Great minds and all that stuff. Exactly what I was thinking since last night. Oh, they went nuts about the “unmarked” LE who did not identify themselves in Portlandia. Van pulls up and snatches criminal arsonist off the street. How dare they!! Both the mayor and Gov refused the National Guardsmen. So, to protect the Federal Courthouse in Portland, Trump moved Border Patrol agents to Portland to protect the building which was repeated attacked, set on fire, damaged, and even had to close for repairs. Trump and his henchman Bill Barr send jack booted thugs/goons to attack the mostly peaceful protestors raining bricks and frozen water bottles down on LE, in addition to lasers in the copse’s eyes and incendiary devices.
Waste of time. When the arsonist hell bent on destroying a federal courthouse and interfering with our democracy, Merrick Garland said because the Federal Courthouse was closed (night time) and no one was in the building, he would not be charged with trying to disrupt one of the three branches of government of our democracy, lol. Boy, they went nuts over on the Union’s comment pages. Undercover brown shirts! Goons not driving police cars so our scouts could not identify them and warn the peaceful protestors. This is what Halter did!!

On protecting the burned church and pushing the crowd back, the DC police were the ones who fired the tear gas/ pepper spray that was non lethal. Remember all the wasted time explaining it was not technically tear gas or toxic stuff, but save and effective crowd repellant. The National Park Service was in charge of defending racist monuments like the Jefferson Memorial as well as Layette Park across the block from the WH.
The Secret Service was protecting the Prez. Bill Barr stepped out in the am and saw the incoming dangerous and hazardous projectiles being showered upon the LE and saw a couple of idiots standing on the roof of the smoldering church. Trespassers. Big safety hazard. He was close enough to see the acid rain descend on our hero’s protecting our National Treasures.
The new anti-scaling fencing had be previously purchased and was scheduled to be installed that very day to protect the National Monuments and Parks. The crowd had to be pushed back across the street and into Layette Park for the sheer safety of the fence installer contractor. Talk about hazardous working conditions. Heck, they even caught the WHITE House guard shack on fire.
A major lapse in security on Jan 6 was the Capitol Police allowed the crowd outside to be on the street and block the lanes. Big mistake. Humongous. Ambulances, LE reinforcements, and even if the Guard was called in at the request of major or Capitol Police or Nancy (she would have to make the call to request the Guard since the Capitol Building is on domestic soil), the street was blocked.
Protocol calls for the crowd to be pushed across the street and have a line of defenders on the sidewalk/nearest lane in front of the Building. LE vehicles and trucks should have been controlling the crowd from outside with the ‘wall’ of defenders keeping the mayhem makers off the grounds by controlling the street. As it turned out, the Capitol Police, the Metro Police and even some Federal agents were caught with their pants down around their ankles w the crowd behind them. One major clustergluck in lapse of security. How could in this day and age ever happened.
Nancy will be not be called to testify under any circumstance per the slow talking barely registering a pulse chairman of the J-6 committee. He already said Nancy is off-limits as a key witness to explain HOW this could happen. Guess we will never know how this was allowed to happen. Bureaucratic error, just like Benghazi, I reckon.
BTW, Trump only sent federal personnel to the Portlandia Federal Courthouse after days and weeks of watching the PPD, Oregon State Police, and area sheriff agencies unable to defend the Federal Building after multiple assaults. If they refuse the Guard, then personnel from other non-military agencies like the Border Patrol or Intel agents were flown to the spot.
