[So here’s the drill about the riots. According to the Big Liberal Lie Factory, up until last week there were no riots, only peaceful protests for social justice – ask anybody in the Dem leadership including Bumblebrain. This week this position became ludicrous even for the country’s liberal contingent. So a massive pivot was necessary and pulled off on the Sunday lamestream talk shows. This week the riots are suddenly real, and have been so for some months, all caused by President Trump inciting white nationalists to violence from the White House. Now that’s a more palatable version of reality for all the land's leftists. gjr]

George, I think you aren’t persuading anyone by referring to Quid Pro Joe as “Bumblebrain”, which sounds like a minor Harry Potter character.
There’s still no followup anywhere I can find about changes at The Union following Brian Hamilton’s cryptic goodbye message.

Tuesday Quotes
Insight: “No man who is corrupt, no man who condones corruption in others, can possibly do his duty by the community.” —Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)
Observations: “One need only consider what nearly everyone would be saying, and what the media would be reporting, and how the government would be responding, if a series of Tea Party rallies ‘gave way’ to arson, looting, and wanton destruction. After one episode of Tea Party members and allies beating random pedestrians over the head, stopping traffic at gun point, and lighting vehicles on fire, most people would be prepared to label the whole movement a terroristic enterprise. After the second episode, Tea Party leaders would be rounded up by federal agents. After six years of this? Well, that’s literally unimaginable.” —Matt Walsh
Non compos mentis: “The president is willfully fanning the flames of this violence. … He simply not only won’t act to stop the violence in the streets, but he will try to send federal National Guard forces or others to aggravate it if he can.” —Adam Schiff arguing both that Trump will do nothing to stop the violence and that he’s responsible for it
Demo-gogue, Part I: “Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is reelected?” —Joe Biden (Translation: If you don’t elect me, we will burn this country down.)
Demo-gogue, Part II: “Ask yourself: Do I look like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters? Really?” —Joe Biden (No, but that is exactly what your puppeteers look like.)
Race bait: “They have deputized all white people to murder us.” —black University of North Carolina professor Tressie McMillan Cottom
Village idiot: “This is about racism in America. White people don’t know. They don’t know enough. And they need to be coached up and they need to be educated about what the heck is going on in the world. … We went down this other road here and followed economics — rich white guys making money — and they put together a system of slavery, and we’ve never left it, really. It’s never gone away.” —Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll
And last… “I wonder if the NFL would allow players to put names like David Dorn or other murdered, black police officers on their helmets? Or are they only allowing criminals and thugs?” —Charlie Kirk

Did you guys know that trumpler told Laura Ingraham that there was a super-scary extra- secret plot that “somebody”, he didn’t say who, had uncovered. “We had somebody get on a plane from a certain city this weekend, it was almost completely loaded with thugs, wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms with gear and this and that.” He added that the flight was full of “the looters, the anarchists, the rioters” and they were going around the US causing trouble.
Trumpler also said he thinks the Easter Bunny is gay commie and he will break ground on a new hotel on the moon which he will lease to the Space Force to use as a base.
This is a test..one of these statements is real and one is made up…can you tell the difference? which do you think is the true statement ..#1 or #2

Meanwhile back in the real world –
(Bloomberg) — Investors should position for the rising odds of President Donald Trump winning re-election, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Betting odds that earlier had Trump well behind challenger Joe Biden are now nearly even — largely due to the impact on public opinion of violence around protests, as well as potential bias in polls, said strategist Marko Kolanovic.
Based on past research, there could be a shift of five to 10 points in polls from Democrats to Republicans if the perception of protests turns from peaceful to violent, he said.

scenes 8:31 – The problem is the local DAs not prosecuting the rioters. If the locals like that then it’s what they get. If they don’t like it then they can do something about it.
I’m not sure I necessarily like this move. Was it done before the state police moved in or after the fact? Was it done just for the rioters arrested for damaging the fed property or anyone the state police arrested? I’d never heard of this before and I’d like to know more. Portland can rot in it’s own puke for all I care. If they like violence and property destruction, then that’s what they’ll get. I understand from what I’ve read that the feds agreed to pull out from defending fed property on the condition of the state troopers coming in. If the ‘deputizing’ halo was solely for arrests stemming from destruction of fed property then OK, otherwise – I’m leery of what that could lead to.

Yes, I’m aware of that. At least in terms of those few actually arrested.
My guess is that the primary purpose of deputizing the State Police is to change the venue for any charges involving assaulting police. I wouldn’t look at property protection as an underlying purpose.
I guess that the magic incantation in the window didn’t work.

OREGON SHERIFFS REJECT FECKLESS GOVERNOR’S CALL FOR ASSISTANCE IN PORTLAND
Oregon sheriffs have rejected a request by Gov. Kate Brown to send personnel and resources to help “keep the peace and protect free speech” in Portland. It’s not that the sheriffs don’t want to help keep the peace. It’s just that they don’t believe Portland is serious about accomplishing this.
Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts said, through a spokesperson, that in Portland “it’s about changing policy, not adding resources.” Truer words have seldom been spoken.
Roberts explained:
“The same offenders are arrested night after night, only to be released by the court and not charged with a crime by the DA’s Office. The next night they are back at it, endangering the lives of law enforcement and the community all over again.“
Why should Roberts put the safety of his men on the line in a jurisdiction not his own that operates so stupidly?

Later in the interview, Biden shifted to Venezuela, where he mistakenly read the words “topline message” before describing President Trump’s existing policy as an “abject failure.”
“I understand that Cuba along with Russia and China has contributed to the political impasse in Venezuela as well. What’s the president doing? Look, Venezuela topline message is President Trump’s policy is an abject failure,” Biden said:

No wonder creepy gampa joe suddenly want to go to Kenosha –
What did change, however, were the head-to-head numbers between the two candidates. In late July, Biden led Trump by a decent margin in the suburbs: 48 percent to 41 percent. In late August, the same suburban Americans told Yahoo News and YouGov that they preferred Trump over Biden, 45 percent to 43 percent. That’s a 9-point swing.
Likewise, in July, 39 percent of these suburbanites predicted that Biden would win the election, compared with just 34 percent for Trump. In August they reversed course, with 46 percent picking Trump as the likely winner and only 41 percent choosing Biden.
Perhaps as a result, suburban Americans are now evenly divided (42 percent yes to 42 percent no) over whether Trump should send federal agents to deal with protests in cities. In July, they said no by a 10-point margin (47 percent to 37 percent). By the same token, suburbanites say the “breakdown of law and order” (54 percent) is a bigger problem than “systemic racism” (46 percent).

‘Violent’ Antifa ‘Commander’ Armed With Flamethrower Cries In ‘Fetal Position’ After Police Take Him Down, Report Says
https://www.dailywire.com/news/violent-antifa-commander-armed-with-flamethrower-cries-in-fetal-position-after-police-take-him-down-report-says
Reminds me of the 72 Munich Olympics when the PLO murderers took Israeli athletes and blew them up in the helicopter. When captured and put on the ground, one of the ragheads grabbed the German officer by the ankles, starting crying like a baby, and peed his pants. He was scared shitless that the Germans were going to do to him what he did to others. Peed his pants and begged for mercy, slobbering all over the officer’s shoes.
The officer said that Banta (Antifa Commander Red) “dropped into the fetal position and began crying.” Mommie! Tough guy behind the black mask and clothing.

Better late than never: Wednesday’s Daily Quotes
Insight: “Considering the natural lust for power so inherent in man, I fear the thirst of power will prevail to oppress the people.” —George Mason (1725-1792)
Political futures: “In 2016, Trump flipped the Great Lakes ‘blue wall’ states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin due to the pull of cultural and economic concerns. No state embodied that shift better than Wisconsin. If security concerns in Kenosha persist, Nov. 3 may not shape up to be a good night for Democrats.” —Salena Zito
For the record: “No. … I want to leave it to law enforcement. But my supporters are wonderful, hard-working, tremendous people. And they turn on their television set, and they look at a Portland, or they look at a Kenosha… They’re looking at all of this, and they can’t believe it.” —Donald Trump when asked whether he wants his supporters to “confront” left-wing protesters
Nailed it: “You could wear a Biden hat [in] any city in the country [and] no one would do anything. That’s the difference. That’s the double standard. … These are not conservatives doing this. They are Joe Biden voters burning down their cities.” —Donald Trump Jr.
Observations: “There will be less violence if Joe Biden’s campaign stops bailing violent rioters out of jail.” —Senator Tom Cotton
Braying jackass: “Fear is a good motivating factor. This president knows it. But this is the dangerous thing: In exploiting people’s fear and anxiety, what he’s doing is possibly going to cause a civil war in this country, and I don’t necessarily mean a violent one. That certainly can happen. Actually, I think we’re in the middle of one right now, where we can’t agree on anything.” —CNN’s Don Lemon
Um, what? “COVID has taken this year — just since the outbreak — has taken more than 100 year — look, here’s — the lives, it’s just, it’s just, I mean think about it — more lives this year than any other year.” —Joe Biden
And last… “So Pelosi gets a blowout in a hair salon (without a mask), but YOU are not allowed. That’s all you need to know about the politicians wrecking our economy in the name of COVID-19.” —Liz Wheeler

I was thinking about that story, looking at his former arrests (and subsequent bail-outs by Biden staffers or no-bail situations), and his pictures.
It occurred to me that people are getting it wrong. It’s not so much that AntifaBLM is made up of wusses so let’s laugh at them, but that a lot of it is made up of the genuinely mentally ill. The problem is that the control loops that used to hold these people in check are largely gone. To some extent society has decided to encourage and even train for mental problems.
Which brings me to my current working theory, that this whole general story of unrest is being told inside-out. It’s easy to find a few hundred hell-raising revolutionaries in a city of any size, and God knows the local underclass is happy to loot a luxury goods store given the opportunity. The real story and driver here is the insinuation of remarkably dangerous people in government, the press, educational institutions.
When you look at how radical Bill De Blasio (Warren Wilhelm) is, I don’t much care if he’s throwing city money at his wife, compared to his predecessors…when you look at characters like Lori Lightfood (aka ‘Groot’) or Jo Ann Hardesty of Portland…or read about struggle sessions at schools, .gov departments, and large companies, it’s pretty obvious that the danger is a lot bigger than the street soldiers in Portland. I hate to say it, but burning buildings is just a small side show.
The sad thing is that we are depending on one guy with a twitter account to single-handedly stand in the way of this. I’m afraid that’s not enough. Oh well, maybe some day traditional liberals will detect the changeling they have nestled in their bosom.

Can’t disagree with you. Not one word. Rioting and attacking police is just the click bait stuff. Small side show as you put it. True.
Just the fact that one man and his Twitter machine is still standing at the end of the day is perhaps the most remarkable feat I have seen in…many many moons.
Your current working hypothesis of cause and effect of using the mentally ill is not without precedent. The Nazis scoured the streets looking for the hardened ones, the criminally insane, the ‘A Clockwork Orange’ hooligan types (the violent) and used them to be guards and mass executioners in the concentration camps. Perfect fit.
It’s not that the street fighting men and the scowling females are pussies. We (moi) laughed at the incompetence of the Shoe Bomber trying to light a bomb in his shoe with matches that weren’t up to the task followed by the Christmas Butt Crack Bomber in Detroit. Comic relief of a very serious and deadly Terrorist concern. Yeah, those mostly white kids down in the concrete jungles carrying on about social justice and being tough guys in reality look mostly like a class field trip to a museum or something. Tour guide and a shuttle bus image. But this is a field day the criminally insane standing behind them. Did think is was rather clever to stand as a Wall of Moms as a human shield to protect protestors, only to remove those yellow tee shirts and reveal what was underneath: deception and violence. Hiding behind momma’s skirts is ‘nothing new under the sun.’
I have heard it argued through the years that America is a schizophrenic country…from serious commentators to the Comedy Club. “It’s what makes the American people the American people.”, haha. More than a grain of truth.
I don’t think they were talking about the mentally ill and/or criminally insane. I am revisiting my former working theory of mass hysteria phenomenons. Salem.

BillT; “The Nazis scoured the streets looking for the hardened ones, the criminally insane,….”
and no doubt the criminally insane hied themselves down to the Nazi recruiting office, at least the ones who weren’t signing up with the hammer ‘n sickle gang the next street down. In the Land of the Blighted, the unhinged man is King.
I was considering the side effects of the China Plague in terms of job loss. We’ve gone from an era where practically everyone did something of real, concrete use to one where many jobs can be dispensed with. A double whammy of automation and a drop-off in the value of Things that Do Not Matter. Telemeetings replace airlines. People discover that eating out is worse than eating in. The production of word salad documents by local non-profits for sale to the gubmint might fall off the budget in favor of roads or fire protection. People begin home schooling in order to avoid crazy-person indoctrination or schools assign more students per tele-teacher. The economy sloughs off excess and people live a little smaller.
My guess is that the friskier part of the Left is over-represented in job categories that might be missing for a while. It isn’t like the plumbers or foundry workers will be out on the streets fighting with The Man, it’ll be the laid-off guy who makes $5 coffee drinks.

So now Trump is breaking the law by encouraging people to vote twice in North Carolina. I say bust him.
“After arriving in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Trump told local station WECT that voters in the state should test their state’s election system by voting once by mail, then trying to vote a second time in person.
“Let them send it in and let them go vote, and if the system is as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote,” Trump said.”
Looks like Trump broke the law.
“”It is illegal to vote twice in an election,” said Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the North Carolina State Board of Elections. Bell said state law made it a “Class I felony” for a voter, “with intent to commit a fraud to register or vote at more than one precinct or more than one time … in the same primary or election.”
“Attempting to vote twice in an election or soliciting someone to do so also is a violation of North Carolina law,” Brinson Bell added.
