[The value of anything is highly subjective, always determined by a 'seller' and 'buyer' when they strike a deal. Therefore the value of any given 'thing', e.g. human life, varies according to who is the human and who is the 'buyer'. Any values set by third parties with no skin in the game are arbitrary and quickly circumvented by/in markets. So consider the back window yellow diamond sign that reads 'Drive carefully, Baby inside', and another one reading 'Drive carefully, young PhD in neuro-science inside', or even one that reads 'Drive carefully, Community organizer inside'. How would you rate the implied value of these lives? to you? to society? gjr]

This is the “wisdom” that Trump offered us in a two week span. Direct quotes:
“President Donald Trump on Tuesday insisted that he had never underestimated or underappreciated the seriousness of coronavirus. But for two months, he and some members of his administration downplayed the global threat even as world events and government and outside experts made clear that the health and economic impacts of this disease would be dire.
Here are some of those comments.
Feb 26
“And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”
— Donald Trump
Feb 28
“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”
— Donald Trump
Then two weeks later Trum[p writes this:
March 17
“I’ve always known this is a real — this is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”
— Donald Trump
Precise and accurate examples of Trumps lack of leadership because he didn’t then have a clue what was going on and neither does he now.

What you should be asking yourself Siri is why the Republicans stick with such a blithering idiot as Trump. Why can’t they nominate a conservative with intelligent compassionate values? They do exist. Instead they stick with Trump who is going to lose because he can’t help being an idiot. His latest thing saying he was going to cut back on testing was unbelievably stupid and then he tries to say it was a joke. Well it’s not a joke to the people who are sick and dying from this virus and he doesn’t seem to care.

“Let me ask you if I am hearing you correctly Scenes. You are saying that electing Trump is essential for the “simple survival for both individuals and civilization”. Is that your assessment?”
Heck, I’ll even toss out an answer to the guy who never answers anything himself.
Sufficient? No. Essential? Yes.
A Biden victory (well, a VP Rice victory) results in a permanent victory for the social media and search engine monopolies with their obvious bias. A victory for the 17 intelligence agencies including their own kinks and love of foreign wars. The start of near-unlimited mass immigration. Not to mention the aforementioned burning of history, buildings, and careers. It’s even happening in Nevada City as we speak.
The plague and the economy are perfect opportunities, given the imbalance introduced, for Year Zero to begin.
Big, oafish, clumsy Trump is currently the largest shield between traditional America and whatever Purge the crack KVMR news team has in mind for everyone. He serves as a rallying point and that really can’t be minimized. Since I doubt he has a strong central core of belief, his part in the play was something of an accident but you can’t deny it.
The Right (ie. average people circa 1990-2000ish and before) has a vulgar guy with a twitter account, the Left has a new religion based on destruction as a strategy and tactic. Any smart person not on board with the Blue Mob is going to go to ground in terms of social media, public speaking, perhaps even dealing with their children, the minute that an Uncle Joe administration starts.

Daily Quotes:
Insight: “We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we’re in a time when there are no heroes, they just don’t know where to look.” —Ronald Reagan
Upright: “Contemporary American society is suffering from many crises, but one stands out above all the others: We have a crisis of gratitude. It’s time for Americans to fall in love with America again.” —Josh Hammer
Going out with a whimper: “It is both sad and dangerous that John Bolton’s final public role is that of a traitor who damaged America by violating his sacred trust with its people.” —Secretary of State Mike Pompeo
Food for thought: “There is no ‘nice’ way to arrest a potentially dangerous, combative suspect. The police are our bodyguards, our hired fists, batons and guns. We pay them to do our dirty work of protecting us, the work we’re too afraid, too unskilled or too civilized to do ourselves. We expect them to keep the bad guys out of our businesses, cars, and houses, out of our faces. We want them to ‘take care of the problem,’ we just don’t want to see how it’s done.” —Charles H. Webb, PhD
For the record: “What we should have learned from the Trump administration’s daft and destructive little trade war with China is that we cannot bully our way into success with tariffs. The U.S. balance of trade in the month of January 2017, when Trump took office, was –$65.6 billion, and in January of 2020 it was –$65.5 billion. (The so-called trade deficit is the wrong metric, but it is the one the president has chosen.) Total U.S. exports were lower in 2019 than they were in 2018.” —Kevin Williamson
Belly laugh: “When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people. You’re going to find more cases. So I said to my people, ‘Slow the testing down, please!’” —Donald Trump, joking with supporters at his Tulsa rally
Non compos mentis: “The American people are owed answers about why President Trump wants less testing when experts say much more is needed.” —Nancy Pelosi, deliberately missing the joke
Demo-gogues: “If people don’t have adequate access to the ballot, I mean, that’s the stuff on which revolutions are built. If you begin to deny people the capacity of your democracy to work, even the Founding Fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, we have an inherent right to challenge that. And I’m worried that increasingly, people are disaffected.” —John Kerry (“Thing is, he’s right. Not because there will be voter fraud, but because people like John Kerry will tell everyone there was.” —Keith Koffler)

““His goal here is to ensure that businesses, as they rehire coming out of the coronavirus economic hit, that they have to hire American workers first,” said Ken Cuccinelli, the deputy secretary at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The regulation change is being announced on June 22 alongside an executive order that reduces the inflow of blue-collar and white-collar migrants into U.S. jobs.”

More positive cases on Trumps staff in Tulsa. Interview with Dr Vin Gupta:
“Two more Trump advance team members test positive for COVID-19 after Tulsa rally
“Given their job description,” Brian Williams said to Dr. Vin Gupta, “by nature as advance people, those are the folks who fly in early, they do security, they arrange the motorcade, they do the signage, they do seat selections, all of it, one can assume they were in Tulsa for days in advance, your reaction to this and is this just the tip of the iceberg?”
“Absolutely, Brian. This is the worst-case scenario,” said Dr. Gupta. “We knew this was going to happen. We begged the president, ‘don’t do this.’ On-air, saying ‘Please, don’t do this.’ At least have it outside because we knew that there were going to be individuals positive unfortunately on his own team that would then be potential superspreaders. What you saw two nights ago was horrific. A bunch of individuals not wearing masks, and then you have a president who said we should be slowing down testing, we should be testing everybody in that arena, now, a week from now and then doing contact tracing. The president said, let’s slow down testing — which is criminal. Public health malpractice at this point. This is horrific. I’m right now in an ICU caring for COVID patients. This is not what we want to be hearing. We’re worried about the Tulsa situation. As I understand it, this isn’t going to be the first of its kind”

Well, it looks like a Biden landslide, for sure. It’s over. Put a forth in it. No conceivable path. Ain’t no way Trump will get re-elected. Trump should drop out now, save himself the embarrassment, and let Pence finish out his term.
Did I get the narrative right? Trump should just throw up his hands and quit? It’s a tad more complicated than that. Wee bit. Still June, plenty of time. At least we here can savor a scrap to keep our hopes alive. R funded poll. Trump up a point over Biden in North Carolina. Maybe two points. A ray of light. Better than a participation trophy.

RE George 4:25
The I way I view polls is how they compare to themselves-what the movement is. Also I follow polling averages rather than focus on one favorable or dis favorable poll. What these averages show is Trump is in a big slump at this time and if the election were held today he’d probably lose. RCP has him down by 9.5, his worst showing head to head with Biden since Dec 2019 and Nate Silver’s Trump approval ratings have him down by 14, his worst numbers since Jan 2019.
Can Trump still win? Sure he can but he has to turn things around and have more positive numbers. Those RR contributors, yourself included, that ignore these numbers are fooling yourselves. The numbers have to come up. They did improve when he ran in ’96 and he won. That has to happen again. He’s likely to shake up his campaign staff after Saturdays debacle which by all observations have him furious.

During his opening monologue Monday, Tucker Carlson said Americans should stop pretending the November election is a contest between Donald Trump and Joe Biden because, as he put it, “there is no Joe Biden.”
“The Joe Biden you remember no longer exists,” Carlson said. “The babbling husk you see may have the same name and similar features, but behind the mask there is nothing but a jumbled collection of talking points from the 70s. ‘Turn on your record player, no malarkey’. The candidate has no independent thoughts of his own.”
OK Emery,, care to say what your LIBS will do to restore law and order?

“They did improve when he ran in ’96 and he won. That has to happen again”

Good catch Fish,
Typo: “They did improve when he ran in 2016”
I was trying to say something positive about Trump and botched it. I guess I just can’t do it.
You don’t have to pay attention to me fish but if you are a Trump supporter you better have a close look at his numbers which are pretty grim as we speak.
