[Millions of workers are in their hammocks enjoying govt checks and depressing the labor participation rate to 62.3% from 63.4% at the end of Trump’s administration during which time it was increasing for the first time since the 2008 Great Recession. Yes, during the entire ‘Obama recovery’ more and more people were leaving their jobs. The participation rate includes worker with jobs and those actively looking for jobs. This makes the cited 3.6% unemployment rate a hokey statistic; millions more are sitting on their butts enjoying govt handouts while employers are looking for workers and paying excessive wages to those working. These high labor costs are another one of Biden’s Blunders which contributes to our soaring inflation. Bumblebrain has given new meaning to ‘loser’. gjr]

But Trump started the program by signing it into law. It was not a Presidential order. Biden stopped on last Sept 7. The Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation Program’ was passed by the Congress as part of the Cares Act and signed by Trump and later extended.

‘Unemployment Benefits Expire for Millions Without Pushback From Biden’
WASHINGTON — Expanded unemployment benefits that have kept millions of Americans afloat during the pandemic expired on Monday, setting up an abrupt cutoff of assistance to 7.5 million people as the Delta variant rattles the pandemic recovery.
The end of the aid came without objection from President Biden and his top economic advisers, who have become caught in a political fight over the benefits and are now banking on other federal help and an autumn pickup in hiring to keep vulnerable families from foreclosure and food lines.
The $1.9 trillion economic aid package Mr. Biden signed in March included extended and expanded benefits for unemployed workers, like a $300-per-week federal supplement to state jobless payments, additional weeks of assistance for the long-term unemployed and the extension of a special program to provide benefits to so-called gig workers who traditionally do not qualify for unemployment benefits. The expiration date reached on Monday means that 7.5 million people will lose their benefits entirely and another three million will lose the $300 weekly supplement.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/06/business/economy/unemployment-benefits.html
So, Congress passed a Scared Bi-Partisan bill and Trump signed it. Congress passed an almost two trillion Scared Bi-Partisan roads and infrastructure bill (over ten years) and Biden signed it. Congress failed to pass the 2-4-6-9 trillion Bite Back Better Bill….because Trump left the House tighter and the Senate @ 50-50.

Wasn’t it Punchy who was screaming Trump is a liar because he did not get a $2,000 check fast enough?
“I don’t care what Biden said Bill….” Well, you already said you don’t care about Hillary. You have already stated unequivocally that you don’t give a hoot about VP Kamala Harris, what she does and says. Now you don’t care with what Biden said. Aha, a single issue voter….with TDS. I would bring up Obama, but all I would get is “Bush did it too!”
Punchy, you would be the perfect candidate to be on the only Pelosi appointed members allowed on the J6 Committee. You should give Nan a call. Speak up, the old flea bag wharf denizen is hard of hearing.

Seriously, stop the violence. It’s bad enough the DOJ is investigating parents and members of the public whose only crime is to walk up to the microphone at a local school board meeting and speak their truth to power. Enough already, enough.
‘Democrats ignore threats against justices, churches, pregnancy centers and it’s deeply disturbing’
It’s time for Biden, Democratic Party leaders to stop giving pro-choice radicals’ violence and threats a pass
“Sadly, we cannot expect much from this Justice Department, with a Civil Rights Division overseen by Kristen Clarke. Clarke has not hesitated to charge people with blocking the entrance of an abortion clinic. What about outright destruction of crisis pregnancy centers? Clarke has a history of calling such facilities “harmful” and “predatory” and using the hashtag “ExposeFakeClinics.””

PaulE – I suggest you watch FN to broaden your horizons. Otherwise you’ll go on believing that the millions of households not participating in the workforce subsist on air and sunshine. I know that’s part of liberal economics theory, but as with so many things the Left believes in, it doesn’t tie with reality.
And with your 835p – “… have governments that you consider to be Communist-Marxist.” – that false claim is sure a conversation stopper.

Even Fox News is turning on Trump. Check this out:
Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum quotes;
“The lack of evidence is the huge stunning clear moment here where these people are saying, ‘Look I supported you, please give me something to work with,’ and it simply doesn’t materialize,” MacCallum said, per The Hill.
Arizona Republican House Speaker Rusty Bowers testified Tuesday that Trump and his lawyers pressured him to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory in the state.
“There was no ― no evidence being presented of any strength … anything that would say to me, ‘You have a doubt. Deny your oath.’ I will not do that,” Bowers said of Trump’s fraud claims.

PaulE 108p – It’s hard to have a nuanced conversation with you because you see everything in their extremes – black/white, 1/0, true/false, socialist/capitalist, … . What’s worse, you interpret the views of others in the same vein, which they then deny, and that derails the conversation.
Nationalized healthcare is one of the topics I have discussed extensively on RR, and it appears that to date you have not understood a word of it. Most certainly I’m at my wits end and will no longer attempt to seek your comprehension, nor answer when you so poorly comprehend my beliefs, values, and interpretations as simple-minded notions of a simple mind.

Here’s a direct quote from Trumps Truth Social on Sunday morning regarding his phone conversation with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger
“My phone call to the Georgia Secretary of State, with many other people, including numerous lawyers, knowingly on the line, was absolutely PERFECT and appropriate. YES, it was a PERFECT CALL (and so was the second call for which the Washington Post was forced to do a major, and somewhat embarrassing, retraction). Thank you!”
His phone call to Brad Raffensperger included this quote that he won the George election.
“There’s no way I lost Georgia. There’s no way. We won by hundreds of thousands of votes,” .
Do you believe that Trump was lying when he said that in his attempt to influence a public official to challenge the election?

Yep – plunking on a gee-tar and yakking with people does make you quite the expert on govt run health care, Paul.
And yet you have yet to explain why California failed to even try to set up a govt run system despite bragging they could hardly wait to do so for decades given the money and Dem control of the state. Both of which they claimed they had.
But, of course I’m not a guitar player, so what do I know about health care?

Andrew Gillum, a Democrat who narrowly lost to Ron DeSantis (R) during the 2018 Florida gubernatorial race, was indicted in federal court on Wednesday on charges of fraud.
The office for the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida announced the charges against Gillum and one of his longtime advisers, Sharon Letterman-Hicks, after a grand jury returned a 21-count indictment.”

In our state the progressives are like a spreading flesh-eating bacteria that is consuming the state’s QoL and leaving behind piles of offal in the new regions into which they establish themselves. Their aim is to bring to the rest of the state the ‘equity’ of the shithole cities they have created. PaulE et al across the land neither see nor acknowledge this devastation. PaulE 1006am – Yes I can. The Governator was elected on the promise to promote four major initiatives that would have markedly improved our lot as Californians (I leave it to you to look them up.) After spending considerable political capital promoting them, the Democrat legislature shot each one of them down, and essentially made him a place-holder executive which was their aim until the next Dem disaster took office.
But I do appreciate your continued presentation of evidence of how the liberal minds in California offer neither reason nor hope for ever lifting us out of our monopoly-party governance cesspool.
