[Pelosi and her team continue to accuse President Trump of having violated laws and the Constitution without providing a shred of evidence or supportive back-up. And their vastly more college-educated leftwing constituency laps it hook, line, and sinker up without ever asking which laws or constitutional provisions the president has violated. As we have observed, it all turns out to be part and parcel of progressive jurisprudence – all allegations from the Left are on their face to be accepted as evidence sufficient for indictment. gjr]

We are looking at different numbers Gregory, My numbers were for General Election votes that showed him down by 8o. The so called job approval numbers don’t mean shit unless they lead to votes which apparently they don’t. Here’s the link to my numbers taken on Wed.

Dimbulb @ 6:26- We don’t know the death count in the home country of the Kung Flu, India (thank God) has so far been spared a major outbreak (lots of interesting speculation here, including mostly HCQ) and the United States has the third largest population in the world. What would you expect, no matter who was in charge? Per capita death rate is not out of line with most European countries and I suspect the Germans are counting differently, most likely in a more rigorous fashion than we.
And Trump is responsible how?

PaulE 557pm – Paul, your response is beyond lame and not very professional. Breitbart didn’t just make a naked assertion that Trump paid millions in taxes, they went through a detailed analysis and cited the tax code’s AMT which Trump could not avoid. Such an analysis deserves more from you than just claiming to discredit the messenger. It is up to you to either submit a counter-analysis or cite one that proves Breitbart wrong. You just tucked tail and ran from this one.
And your 626pm is just plain embarrassing. It displays extreme innumeracy when you don’t understand that to compare any population based stats between countries, say, the US and Sweden, it is ignorant and irrational to cite absolute numbers. When comparing such stats, it is done with rates like ‘per capita’ or ‘per 100,000’. The fact that you didn’t know this and asked “What more do you need to illustrate Trumps incompetence?” says it all about your ability to reason about these things. But more than that, it also speaks volumes about all the “college educated” progressives who are equally innumerate in repeating such questions in the national news outlets. And what does all this say about the millions of Democrat voters who actually believe this bullshit?

First of all the pony tail of ignorance shows he reads nothing on these threads as i posted the exact details of the Prez paying millions in estimated taxes with his standard application for extension to gather documents.
The IRS kept many many millions of estimated tax to apply to future tax bills even though the Prez had operating write offs like interest and expenses as well as carry forward losses.
To say that is above his head is the understatement of the century for a guy who files a 1040ez to get his earned income tax credit. ROFLOL!!!

Trump sees approval rating increase, majority expect him to beat Biden: poll
Gallup released its results on Thursday, claiming that Trump saw his highest approval rating (46%) since May with approvals on his handling of certain issues, other than the economy, below 50%.
The data, which was gathered in the two weeks before the debate, reflected an uptick from the 42% Trump received earlier in September. That increase, the polling company suggested, could be associated with his response to late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death.
“Although the increase of four percentage points in Trump’s latest rating is not statistically significant, the poll’s internals suggest a rise in his support the second half of the Sept. 14-28 field period coincident with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death and lying in state, as well as Trump’s announcing that he would quickly make a nomination to the Supreme Court. This suggests that some viewed his handling of the situation positively,” a press release from Gallup reads.
For comparison, Gallup reported President Obama’s approval rating at 47% and 50% around the same time in 2012.

A CASE STUDY IN PUNITIVE LIBERALISM
A few days ago a liberal columnist for the Seattle Times wrote a good column about the collapse of small business in the downtown core of the Emerald City: “Self-inflicted wounds make Seattle’s business losses worse.” Someone in Seattle’s media is finally getting it:
“Shops were looted, in some cases repeatedly, this past summer. It sullies the cause of social justice protests to link the two together. The looting was pure criminality.
The city’s lack of prosecution for most shoplifting is another big DIY problem. It played heavily into Macy’s decision to close before COVID-19 and is extremely costly for small retailers. Fear of street crime also helped kill the Kress IGA, my neighborhood supermarket. The chronic unsheltered, drug dealers and the mentally ill keep customers away and worry employees.
The loss of Bergman Luggage (and its big neon sign) is especially telling. Owner Hardial Gill said the downtown location had been profitable and the landlord accommodating during the pandemic. But the store faced repeated burglaries, tents on the sidewalk and finally looting. . .
Mayor Jenny Durkan appears uncomfortable interacting with the business community and has lost power to an assertive council. That body is obsessed with defunding the police without a viable Plan B. Its membership is stuffed with career activists and pols, with thin business experience at best.
No wonder the council is hostile to business. Even the smallest shop is exploitative capitalism. The council’s loudest voices are running a “revolution.” Only in a city made so prosperous by hated capitalism could this intellectual Ponzi scheme be tolerated or seem without consequences.”

This summary of a linked news piece about sums up why Trump is dying in the polls and will probably lose the election:
Fed Up in Flyover Country
Donald Trump has alienated many of his former supporters in the heartland. It’s not his policies. It’s him.
“But their distaste might be a telling indicator of why Trump is floundering in polls across the country. It isn’t necessarily about a policy or a broken promise, it’s about Trump as a person. Trump’s bare-knuckled personality—which was on full display at the Tuesday debate—has been his calling card. He has said things that no one else dares, and his base loves him for it. But for this group of former supporters, Trump’s personality has become his biggest liability.”

I just assume that they’re pretty much interchangeable. There’s a whole class of illiterate social media/internet addicts who quickly type a short article every day or so based on their daily web browsing.
I’ve been thinking lately about why people got so stupid (and gullible) in the last decade or so. It isn’t like the internet hasn’t been around for some time. Is there more immediacy in social media than USENET causing feedback loops of crazy? Mobile phones and being online 12 hours/day? Increased acceptability of browsing at work? A less skeptical audience due to it’s greater downmarket movement? As someone with a certain amount of public trust (as News Director of a radio station) it would be interesting to track Paul’s online activity.
Pizzagate and the Russian conspiracy theories show how fast and furious the stupid can be.

More from our racist President. Is there any doubt at this point? Direct quote from Trump:
“By the way, just so we can get this straight, 30 percent of the people in the suburbs are low-income people. Thirty percent of the people in the suburbs are minorities. And so we’re ruining this American dream for everybody,” Trump said.
“They zone you out, they build low-income housing next to your house,” Trump continued. “And then I hear I’m not doing well in the suburbs. I’m not doing well in the suburbs — are you people crazy?”

He’s pointing out that it’s not just affluent white people in the ‘burbs. That there are non-whites and poorer folks there as well.
The Dems plan to start pushing ‘projects’ into the suburbs will end up hurting everyone that lives in the suburbs.
Skin color has no bearing on the quality of people that end up in subsidized housing projects. They ruin the neighborhoods around them and run property values down.
That’s why wealthy white leftys never, ever, ever allow projects anywhere near where they live.

It’s designed to refer to low income people who may need that housing and that includes many people of color since they comprise of a disproportionate number of that demographics.
