[Jo Ann and I got our second doses of the Moderna C19 vaccine yesterday in Yuba City. Our overlords are contemplating having all kinds of new travel regulations that require proof of vaccination, or immunity, or studying critical race theory, or something similar. I wonder if we all will have to start carrying government issued copies of our shot and indoctrination records with us at all times as the next level of controlling our behavior and whereabouts. gjr]

Been around the block a couple of times and I saw numerous headlines spread across the mainstream media (lefty media) that blasted out, ‘Biden To Hold Formal Press Conference’. In previous decades and previous administrations, a president holding a press conference would be a news blurb, maybe a headline for a morning or evening edition for a 4 hour news cycle, max.
What I never can recall before is a President holding a press conference is the headline news in and of itself and the lead story for two days running.
Imagine if you will President Biden walking across the WH lawn to board Marine One, hears a reporter shout out a question with the idling helicopter creating a ‘wall of noise…..and Biden turning around, approach the hostile press, and totally delight in mixing it up with the press, duking it out with them for 20 straight minutes taking on all questions and questioners. Imagine Biden taking one just one ad hoc unscripted question, ROFLMAO. Come on, man

My born and raised California friend in Eastern Wyoming: I had to tell him that his neighbor Colorado was expecting a snow storm the likes that hadn’t been seen since1865. News to him, lol. He loves it. Rolls with the punches. You get what you get and don’t throw a fit.
He did say that he had to get up at 4-5 am because he volunteered to clear the snow in the church parking lot and almost grumbled that the services would probably be cancelled. Almost grumbled. He did his volunteer service and looking at the bright side, he thinks it is a splendid to do his taxes and working on his indoor seed germination setup for a nice Spring garden. Never lose that attitude of gratitude. Keeps you young and strong.
OTOH, him doing his taxes on such a fine day MEANS I will be doing…er…..helping him doing his taxes with rather complicated form Ks and such….I almost grumbled within myself. Almost, then full grumble….until I got back that attitude of gratitude.
Spent the last two days burning and am done for the year. Got the wild flower garden spot weeded and ready as well. Yes indeed, it is a splendid day to volunteer to help a brother out…and save him 8k that his CPA charged him last year. He’s my MAGA Bro. :). “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother”. Wyoming had dry snow in his parts. Snow in the morning, mow lawn in the afternoon….after a nice ride on the big motorcycle. 🙂

The Lefties say I should be in jail! Haven’t taken a C-19 test, am I very high risk, and when some nice lady from a 916 area code called to ask if I need help getting a vaccine, I hung up on her. Now our Enlightened Betters say folks like me should be incarcerated. I have already been exposed (self-diagnosis) judging my the symptoms I had that matched the two friends that recovered, one of which was among the county’s first nine cases. The other friend, like some I know, do not got to the doc. It passed in a couple of days for me,a couple to theeeweeks for them. Helpful hint: an inhaler does help more that going to the hospital, including the opinion of one who was hospitalized. Reckon if you don’t have an inhaler, you gotta to the doc for a script for one….or get a free one from the doc’s stash of free samples.
So I reckon I got herd immunity. :). What others call ‘social distancing’, we call elbow room. A lifestyle.
They don’t call it practicing medicine for nothing. I am not anti-vac or even anti-mask or usually not anti-doc. I have no problem social distancing from the psycho left….many of whom a overweight air heads telling me what I should be doing. 7 out of 10 C-19 deaths are fat folks. 80% of the ones hospitalized for C-19 are overweight. Now, that is friggin crisis if I ever saw one.
Unbelievable (or perhaps believable) that Ms. Tub of Lard on the GV city council and Ms. Thunder Thighs on the BOS both oppose signing off on a toothless resolution to send to Pretty Boy Gavin that we would like more information, more dollars (US) and a say in the War Against the Wuhan Virus. Nope, that would be sending the wrong message to the government worshippers. A slippery slope! And to thing one of the Tubbie Twins advocated having our county government (Sheriffs) take over Sammy and Friends no kill animal shelter staffed and run by countless animal loving volunteers, a true community effort. Talk about being out of touch with
the locals. Shut down Sammie’s Friends and let the gov run a no-kill animal shelter, lol. The government, like the medical profession in general are in the business of killing people everyday through neglect, arrogance, or on purpose. And we pay their salaries as well as taking our tax revenue and sending it oversees to pay for foreign nations’ abortions on demand.
I have no problem social distancing from the control freaks, be they fat, skinny a bean pole, or in between. Look at what total fuck heads like our former County Superintendents of schools have gone to our schools. They are the ones that deserve to be incarcerated, not those who try to avoid stepping in what’s left of them.

Heck, we carved out so many exceptions to the rule after big time blowback from local cartoonists to freelance members of the local watering hole’s house band to the entire entertainment industry. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and, oh boy, do those neurotic entertainment types ever scream like the sky is falling when their ox is the one being gored. Anyway, the original CA Gig Law is rolling out to a place near you, from seat to shining sea.
Silver lining: perfect timing for Punch to retire. Don’t think any local pub will put the local house bands on payroll and pay their SS. Saved by the bell.
Should not come as any surprise. Sac Bee headline and article for 8/29/2020 lays it all out clearly as six of the top ten Dem candidates have come in very strong support of the CA gig law. Helps labor, blah, blah, blah. They meant it helps labor unions, especially for Uber-Lift driver unions having their members’ bennies pay for 100% by the ‘employers’ and the union bosses getting a big that cut.
Ole Peter Buttijudge and Pocahontas Dizzy Lizzy from Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma came out racing to nationalize the idea. All the Dems rose their hands in support. Our lovely urbanite friends from government. 🙂
