   “Well, from his mouth to God’s ear is all we can hope for.”
   An interesting angle to the whole thing is the side effect of a state (it’s not a nation anymore) where 51% of the voters take one side and 49% of the voters take the other, but the 49% are far more enthusiastic. Democracies don’t act like markets.
   Personally, I like the concept of a pro-border, pro-US (ie. anti-globalist), anti-CRT mostly centrist President, a split Congress, and a pro-Constitution Supreme Court. ie. what we have now, but there’s certainly no guarantee that the Blue Mob won’t have their day in the sun.
   For one thing, this is the early days of watching the results of internet-caused mob behavior, social immune systems haven’t been contrived yet. My strongest bet would be on the current situation being instability resulting in a state change (in both senses) to a CIAFacebookNPRGoogleNSA surveillance society. There’s no counter tendency in the works and the power and money to be made is irresistible, regardless of the pretend WWF politics of the whole situation.

   “Dear God. I’m a lifelong Democrat, and I just did this. I’m posting this from behind seven proxies, because if it got out I voted for Trump, my career would be ruined.
   Let’s face it. Donald Trump is not great. He’s gross, undisciplined, dumb, utterly amoral, and half-senile. Sure, he wants to do the right thing a lot of the time, but he’s too fucking unfocused to ever follow through and make it happen.
   But he basically acts like a normal Republican president, and he hasn’t gotten us into any new wars. So he’s fine.
   But the Democrats? They’re utterly corrupt. They’re infested with woke fanatics. They let Seattle and San Francisco, once jewels of this country, crumble into filthy, shit-streaked, crime-ridden, methhead-infested pits. They cheer on rioting in our streets. All of their ideas are bad, they nominated a senility outpatient for president, and now they’re just openly censoring anyone who questions them.
   If you want to say anything even half-sane, like that we should have real borders, or that trans women aren’t actually women, they will destroy you.
   They can’t be rewarded for this. They just can’t.
   I don’t think Trump will win. He’s fucked up too many times. But at least now I know where I stand. I can sleep tonight.

    re George’s post – I haven’t the foggiest clue what the outcome of the election will be. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
    In other words – business as usual here in Sage Hollow.
    The pollster who got it right last time is a genius until the next time. I’m always dubious of the term ‘likely voter’. Either you are or you aren’t. The best pollsters are probably the ones that work directly for campaigns and you aren’t likely to ever get any straight talk from any campaign. Obama admitted that Hillary knew she was in trouble a couple of weeks before the election despite all the rosy talk about the electoral rout she would deliver. Her pollster knew. The LSN media is hopeless for anything accurate and Breitbart will cheer on Trump to the end no matter how they really feel about his chances. Over at NRO they seem to be uncertain. M Moore is ranting about Trump’s chances as he knows the Dems are notorious for being too stoned/lazy assed/forgetful/whatever to bother to vote. Even a Dem mucky-muck once admitted publicly that Dem voters are “historically under-represented” at the polls. Yeah – that’s one way to put it.
    Our Republic sails on – I’m more concerned about the crew than the captain. A good crew can always get rid of a bad captain. The flip side is not that easy.

    Good reasons ya got there for the historically high black voter support for the Prez –
    The Census Bureau just released stunning statistics about the economic well-being of Americans in 2019. Minority groups benefited greatly from the remarkable labor market that preceded the coronavirus epidemic
    Unemployment rates for Blacks hovered for months at or near historic lows. Workers with less than a high school diploma and criminal records left the sidelines of the workforce.
    Before the coronavirus, the labor force participation rates of Blacks, prime-age workers 25 to 54, and women ticked up from Obama-era lows. Even years into the Obama economic recovery, these workers were still leaving the labor force.
    High employment under Trump led to minorities experiencing the largest income gains. Real median income grew by 7.9% for Blacks in 2019. That outpaced 2018’s income growth of 2.6% and 2017’s income decline of -2.4%. Notably, Black median income growth last year surpassed income growth rates under the Obama administration. There’s still more work to do though. Although Black median income hit a new high, Blacks earned the lowest income level of all groups (just over $45,000 a year).
    Income gains for Blacks translated into real economic mobility. Not only did the poverty rate for Blacks fall to an all time record low in 2019, but it also dipped below 20% for the first time. At the other end of the economic scale, more Black households earned six-figure incomes than the year before.
    The difference now versus during the Obama years is how quickly unemployment is falling. From May to September, the economy added back about 10.6 million jobs, eclipsing the 8.9 million jobs created during President Barack Obama’s eight years.
    Black employment increased by 1.3 million from April to September. It took years for the Black unemployment rate to fall from a recession high of 16.8% in March 2010 back down to 12%, whereas it only took a handful of months during the pandemic, likely because the economy is so resilient.
    This should encourage Americans to believe in a fast rebound to pre-Covid-19 prosperity. Black communities have been hit hard by the pandemic. It’s critical that they recover and we resume tackling long-standing racial gaps in incomes, homeownership and wealth.

    Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) argued Sunday on New York AM WABC 770 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable” that the civil unrest seen in Kenosha, WI, this year in response to the death of Jacob Blake could help President Donald Trump on Election Day. Blake died during a confrontation with police officers in Kenosha.
    Walker, noting how silent the Democratic presidential ticket of Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) was during the unrest, emphasized that suburban voters “are very, very concerned” about the violence they witnessed.
    “Late in the summer, after the DNC after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had been silent about the violence all across the country, finally, we saw the tragic situation in Kenosha, where they burnt much of the business downtown to the ground, and there were tragically two deaths,” Walker told host John Catsimatidis. “Only then did Joe Biden start to murmur anything about speaking about the violence. But I think that turned voters out in Kenosha County, which is a critical county. I carried it each of the times that I won, but it’s a traditionally Democrat area. And I think it sent out a warning sign to a lot of the suburban voters elsewhere in the state, near Milwaukee, who are very, very concerned about their own safety.”
    He continued, “And I think if the president wins, which I hope he does, it will be because of that moment where people started to set aside maybe some of their other issues and realized the safety of themselves and their families was paramount.”

    It’s not surprising that Punchy is so enamored of the polls…..for afterwords. Scratch a progressive….find a closet authoritarian!
    

    The reader added that she has been part of a big TV network/newspaper tracking poll. She certainly did not ask to be; they randomly called her first back in the spring primary season. She was afraid to turn them down and wished she had never answered the first call. They call her once a week to ask her who she’s voting for. She has told them consistently that she’s a Biden voter, and she has been careful to answer all the ancillary questions in a “liberal way” so as not to give them any idea there is a problem. But that’s not what she really believes. Rather, she is terrified of getting on a list somewhere as a Trump voter. When the reader asks her why she is lying to the pollsters, her response: “You Americans are so naive and so trusting. Chairman Mao and the Red Guard did exactly this same kind of thing in so many clever ways. You will get on a list somewhere and when the time comes, your life will be over. I will never put my family through what I went through. That is why I came here in the first place — to get away from all that.”

    “The latest Trump vs. Biden poll shows a much tighter race between former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump with just one day to go,” the pollster reports. “The IBD/TIPP presidential poll suggests Trump has widened his advantage among rural voters, nosed ahead among independents, and narrowed the gap among black and Hispanic voters.”
    “Today’s Trump vs. Biden poll update finds the Democratic challenger leading the Republican incumbent by 3.2 points, 48.8%-45.6%, in a four-way presidential poll of likely voters. Biden’s lead was 5.1 points on Sunday,” the pollster adds.
    Rasmussen also showed a two-point move towards the president over the weekend. What had been a three point race on Friday, with Biden up 49 to 46 percent, is now a single point race, with Biden up 48 to 47 percent, well within the poll’s 2.5 point margin of error.
    On Monday, Rasmussen also put Trump’s job approval rating at a healthy 52 percent, with a 48 percent disapproval. At this same time during his failed first term, Barack Obama sat at just 50 percent approval in this same poll.
    There’s also been movement towards the president in the RealClearPolitics (RCP) poll of polls, which tracks the national average. On Friday, Biden led nationally by an average of 7.8 points — 51.3 to 43.5 percent. That lead dropped to 6.5 points over the weekend.
    It was late deciders, a rush towards Trump over that final weekend, that was one factor in the president’s upset win in 2016. And late deciders can make the difference, especially in a tight race like this one.

For two centuries no one thought that any of that was ‘voter suppression’. Today, when communications and getting around are no problem, our looney lefties have made any limitation to vote early, late, maybe later, with or without registration, with or without citizenship, here or there who cares, as voter suppression.     The head of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce isn’t pleased with the message that Joe Biden is sending to the state’s energy sector by choosing to cap off his campaign with Lady Gaga, who has publicly opposed fracking.
    Lady Gaga is set to take the stage with Joe Biden on Monday in Pittsburgh for the campaign’s final night of festivities before election day. The Grammy and Oscar-winning pop star is a member of the group Artists Against Fracking, which opposes hydraulic fracking as well as natural gas exploration.
    Biden has publicly stated that he would ban fracking and phase out fossil fuels if he is elected president.
    “Calls to ban this industry are shortsighted and send the wrong message. All facets of Pennsylvanian’s diverse energy portfolio have a role to play in moving our economy forward,” PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr said in a statement to Breitbart News.

    “Just learned that Sleepy Joe Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania with Lady Gaga, a proud member of ‘Artists Against Fracking.’ This is more proof that he would ban Fracking and skyrocket your energy prices,” the president tweeted Monday.
    The Trump campaign also issued a statement, saying that the presence of Lady Gaga serves as a “sharp stick in the eye for 600,000 Pennsylvanians who work in the fracking industry.”
