PaulE 1047am – What promise? You and I have profoundly different definitions for ‘promise’. Trump made C19 vaccines possible in the 20-21 timeframe, for that alone he should become a Nobel laureate. And I didn’t agree with Trump’s $2,000 checks, nor do I agree with anyone who subsequently promises to send out such stimulus when we still have $1T of unspent previous stimulus.

Re timing my opposition – there are too many things that I support and oppose for me to comment on all of them. My stated policy on such ‘stimulus spending’ is a matter of record in these pages, and it most certainly covers opposition to air-dropping such checks across the land (remember how effective was ‘Helicopter Ben’ Bernanke with his checks?).

I was noting the hypocrisy fish of the Trumpers who were also Tea Partiers who were so much against deficit spending but never said a peep about the $7 Trillion debt that Trump ran up in just 4 years, an all time record. Probably over $8 Trillion when you add in his bill for the Pandemic relief that he supported in early Jan before he was tossed out of left.
