[In the intro to the last Sandbox, my invitation to readers to discuss the dollar-value of human life went over like a turd in a punchbowl. It appears that the best approach to discussing the value of human lives is just to bloviate with a lot of virtue signalling thrown in. That's supposed to divert the reader from discovering that the writer has no idea what he's talking about. Public policies are supposed to be made with some regard to a broadly agreed on dollar-value of a human life, but only, I guess, if the public gives a damn. Oh well. gjr]

BillT 746am – Mr Tozer, every so often we see published claims like the NYP post that you cite. Were even a smidgen of such a connection between Obama and Russiagate true, it would and should be a bombshell in our polity – news outlets worldwide would pick up on the story and shout it in their headlines in anticipation of its second party corroboration and the political, if not prosecutorial, events to follow. But there is none of that happening. This supposed revelation is successfully, if not intensely, ignored by literally everyone on the right and left. The Left’s deliberate dismissals of this we can, perhaps, easily explain away (but even there some progressive outlet might be willing to pick it up, if for nothing else save not winding up with egg on its face when/if the shit hits the fan). But why the deafening silence from the Right, especially from what shards remain of the Republican leadership?
In this desperate election year, why do you think this “fresh evidence” is not causing a ripple? Is Obama’s involvement in Russiagate really so dead that nothing can resurrect it? Thoughts, anyone?

Russiagate was to get rid of Trump. Pure and simple. Nothing more, nothing less.. The whole operation is now to be forgotten, like it never happened.
It’s all about protecting Biden now. Gotta hide his obvious mental rot. Biden’s last “live” broadcast, was cut the second after he said “we have 120 million dead from the virus”.
Biden could be in Hospice, and the LIBS would still be trying to get him elected.

“WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr dismissed President Trump’s attempts to rebrand the Russia investigation as a criminal plot engineered by former President Barack Obama, saying on Monday that he expected no charges against either Mr. Obama or former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. as a result of an investigation into how their administration handled Russian election interference.
“As long as I’m attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends,” Mr. Barr said”.

Since Russiagate has been orders of magnitude more destructive, expansive, and involved more extensive conspiracies and illegal acts than Watergate (one bungled burglary), why was the DoJ so aggressively involved in “partisan politics” then but not now? Aren’t the allegations and the attendant evidence gathered against Team Obama much more condemning (talk about blatant ‘abuse of power’) and actually beyond partisan politics in the same manner as apparently were those against Team Nixon?

Apparently the Repubs require a frustratingly higher bar to indict. Note that the existing evidence is not being disputed, Barr just wants more of it.

Barr said a long time ago and has been steady consistent that he has no intention to look at either Joe Biden or Obama from the criminality- DOJ point of view. Durham is checking into people whose names we might recognize involved in malfeasance and violations, but not going after neither Obama or Biden. No political influence, no opening up new investigations into Biden. No way would have Barr ever opened an FBI investigation into Trump on the evidence presented. You can’t open up an FBI investigation unless there is evidence presented of wrong doing. And the DOJ cannot even prosecute any case they do not have a chance of winning. That is if you are doing it my the book. No fishing expeditions allowed. Barr is out to restore trust in the DOJ and FBI again, no matter whose toes are stepped on. Restore trust that will take decades to restore. Real Justice is seeking the truth and the truth-justice does not care about not opening an investigation or closing one down (based on verifiable available evidence at the time ) or one’s politics. Let the chips fall where they may.
Comey is a familiar name. He sent an FBI agent to check out Steele’s story by interviewing Steele’s source of info he cited to the FBI. The agent came back and the relayed the main source used in the Dossier (and another) told him that Steele is full of shit, grossly embellishes things, and is not one to believed, he made it up, and “I never said that” and the Russian collusion thing was baloney. With that knowlege, the FISC warrant application was filed.
No way would Barr allow that to happen on his watch. A man who does things by book,
Barr has consistently also added the caveat “unless there is some big evidence uncovered…”
Barr out. We are on it!…and supplying the Senate and House and the DOJ with findings for their files.
PS: go fornicate thyself…again

Dunno what the point is, the superdoopermajority California government has kicked amazing ass in it’s own state, no need for improvement.
Average SAT score: California 1076 Alabama SAT: 1166
Firearms death rate / 100,000: California: 7.5 Arizona: 5
Pollution Health Risk Ranking: California: #19 South Dakota: #7
To me, it’s the perfect chance for the Left to strut it’s stuff. No one can take credit for the beach, so the rest of it is up to the California gubmint.
The real question is whether CA can be #1 for lootings, mob mayhem, cancel culture, communists in coffee shops. There’s some hope in that case.

The Washington Post tried to push back on President Donald Trump’s claim that the most dangerous cities in America are run by Democrats – but the graph provided largely proved Trump’s point.
“Trump said Wednesday that “every one” of America’s “20 most dangerous” cities “are Democrat run.” WaPo’s analysis headline wrote that “Trump keeps claiming that the most dangerous cities in America are all run by Democrats. They aren’t.”
The article, however, did not provide a single city run by a Republican in the top 20 most violent cities per capita. According to data WaPo gathered to disprove Trump, 19 of the 20 cities with the most violent crime per 10,000 residents are run by Democrats. The lone city on the per capita list not run by a Democrat is run by an Independent.”

GAMING OUT THE LEFT’S RACE STRATEGY FROM HERE
“But the problem for the left is that at Berkeley, Harvard, and other elite universities, not enough officially sanctioned minorities (meaning blacks and hispanics) score well enough to qualify for admission on a straight-up basis, while too many Asians (who are increasingly considered “white” by the identity-mongers) score so highly on the SATs that Harvard, Yale, UC Berkeley, and other elite universities could fill perhaps 40 percent of their freshman classes right now with Asians. UCLA has for a while now been said to be the “University of Caucasians Lost among Asians.”
Meanwhile, there is a torpedo in the water heading for the current “diversity” regime of race-based preferences. I suspect that the drive to jettison the SAT is a pre-emptive move in anticipation of an eventual adverse Supreme Court ruling in the lawsuit over Harvard’s discrimination against Asian applicants. If the regime of “diversity” and affirmative action admission is to survive, colleges will have to come up with a new scheme of “holistic” admission screening to get around the problem of meritocracy. Better to get a head start.“

The details about Hillary’s “lead” in the polls in ’16. Looks pretty grim.
Biden currently leads by 9.6 over Trump four months before the election. Here’s the scoop on Hillary in ’16
“some people have dismissed Biden’s lead by pointing out that Hillary Clinton also led in most polls of the 2016 election (Clinton, obviously, ended up losing to Trump). While this is true, Clinton’s lead was much smaller. Applying our current polling-average methodology to 2016 polls, Clinton led national polls by an average of about 4.0 points four months before the 2016 election, and 3.8 points on Election Day itself. So while a normal-sized polling error was enough to throw the 2016 election to Trump, it would take a much bigger — and much unlikelier — polling error for Trump to be ahead right now.
Of course, Trump became president because he won the Electoral College despite losing the national popular vote. But if Biden wins the popular vote by 9.6 points, his current lead, Trump would be extremely unlikely to pull off the same trick. In our state-by-state polling averages, Biden currently leads in states worth 368 electoral votes, far more than the 270 needed to win.”
