[It appears that the pro-abortion Left is continuing to violate laws and practice violence in demonstrating its opposition to the SCOTUS ruling that overturned Roe v Wade. Compare the coverage of these protests on the various ideologically oriented media outlets. None of the protesters seem to know what the ruling really said and how it preserves democracy in the land. gjr]

You do realize that if trials only presented the prosecution’s point of view with no cross examinations allowed, conviction rates would skyrocket?
Beria would be proud of you, Paul. So un-American.

Wow Scott. what deep thinking!!! You THINK that ” Trump really did believe that an honest and fair vote count of legally cast votes would have him winning in Georgia.” His “thinking” did not involve any factual basis tor his false argument that led to him trying to intimidate Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won this state.”
So Scott whaT was the factual base for Trumps statement and was it OK for him to use that unverified information to have Raffensperger flip the election in his favor?

As you know this is a hearing not a trial. Trump has the opportunity to appear to answer questions but refuses to do so. Why do you think that is? Also the fact is that the Repubs chose not to be part of the hearing which was their own choice.

Trumps motivations for not telling his side of the story publicly are irrelevant. The truth is that had had and still has that opportunity. Don’t you think the American public has the right to know?

PaulE 1008a – “irrelevant”?? Is that your view from Mt Olympus? They’re most relevant because they determine is attendance at the J6 debacle; and they’re relevant to the public which seeks to understand why he’s not in attendance there.
The American public has the same right to know about Trump’s behavior as it has of Biden’s behavior as VP when he was Obama’s “point man” on China and Ukraine, which coincided with Hunter’s company getting lucrative deals in both countries with a month after he flew to both places with daddy on AF2. Oh yes, and the size of the payoff to the “Big Guy” has never been revealed. But this is just the tip of the Biden’s corruption iceberg. Yep, the American people have the right to know. Yet you and lamestream seem to have no interest in such things – I wonder why.

Can you refresh me as to why Trump decided not to testify under oath at the J6 hearings?
As far as I can tell Trump had the opportunity to investigate Hunter B’s accusations while he was President and was top law enforcement officer in the country. Why did he not do that?

It seems to me that the J6 committee and you have similar motivations. You and they appear to be so afraid that Trump will again be POTUS that, despite being able to specify any committed crimes, you all choose to denigrate him in any way that you can. In other words, this is little more than overgrown negative political campaigning.

Perhaps you should write him and ask yourself. Former presidents frequently respond to letters sent and he certainly, not counting his time on the links, has the time to respond.
You could treat it the same way you did when you were in grammar school and the assignment was to write a letter to now former president Martin Van Buren.

I’ve stated many times my optimism that Trump will be the Repubs choice for Pres in ’22. He is after all the biggest political loser in modern history having lost the House, Senate and re-elecrtion in just 4 years, the only President to do that since sometime in the 1800’s.

When she speaks, everyone knows exactly the quality of the intellect behind her carefully chosen words. It happens to be my true thought Michael. The Repubs are in a tough spot. Either Trump the loser gets the nomination or they replace him and he splits the party. Remember, this man has no friends. Ask Jeff Sessions who was among Trumps earliest supporters who Trump called “scum” after he didn’t do his bidding.
Mitch Connell said this of Trump and Jan 6″
“January 6 was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of domestic business they did not like. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police.
They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the vice president.
They did this because they’d been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth because he was angry he lost an election.

Pence was the point man for coordinating all the departments on the vaccine rollout. Pfizer announced the vac they came up with in October after the election so Trump could not take credit for Operation Warp Speed…. the fastest vaccine to ever ever go from discovery into Biden’s arms before Inauguration Day. Beat all records by over a year. Miraculous. Pence was the point man and got a thousand moving pieces moving in the same direction. All set to deliver to the States and major hospitals. Neither Biden or the States knew what to do when it was delivered in their laps.

“But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, Fourth of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you are standing in 90° heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends,” the statement continued. “In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what…we already bought the fireworks.”
“The city of Orlando sincerely regrets the negative impact our words have had on some in our community,” the city said. “We understand these words offended some of our residents, which was not our intent. President Trump did get more votes than any other sitting President in history. 2nd most votes ever, knocking Obama down from first to third on the most votes for a Presidential race, with Trump getting the most ever for a sitting President.

Also what is so ironic about the Republicans is how they made such an issue about character when Clinton was running for President (he was a dog by the way) but not a peep about that from Republican Trump supporters. That comparison does not include Mitch McConnell who writes:

Funny how you ignore the right to have and carry guns (it’s right in the Bill of Rights) while hallucinating a right of women (whatever those are) to kill unborn human babies from conception to birth in the same document.
Had the left liberal mind not bumped up against the time of birth as the upper bound, first trimester abortions might still be settled law.

Roe v Wade was overturned by the SCOTUS rather than POTUS and the court correctly returned the power to legislate in the matter to the legislatures. By design via the US Constitution, popularity polls are irrelevant to courts’ decisions.
Your whataboutism re Republicans’ reaction to Clinton in no way addresses that some support Trump because they prioritize results over personality.
