    I think the national guard occupation of Washington was a massive ruse to hide the fact that no one would have shown up to the inauguration.
    Troops were trucked in to avoid disastrous public relations images of an ‘installed government’ with no popular support. Trump’s crowds showed America what a populous celebrating their legally elected President looks like – so they had to make his crowds illegal and label enthusiastic, legal, voters as terroists. We are watching what a one-party government has to do to keep power. The left is made a necessary but futile attempt to hide the fact that they were not elected but rather installed.
    National guard troops were given ONE ROOM per person! They filled the hotels. Reports were of demoralized guardsmen walking around knowing there was no real threat. No proof of the chatter, no evidence of any disruptions anywhere by the real Trump supporters and conservatives. Everything about the inauguration was a Potemkin’s village. Even the wavey flags placed in intervals along the side of the monument mall kinda looked like strolling people. This is an installed government without popular support, and they had to create a situation to hide the truth.
    Even the bleachers and seating during his actual inauguration were either completely empty or sparsely filled. NO one showed up.
    Only the foolish were fooled.

    I think it’s new but I buy some of the comments in that it’s likely it was a tactical move of every other platoon watching for threats from the vast crowds.

    Agreed. Even if he hadn’t slithered in under questionable circumstance, the Muppet in Chief doesn’t exactly command enthusiasm. There’s not enough left within his shell to really even dislike.

    Biden is now admitting the CV19 is going to continue for months and ‘could’ even get worse. Doesn’t sound like the yap we heard from him when he was running. He says he wants the schools to re-open. Trump said that months ago – hence ‘slow Joe’.
    Schools around here have been open since the start of the school year. Biden issues a ‘mask mandate’ on all fed property and a few hours later he’s seen walking around (probably lost) with no mask on.
    To be fair – Joe is probably too far gone to notice he doesn’t have a mask on.

    The Sacramento zoning change cracks me up, although you’d sure feel bummed if your house, bought with the condition of single-family zoning, was suddenly surrounded by fourplexes.

    What made me laugh, looking at a couple of news articles, is the notion that you’ll see a few ‘luxury’ 4-plexes get built. What’ll really happen is that larger houses will get a quicky remodel to four dwelling units and rented out, it’s the obvious financial move. Water, sewers, and traffic be-damned. Folks who don’t want a 4x improvement in the neighbor count will leave or turn their own place into a 4x rental. It takes a community to produce a favela.
    Given the strong housing market, I’d put my place up for sale yesterday if the city council pulled something like this.

    My guess is that any anti-illegal alien rhetoric of his will be memoryholed over time. In this giant experiment in prison politics that Team Blue America will become, it’s important to have a Hispanic MLK as a flag bearer. In the meantime, Mr. Chavez will increasingly have a ‘complex’, ‘nuanced’, and ‘complicated’ history rather than being simply viewed as a man who made the logical observation that mass immigration hurts workers at the bottom.
    No word yet on who the Islamic or Chinese MLK will be although somebody has to replace all of those destroyed statues as we see the concept of assimilation into historic US culture recede in the mirror. It’ll be a tricky matter to populate President Cabbage’s Hall of Races.
    In a world of universal institutional collapse there’s always something that can fill the vacuum. I mean, it might take a couple of hundred years, but it’s coming. Gotta get ready for Gliese 710 you know.
