[Pelosi and her team continue to accuse President Trump of having violated laws and the Constitution without providing a shred of evidence or supportive back-up. And their vastly more college-educated leftwing constituency laps it hook, line, and sinker up without ever asking which laws or constitutional provisions the president has violated. As we have observed, it all turns out to be part and parcel of progressive jurisprudence – all allegations from the Left are on their face to be accepted as evidence sufficient for indictment. gjr]

“Do not cede small points in order to keep the peace. The peace will not be kept this way. Cede small points, and you will be expected to cede more. Apologize for things you did not do, and you will be held accountable for those things, and more. This movement is cloaked so beautifully, as if it is a gift of freedom and justice for all. But it is not that. It brings division and destruction. Do not accept the horse at the gates.”

I think I know what’s really going on. Over at KAOS headquarters (otherwise known as Trump Tower), the show runners were recalling the palmy days of the Access Hollywood tape four years ago, when everyone said IT’S OVER!—PUT PENCE AT THE TOP OF THE TICKET NOW! The attempted sequel—the Melania Tapes—bombed, so someone said, “I’ve got it! Let’s go with COVID! Yeah, that’s the ticket!”

RIP Bob Gibson. 😦
REMEMBERING BOB GIBSON
Bob Gibson died this week at the age of 84. Major League baseball’s website has posted a fine tribute to this great pitcher, one of the 20 best starters of all time for my money.
With his seven World Series game wins across three Series, his record-breaking performances in 1968 (after which the pitchers’ mound was lowered), and his unforgettable intimidating presence, Gibson was arguably the most important major leaguer of the 1960s.
(Sandy Koufax was a better pitcher, but he was done after 1966. Willie Mays and Hank Aaron were the dominant hitters, but collectively they played in only one World Series during the 1960s.)
In 1969, it took until the final game of the season for Gibson to notch his 20th win. I wrote about that game here. The following season, Gibson won 23 games and his second Cy Young award.
Even with all of these accomplishments, it’s Gibson fierce competitiveness for which he probably is best remembered. In his book about the 1964 season, David Halberstam lists the things that Gibson, the competitor, would not “permit” opponents to do. One of them was trying to bunt for a hit against him.
Therefore, my favorite Gibson story might not be apocryphal. It goes like this:
In a game against the Dodgers (if I recall correctly), the opposing leadoff batter was a speedy rookie. In his first appearance against Gibson, he bunted for a hit.
Gibson retired the next eight batters before the rookie came up again. Once again, the kid bunted for a hit.
In appearance number 3, Gibson’s first pitch smashed into the rookie’s helmet, knocking him down and nearly out. Gibson took a few steps towards the fallen batter and yelled: “Bunt that, a**h***.”
RIP, Bob Gibson.

The first MBL game I ever saw was Bob Gibson out dueling Don Drysdale 1-0, both went 9 innings. I thought the game was boring. Little did I know I saw too greats going at it. Gibson was in the start his shutout innings streak and went on to set the record for consecutive scoreless lining, consecutive shutout complete games. Think it was something like 49-54 straight innings. Drysdale broke Gibson’s record a year or two later. Boring game. No action, lol.
Remember when Juan Marichal beaned Johnny Roseboro over the head with a baseball bat during the game. Those were the days my friend, we thought they would never end.

re: Nate Silver
IF memory serves me correctly, Silver had Trump at 19% most of the dog days of summer in 2016, then Trump stayed around 22-24% and it wasn’t until the last two weeks or so that Trump hit 32-33-34-32-and 32% chance of grabbing the golden ring in early November, or late late October.

Paul Emery, local News Redirector. Of course I will happily explain internals to you and why internals are of such import. Glad to lend a hand.
Internals have been around awhile, but not for general circulation or public viewing. Orgins trace back to Mother Russia, I believe.
Where to begin? Ok, tilt your head back, visualize internals, click your ruby heels together, reach forth thy hand and pull my finger. See, internals.
Paul, you nailed it! Even a blind squirril finds a nut.
“More specifically, internals may refer to: the internal organs. the gastrointestinal tract.”
Now you know what internals are. There is a grave marker out there somewhere that reads, “In the breeze where I please, not doing that was the death of me”
So, you can grasp the importance of internals, no. BTF, gotta run. It smells like a grunt sandwich in here. Paul, you need to open a window. Come on man.

“According to Johns Hopkins University,” it’s still not as high as April. Yes, many countries are seeing spikes, some not. Different strokes for different folks. Many EU countries are seeing the 2nd wave (still, not a high as April) but the US is still in our first wave. Think S. Korea and Hong Kong are spiking, so S. Korea might be in the second wave where the death rates are dropping and cases going up. Comparing the spikes in August and September to April, 2020 is like comparing apples and Orange Man Bad.
When this whole China Virus thing started, estimates went from 60k dead gringos (US) on the optimistic side to 1.2 to 2 million on the outrageous side. Most folks with brains said at the time that 650k deaths would be the end of Trump and 650k gringo deaths would throw the country into mass chaos. Just too high of a number. Major disruption. Oh, all those numbers were forecasted back then from Jan through August of 2020, aka, the year time forgot. For awhile early on it looked for a few weeks that it may be only 60k deaths by August. That was not meant to be. I remember the day it hit 100k.
