[Hopefully, after our Christmas gut busting binges, everyone today is eating more lightly, no matter that such professed dedications never last long. “Bill.. Tomorrow morn’n the poor man’s prime rib goes in the smoker.(12 pound pork butt) The fire gets lit at the crack of dawn. @ .89 cents a pound at Safeway there no passing that up!
It would take the whole DEM stimulus check if I had bought the beef.(cheap bastards)”
Well, that answers my question if you are on solid food yet. :). Your recovery is right on schedule. I will send a drone over to swoop down and grab me some a succulent hunk of Walt’s pork butt with SPD rub and bring it on back….weather permitting of course. I am sure you won’t mind. 🙂

About the cougar(s) sighting(s), been thinking long and hard about that one. Cougars, mountain lions, panthers….bad ass kitties. I cringe to say this, but I am ok with hunting them down in rural neighborhoods if kids are around. Of stay at home moms. They are powerful animals. Unbelievable strength. Their tongues alone can lick the skin right off your arm. They are not bobcats and foxes and things that can kill house cats and raid the chicken coop. Have you seen my white chicken? Have you seen calico cat? No, I see wildlife, I keep it too myself. Courgars are different. I would warn a neigh or two, but they probably have lost a goat or two and know about it. No good for young ones (toddlers) walking about outside unintended. You never know. They are the definition of stealth.
Once gave a neighbor a heads up about a bear close by. I yelled at bear outside in the dark one night and he took of running like a bat out of hell and your could hear very loud breaking of manzanita branches and brush and trees as Yogi fled. Boy baby. That had to hurt. So. I told a neighbor and he called Fish and Game and grabbed his shotgun and….no more bear. After that I keep it mum.
Last thing any property owner in these parts should do is open their pie holes and post pictures of an endangered frog or bug found on their property. Just give them their space and co-exist. Otherwise, the bug owns the land and you don’t in any practical or utilitarian way.

“The 46-year-old woman has been bailed until January on the condition that she does not enter any NHS facility except for a health emergency or appointment, according to the local news outlet Gloucestershire Live.
In the video posted on social media, the woman is heard saying: “Where’s the second wave? Where’re all the people dying from the second wave?” as she wanders through the largely deserted corridors of the hospital.
“We’ve just been locked down in Gloucestershire into Tier 3, for this? For an empty hospital, look at it, this is a disgrace,” the unnamed woman went on.”

This is from an editorial in the conservative Wall Street Journal blasting Trumps pathetic attempt to flip the election. This is an embarrassment for the sad ol’ GOP.
President Trump’s last and worst shot at overturning the 2020 election will come on Jan. 6, as the new Congress meets in joint session to tally the votes from the Electoral College. Mr. Trump wants Republican lawmakers to lodge formal objections to Joe Biden’s electors, and this kamikaze mission already has a few volunteers.
Here’s what would happen next, at least according to the Electoral Count Act: If a state’s electors are challenged by both a Senator and a Representative, then each chamber is supposed to retire to consider it. If they rejected the electors of enough states to deny Mr. Biden 270 electoral votes, then the House would choose the President.
But how could lawmakers justify throwing out electors for Mr. Biden? Although Mr. Trump keeps tweeting claims of massive vote fraud, his lawsuits have been rejected in court, sometimes by his own conservative appointees.
Any challenge to Mr. Biden’s electors appears doomed, since upholding the objection takes a majority in both chambers. The Democratic House would use the opportunity to excoriate Mr. Trump a final time on his way out the door, and grown-ups in the Republican Senate are unlikely to play along. Hence the Trump crowd’s latest argument: that the power to invalidate electors rests with the joint session’s presiding officer—Vice President Mike Pence.

‘Boston Leaders Remove Statue of Lincoln Celebrating Emancipation of Slaves’
“…141-year-old statue of Abe Lincoln celebrating the emancipation of slaves in America has been removed in Boston. The bronze statue, which was a copy of a monument in DC, had been in the Boston Park Square since 1879.
However, a monument celebrating the Republican President that freed the slaves that was, according to the National Park Service, FUNDED by freed slaves, was too offensive for liberals in Boston and had to be removed.”
“After receiving a petition calling for the statue to be taken down and threats it would be torn down by a mob this summer, the Boston Arts Commission unanimously voted to remove the statue. Boston’s mayor Marty Walsh added, “After engaging in a public process, it’s clear that residents and visitors to Boston have been uncomfortable with this statue, and its reductive representation of the Black man’s role in the abolitionist movement.”
To hold a country together long-term, there have to be some shared values. If you believe that even statues of Lincoln are so offensive that they shouldn’t be allowed to stand, then what do we have in common? Note that it wasn’t just a few nutjobs pushing this, the liberals in charge of the city of Boston all went along with this nonsense. It’s a disgrace and it makes you wonder how long this country can continue to hold together as a nation.“

Hmmm. After Native Americans were not granted the right to vote until the 1900’s and such, all I can do is leave the reader with one exit question:
Q: What do we have in common with the wingnuts in Boston, “those people”?
A: Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Sen. Josh Hawley sparked outrage Wednesday with his decision to object to the certification of certain states’ Electoral College votes during Congress’ joint session on Jan. 6 — joining several House members who have also said they will object to force a vote in each the House and the Senate over whether to accept individual slates of electors.
“The last three times a Republican has been elected president — Trump in 2016 and George W. Bush in both 2000 and 2004 — Democrats in the House have brought objections to the electoral votes in states the GOP nominee won. In early 2005 specifically, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., along with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs, D-Ohio, objected to Bush’s 2004 electoral votes in Ohio. ”

Chicago city leaders on Wednesday released more than 150 emails, as well as other documents, photos and police body camera footage in connection with the botched February 2019 raid at Anjanette Young’s home.
More than 150 pages of emails between city aides contradict Lightfoot’s initial claim that she didn’t know about the raid until earlier this month when Chicago’s WBBM-TV first aired police footage. The incident and the city’s response prompted nationwide criticism, the ouster of the city’s top attorney, and led to an independent investigation.

“Bloomburg spend 500 million on political ads. That’s more than a million bucks PER PERSON here in the U.S.”
You’re off by about a million.

Gregory, perhaps this is the source of the problem.
‘Brian Williams And An MSNBC Guest Did Some Very Bad Math On The Bloomberg Campaign’
Could Mike Bloomberg have given us all $1 million each with the money he spent running for president??
“Bloomberg spent $500 million on ads. The US population is 327 million. He could have given each American $1 million and still have money left over. I feel like a $1 million check would be life-changing for most people. Yet he wasted it all on ads and STILL LOST,” writer Mekita Rivas tweeted on Super Tuesday. (Rivas has since made her Twitter account private.)”

No one, but nobody, as ever accused ‘Brian helicoptering under a barrage of fire through a hot zone Williams’ of being the sharpest tool in the shed. He gives dim wits a bad name. As far as the member of the NYT editorial board….well, at least they are consistent. 🙂
Bet Andrew Yang never made that mistake. Not to stereotype, just saying. And Yang has taken out papers to run for Wilhelm de Blasio’s current job. Apparently Yang’s proposal to ban circumcising males did not gain any much election year traction….other than Don’t Circumcise the Yang jokes.
