No no no! You folks get back to work. I want my SS check!
Looking at salaries of school administrators at all levels, I think they should work 48 hours and be paid for 32.

‘Employees are not asking for games or free food or free coffee — those were some of the perks we saw before, especially in Silicon Valley,’ Garcia said. ‘Employees are talking about wanting a work-life balance, wanting to be healthy mentally, physically and emotionally. And a four-day work week is part of that discussion…I think the labor shortage is not about people not wanting to work, but they want a better balance.’
    Without a reduction in salary.
All those folks “wanting a work-life balance” – now this’ll give them more time for on-line gaming. And there were surely a lot of folks not working when the government gave them ‘free’ money.
George, I predict this will lead to the largest productivity increase in human history, all due to a 25% pay raise. Should put to shame the taming of horses for transport (not food), writing, the wheel, Ron Popeil’s Pocket Fisherman.
Who knew that government has as many innovative ideas as small business entrepreneurs!

It’s not being a tightwad. It’s being prudent….a good steward of one’s money. Taking personal responsibility for one’s affairs. The customer is always right kind of thang…and the customer votes with their feet and wallet.
BTW, I was impressed that your shoehorned 60 bucks into your Corolla. I drive a Avalon, the luxury version of the Camry. It’s 22 years old and I paid 10 bucks for it about 6 years ago…aka…the dog car.
I was impressed that I shoehorned 90 bucks into that 🚘 the other day. 15.9 gallons (luxury cars have bigger tanks) came it to 90 smackers on the nose. We both drive Toyotas and now we both can say, “Oh, what a feeling!”

Speaking of being prudent, some folks just make bad decisions in life. They should have been a better stewards of the company’s money.

Law enforcement rarely gives 2 shits about tracing the firearm back to the “original” owner – because it almost never helps in apprehending, prosecuting and jailing the perp.
Oh wait – there was that judge that was killed in the hostage situation and Angela Davis bought the shotgun. Aha!

From USA (Yester)day, re Brooklyn subway shooting:
“The shooter, whom Sewell described as a Black male with a heavy build,…First Deputy Commissioner Laura Kavanagh said 10 people were shot. Sewell said none of the injuries was life-threatening….the gunman fired 33 times with a Glock 17 9mm semi-handgun…The MTA had put security cameras in all 472 subway stations citywide, saying they would put criminals on an “express track to justice.” But police said cameras were not working in at least three subway stations and were investigating the issues.”
Sailer’s law again. Also introduced a new word for you crazed gun-folks – a “semi-handgun”. Wonder what that is? But to USA-T credit, they did use the word “Black”, to describe the shooter. Sorry, alleged shooter. The 10-12 cameras in that station were inop for days (from a Curtis Sliwa quote on Sean Hannity last night). Bernhard Goetz was quoted “Boy, wish I had a Glock 17, even if it did jam after 33 shots.”

    The modern day feudal system.
Even today amid a mounting exodus among those who can afford it, and with its appeal diminished to businesses and newcomers, California, legendary state of American dreams, continues to inspire optimism among progressive boosters.
Laura Tyson, the longtime Democratic economist now at the University of California at Berkeley, praises the state for creating “the way forward” to a more enlightened “market capitalism.” Like-minded analysts tout Silicon Valley’s massive wealth generation as evidence of progressivism’s promise. The Los Angeles Times suggested approvingly that the Biden administration’s goal is to “make America California again.” And, despite dark prospects in November’s midterm elections, the President and his party still seem intent on proving it.
But most Californians, according to recent surveys, see things differently. They point to rising poverty and inequality, believe the state is in recession and that it is headed in the wrong direction. Parting with the state’s cheerleaders, the New York Times’ Ezra Klein, a reliable progressive and native Californian, says the Golden State’s failures are “making liberals squirm.”

Inside the FBI’s infiltration and entrapment of a Michigan militia crew
“Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg testified to Congress in October 2020 that Facebook had “identified” the Whitmer kidnap plot “as a signal to the FBI about six months ago” regarding “suspicious activity on our platform.”
But the plot didn’t exist at that point.
That is, until multiple government-paid newcomers joined the group. Stephen Robeson, an FBI informant with a list of felonies and other crimes, organized key events to build the movement.
Dan Chapel, another FBI informant who was paid $54,000, became second-in-command and masterminded the military training for the group, even as he helped the feds wiretape their messages.
Though several militia members explicitly opposed kidnapping the governor, Chapel and Robeson helped hatch a ludicrous plot to snatch Whitmer from her vacation home and take her away for trial. FBI operatives took the participants, who prattled idiotically about stealing a Blackhawk helicopter, for drives near Whitmer’s vacation home, which supposedly proved they were going to nab the governor and unleash havoc.
It was all a setup. Shortly before that excursion, an FBI agent texted instructions to Chapel: “Mission is to kill the governor specifically.” There were as many FBI informants and undercover agents as there were purported plotters in this case.
The conspiracy began unraveling even before the trial began last March. Robert Trask, the lead FBI agent and “the public face” of the kidnapping case, was fired after he was arrested for “beating his wife during an argument over an orgy that the two had attended at a hotel in Kalamazoo, Mich.,” The New York Times reported. Two other key FBI agents were sidelined from the case for misconduct (including creating a side hustle with his own cybersecurity firm).

E Fox. A intense study of the gender pay gap reveals that women in the workforce highly desire and want a work-life balance” more than their male counterparts. Male workers are more likely to take on more over-time than their female counterparts and desire to work day shifts more than night shifts, despite the extra money working nights or weekends some employers offer.
While not knowing who exactly wrote the piece you references, it sounds like something women in the workforce would desire most…and perhaps written by working mothers. Maybe, maybe not.
Greece has a retirement age of 50 and I believe France instituted the 36 hour work week. I have no opposition to the 4-day work week. Worked a 4-10 shifts once. 10 hours a day, 4 days a week. Wed-Sat. Got three days off. Every weekend was a three day weekend.
The only drawback was the local dump run had to be on Sundays as I was decompressing from the week as the dump is closed on the other two days off on my “weekends”. The other drawback was most beauty parlors are closed Sunday and Mondays. The upside was I could hit the markets and most any retail outfits on Tuesday mornings..where even the DMV was not crowded.
Pulled in a lot of OT back then, seldom worked only ten hours a day. But, times have changed unless one is self employed.
The dude who started Holiday Inn once was asked what was the secret to his success. He answer the secret was working half time. 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Half time.
Nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with a work-life balance. The Sabbath is the day for no work.

Well, they were trying to get Diane Feinstein to not run last time and being all mad at her for screwing up and not sinking the Amy Coney Barrett nomination. See, when ACB was up for Court of Appeals, Di-Wi had already tried the “Religious Test” on her, which backfired spectacularly. So, Wi-Fi ruint their narrative and spin to derail ACB for SCOTUS.
Now that Di-Wi won’t loose her name from a middle school in SF, it may be time to step aside….or better yet, gets pushed aside.

    He says that….he’s lying!
Were Trump to run against the senile Mick grifter in 2024 he’d stomp a big ol mud hole in his useless corrupt carcass. This only becomes more evident as events progress. It’s as though the entire democrat establishment decided to commit suicide all at once in the the most spectacular fashion possible as penance for foisting The Pride of Scranton onto an undeserving populace. I say this as someone who doesn’t care if Trump runs or not! Trump served his purpose in 2016….he kept Hillary Clinton out of the White House and that’s all he had to do to have a successful presidency. If we never hear from him again ….well…Okey Dokey!

Yeah – that’s ethanol. Ethanol has about 2/3rds the energy of gasoline per gallon. More ethanol equals less miles per gallon. And it drives up the cost of corn in general and corn kinda gets used in a lot of ways for our food chain most people don’t realize.
So – crappier fuel for cars, higher prices for food…

Wait til Biden finds out that Trump tried the same thing in 2019, but the Greenies filed suit with a three judge panel in DC and stopped the ethanol pollution dead in its track. Besides lower gas mileage, ethanol pollution stays close to the ground….aka…..smog.
So, who will be the first Mean Green Planet Saving Machine to step up and drop a lawsuit on Joe, the truck driving man? You can’t pipe ethanol. Corrodes the heck out of pipelines. Gotta truck it, hitch is bad for the enviroment.
Get this. One Greenie proposed covering the farmland with solar panels, ROFLMAO. Don’t think silica and glass will feed the world, but it might save the planet from O.5 degree bump in temps.
