In the category of ‘rip off the rubes while you can’: the t-rump campaign had to refund $122 million to online donors who got bilked by the trump donation website. If you made a donation the “Make this a weekly recurring donation” check box was made the default. So without reading the fine print and unchecking the box, people were duped into having their credit or debit cards automatically billed every WEEK for whatever was the amount of their original donation. “Join the President’s Executive Club – For true patriots only,” the appeal read. In smaller print was “Make this a weekly recurring donation until 11/3.”
Most of the refunds came from donations made through the post election “Stop the Steal” appeal. Rob rube Peter to pay rube Paul… The trump organization really knows how to work the rubes.
In the interests of fair and balanced reporting: for various reasons, refunds to donors are not uncommon ..the Biden campaign had to refund over $21 million during the 2020 campaign.

Got a box from Space Exploration Technologies today.
Opened the box, stuck the antenna into the base, put it in a spot on the deck that had a crappy view of the sky and plugged it in.
it worked even pointed badly… with about 20Mbps download.
put it into a better spot… got 160Mbps down.
It’s now placed on the roof that might be a permanent spot. We’ll see. max download is ranging from 30Mbps to 160. Sometimes zero, but Starlink is flagging it as unusual and they’re looking into the cause.
The cost of the hardware was $499 plus tax. The $99 a month starts in 30 days.
been paying $48 a month for 5Mbps download ADSL… plus the $42 a month for POTS line… for how much longer i don’t know…
