[In my considered opinion (nothing humble about it), more than on any proffered policy or politician, the upcoming election will be a referendum on the ability of the American electorate to govern itself. Historically, the choices have never been more clear in which diametrically opposite way the wisdom of this crowd will choose for the country. ‘A republic if we can keep it.’ gjr

AFTER UNANIMOUS APPROVAL in the Senate and Assembly, the California bill that aims to restrict the use of rap lyrics as evidence by prosecutors in criminal cases was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on Friday, Variety reports.
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/california-bill-banning-rap-lyrics-as-evidence-heads-to-governor-1234579851/
“Artists of all kinds should be able to create without the fear of unfair and prejudicial prosecution,” Governor Newsom said in a statement. “California’s culture and entertainment industry set trends around the world and it’s fitting that our state is taking a nation-leading role to protect creative expression and ensure that artists are not criminalized under biased policies.”
Let’s get Taki’s take:
“In California, prosecutors can no longer use a criminal’s murder confession if it has a good beat and you can dance to it.
Apparently, too many black rappers were rapping about their crimes. Experts believe this was based on three main factors: (1) Rappers commit crimes, (2) rappers rap, (3) rappers aren’t intelligent enough to think of anything to rap about except the money they make, the ho’s they bed, and the people they kill.
https://www.takimag.com/article/the-week-that-perished-211/
Black people in Cali can now openly cop to murder, and as long as they make it rhyme, prosecutors have to pretend they didn’t hear it.”
How bad would Cali’s laws be if Soros had funded rappers in addition to DAs????

‘Board member of trans rights org Mermaids resigns after giving speech to pedophile advocacy group’
“In part of the speech Breslow delivered to the group’s 2011 “scientific symposium” in Baltimore, Maryland in August 2011, he compared sexually assaulting a child to masturbating on a shoe.”……
“After this information came to light, Breslow immediately resigned his position as trustee of the children’s charity, which advocates for gender-confused children to have their puberty blocked by off-label experimental drugs ironically once also used to chemically castrate sex offenders.
This revelation couldn’t have come at a worse time for the charity which is now facing an investigation by The Charity Commission after it was revealed by The Telegraph that the group was sending dangerous chest compression devices in discreet packages to teenage girls who believe themselves to be boys.
Mermaids workers were also found to be giving medically inaccurate advice to children about puberty blockers being safe and “totally reversible” and a Mermaids moderator had congratulated a 13-year-old for deciding they are transgender and announcing that declaring to want drugs and “all the surgeries.””

‘PayPal Reverses Plan To Fine Users $2,500 For ‘Misinformation’ After Daily Wire Report’
“The report sparked outrage online, with many people tweeting pledges to dump the online payment facilitator. Particularly chilling was the fact that the policy said determinations of what could be deemed “misinformation,” or a threat to the “wellbeing” of other users was to be at the “sole discretion” of PayPal. The now-aborted policy said users could be liable for “damages” — including the removal of $2,500 “debited directly from your PayPal account” per offense.”

As much as this article slams the project it actually goes pretty much softball to tell the truth.
Then I saw the kicker:
“The post first appeared in the NYTimes.”
Everyone has to admit the whole thing is a failure, but they tried to spin it as a result of “political mistakes”.
The CA HSR project should be shut down and several people still alive should be paraded in front of the public and horse-whipped.
It was the wet-dream of Moon-beam Brown transmorgified into the “take it to the bank” for several labor unions, not to mention a certain husband of a sitting (doubt she’s able to stand) CA Senator.
Now the narrative is that the whole problem is because of a “route change”. Apparently if only the choo choo had gone charging up along I5 over the mountains, everything would have been peachy.
And then they decided to go through “farm land”.
Hoo boy, that could have been easily avoided.
And now the issue is being federalized. Because that’s what the Dems do when they screw the pooch.

Wonder how much moving two freeway lanes through Fresno cost? Or was that some other big city. They had to have 120 miles completed by Jan 1, 2017 or else CA owed the feds 5 billion. Obama saved the Brown Streak before the stroke of midnight on 12/31/16 by giving them more time. Heck, they only have to get the track laid 119 miles plus one, do some test runs by 2028. No passengers yet.
So, because Button Willow is about 119 miles, they decided to pick up some extra needed 20 miles and run it to Bakersfield from Button Willow. And there is still the unsolved mystery of running the green grid to power the operation.
I prefer Amtrak’s coastal route myself.
I haven’t looked lately, but Kern County had more millionaires per capita than Beverly Hills. Oil, ag.

While discussing Bonin Martinez called his son “Parece changuito,” or “He’s like a monkey,” soon afterward. She later referred to Bonin as a “little bitch” and said he is raising his child like a “little white kid.”
The Los Angeles Times reports Councilmember de León compared Bonin’s handling of his child to Martinez carrying her Louis Vuitton handbag. He would later call Bonin as the council’s “fourth black member.”

BT 8:39 – The stuff on Taki Mag is all over this from yesterday. All the Dem white boys in CA are still trying to appease the blacks from 1968.
They happily import millions of browns and are thinking that black/brown/not white is all equal because of their Pantone Chart thinking.
Get real.
Blacks are a disappearing commodity in LA. They are dispersing into the Inland Empire and have almost no actual sway in the former hoods.
Beverly Hills has gone MAGA (look it up) and the Persian Jews that live there are not putting up with left wing soft-on-crime BS.
White Lefty Democrat Barbie Boys are slow to figure this stuff out. Look at the Dem power players in CA – Pelosi and Feinstein. They still have muscle in DC but no clue as to whats on the ground back home.
CA mayors think they have great ideas because they can summon up cash (not theirs) to hand to folks and claim victory. Just wait until the tax receipts roll in this coming spring. Moths from an old moth-eaten purse.

‘VA’s new, multibillion-dollar health records system needs major improvements, agency says’
“I am concerned,” said Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. “We’re into this damn near five years and we haven’t done a damn thing. I mean, we’ve implemented, and it’s been a train wreck in my opinion.”
At the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Wash., where the system was first launched in October 2020, issues included unauthorized and inaccurate medication orders, patients’ name and gender errors, issues in scheduling primary care appointments, misdirected links to video medical appointments and lost referrals.
The VA had originally scheduled to launch the new records system in July at the Boise VA Medical Center but moved it to 2023 after the VA inspector general released a report that revealed the system caused harm to 149 VA patients.“
https://www.stripes.com/veterans/2022-09-21/veterans-affairs-electronic-records-7420137.html
Started off at 10 Billion, then….” A review issued in July by the institute estimated the implementation of the electronic health record system would cost nearly $39 billion in 13 years. The estimate also included more than $17 billion to sustain the system.”

‘Kamala Harris Dragged For Saying No One Should Go To Jail For Smoking Weed’
“The hypocrisy is staggering,” actor Matthew Marsden added.
U.S. Senate Candidate Mark Meuser (R-CA) pointed out: “Clearly, Kamala has forgotten her legacy in California.”
“REMINDER: Kamala Harris has sent at least 1,560 people to prison for marijuana-related offenses,” Steve Guest, special communications advisor to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said.
“Kamala Harris comes out against Kamala Harris,” Dan King added.
“Say what you will about Kamala but at least she’s consistent,” @MattsIdeaShop joked.
“Now … people can change. But this still funny,” O’Shea Jackson tweeted.
Go Tulsi Go!
“I want to bring the conversation back to the broken criminal justice system that is disproportionately negatively affecting black and brown people all across this country today,” Gabbard began, adding, “Now, Senator Harris says she’s proud of her record as a prosecutor and she’ll be a prosecutor president, but I’m deeply concerned about this record.”
“There are too many examples to cite,” Gabbard continued. “She put over 1500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana.”

Hate to say but told ya so –
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — With California’s four-year-old legal marijuana market in disarray, the state’s top prosecutor said Tuesday that he will try a new broader approach to disrupting illegal pot farms that undercut the legal economy and sow widespread environmental damage.
The state will expand its nearly four-decade multi-agency seasonal eradication program — the largest in the U.S. that this year scooped up nearly a million marijuana plants — into a year-round effort aimed at investigating who is behind the illegal grows. The new program will attempt to prosecute underlying labor crimes, environmental crimes and the underground economy centered around the illicit cultivations, said Attorney General Rob Bonta.

re BB at 6:19 – And yet they’re still far better as leaders for our country.
Pretty sad situation, isn’t it?
Maybe if the Dems offered up some leaders who weren’t either totally corrupt or just insane we might find a general raising of the bar for the quality of folks running our govt.
At least the 3 you mention know what a woman is and they don’t think that men can get pregnant. Those 2 things alone beat any Dem any day.

Bidens MO for years! Something goes right, claim credit! Something goes wrong, someone else’s fault! Steal everything not nailed down as the “Senator from MBNA” while blustering like a serious badass (when cowardly hiding behind men with guns) to the democrat rabble!
All in all, the perfect exemplar of progressive manhood.
