[The value of anything is highly subjective, always determined by a 'seller' and 'buyer' when they strike a deal.  Therefore the value of any given 'thing', e.g. human life, varies according to who is the human and who is the 'buyer'.  Any values set by third parties with no skin in the game are arbitrary and quickly circumvented by/in markets.  So consider the back window yellow diamond sign that reads 'Drive carefully, Baby inside', and another one reading 'Drive carefully, young PhD in neuro-science inside', or even one that reads 'Drive carefully, Community organizer inside'.  How would you rate the implied value of these lives?  to you? to society? gjr]

RobertC 915am – Your continued attempts to engage in a real discussion are admirable, but still pathetic. But let’s give it a try.
It is the historical Left, starting with the Bolshevik Revolution, that started calling Germany’s nationalist socialists the Right. Why? Because they competed for power all over west Europe with the international socialists, i.e. communists. The press at the time was already leaning toward the communists and fell into line, academe was next, and so the misunderstanding continues to this day that Hitler was the posterchild rightwinger. More nuanced historians have long disputed this jaundiced labeling. The bottom line is that the Left is an umbrella label that covers all collectivist ideologies – belief systems of governance which promote governments by the elites, governments that grow and control ever larger sectors of society in which the individual is diminished and consigned to membership in a class to be homogeneously disposed of and upon. As RR has pointed out for years, the correct understanding of the ‘Right’ label is one under which ideologies gather that celebrate the individual, free enterprise, open markets, capitalism to organize economies, and the reduction of governments to function only in the few spheres where people need to form minimal collectives – e.g. the military, maintenance of major infrastructure used in common, agencies for food and medical safety, … . The hallmark of a rightist is that he always seeks new ways to minimize the public sector (including corporatism), and maximize the private sector. I know that this is a lot for a leftist to digest, but give it a try. Remember, you don’t have to accept a rightist ideology, but only understand the distinction between Right and Left in order to productively participate in the discussion. More here –
    https://rebaneruminations.typepad.com/rebanes_ruminations/2013/02/ideologies-and-governance-a-structured-look.html
And none of this elevates the Republican Party as having cracked the code on perfecting rightwing governance. In fact, they are currently a very lame repository for the political allegiances of the Right, but a hell of a lot better than the Democrats, who are in a mad rush toward a fundamental transformation of America using the playbook from the Bolshevik Revolution. (Now why do I see images of water off a duck’s back?)

George 9:49 – “A couple of months ago I proposed a betting scheme on VP candidates…”
A couple of months of national and world events right now scare me off of predicting anything to any degree of certainty.
Look at what happened to one of the former top VP possibles in the last few weeks.
    ‘Hero to zero’ Amy.
At this point, I wouldn’t rule out Biden picking Stacey Abrams. Her greatest asset would be that she’d be the best insurance Biden would have against being edged out once he’s elected. Wasn’t that Biden’s best quality as a VP pick?

I think I’ll find an online betting site and put in some Rice money. The designated charity will be ‘me’. She’s the right race to please the (D) base, we live in our new race-based world after all, but doesn’t look black enough to scare off the independents. She’s already said that she’ll do it, plus she’ll be backed by the Deep State and MSM.

    Daily Quotes
Insight: “All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward.” —Ellen Glasgow (1873-1945)
Observations: “Once a cultural revolution gets going, there can be no contextualization of the past, no allowance for human frailty, no consideration of weighing evil vs. good. Eventually, the architects of cultural upheavals always make two miscalculations. One, they presume that destroying things will never apply to themselves, given their loud virtue signaling. Two, if they are fingered by the mob, they assume they can somehow use their clout and influence to win exemption. In other words, once cultural revolutions turn anarchic and eat their own, they lose support. When quiet sympathizers conclude that they too may targeted, to survive they turn on their former icons.” —Victor Davis Hanson
The bottom line: “Gender identity is not tied to biological sex. Trans activists will say as much. To expand the term, Gorsuch emptied the term of any stable meaning. It is circuitous nonsense and a metaphysical bait and switch. He may not have intended this, but it’s what he did.” —Andrew T. Walker
The sad truth: “This week the Supreme Court did more damage to the rule of law and the Constitution than the rioters in the streets.” —Mark Levin
For the record: “Stop lecturing me. [Democrats] had eight years under President Obama to do the things in the Justice and Policing Act — and 90% of it you never brought up.” —Senator Lindsey Graham
Demo-gogues: “Eight years ago this week, we protected young people who were raised as part of our American family from deportation. Today, I’m happy for them, their families, and all of us. We may look different and come from everywhere, but what makes us American are our shared ideals and now to stand up for those ideals, we have to move forward and elect @JoeBiden and a Democratic Congress that does its job, protects DREAMers, and finally creates a system that’s truly worthy of this nation of immigrants once and for all.” —Barack Obama
Grand delusions: “The Supreme Court — who would’ve thought would have so many good decisions in one week?” —Chuck Schumer
Non compos mentis: “You ought to marry into a family of 5 or more sisters… You know why that’s the reason? One of them always loves ya.” —Joe Biden
And last… “For the last 60 years, American liberals have promised African Americans that their policies would make things better. They were wrong and their policies have failed miserably. That’s why the Left has to spread hatred and division. And that’s why they’re lying about this country and its history. They have nothing positive to offer today. Their only hope is to persuade Americans to give up and turn on each other.” —Laura Ingraham

Looks like wire fraud can be added to the multitude of crimes Trump and his campaign are accused of.
“A well-known former special counsel is accusing the Trump campaign of engaging in “wire fraud,” and another well-known attorney is backing up his claim.
Norm Eisen made the wire fraud allegation in response to a tweet from former Obama White House Director of Communications Jennifer Palmieri. Eisen is a former White House Special Counsel for Ethics and Government Reform, a former U.S. ambassador, and served as a counsel for Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
The tweet from the Trump campaign signed by Trump Jr
“My father asked me to text you. He reached out to 100 patriots to join the Trump 100 Club. You’re the ONLY 1 who didn’t join. Join NOW,” it reads, followed by a URL that links to a Republican fundraising site, WinRed.

This is the liability that Trump is assuming for his self serving rally in Tulsa.
Top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci warned White House officials of the serious health risks posed by the massive Trump rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this Saturday, NBC News reported on Friday.
Dr. Deborah Birx, the COVID-19 response coordinator of President Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force, also raised concerns about the rally, two sources familiar with the discussions told NBC.

Good read. Scandal ridden DA fighting for his political life, turns on cops and against justice. Andrew McCarthy
‘Brooks Shooting: The Political Prosecutor Caves In to the Mob’
“In an outrageous trumping up of a criminal case — to describe this as mere “overcharging” would be woefully insufficient — Fulton County prosecutor Paul Howard Jr. has charged former police officer Garrett Rolfe with felony murder in connection with the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks.
The killing of Brooks, who was violently resisting arrest and attempting to flee, is still under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). But in the wake of George Floyd’s recent killing by Minneapolis police officers, the Black Lives Matter demagogues refuse to wait for evidence-based conclusions. They will tolerate no storyline other than the slanderous fiction that we are all expected not just to abide but endorse: Institutionally racist cops are hunting down black men.
So prosecutor Howard, did not wait for the GBI to finish its probe. The mob was demanding a scalp, so he gave them a scalp.
Howard got his in-house investigator to sign off on arrest affidavits. They charge Rolfe with felony murder, in addition to several other charges. In Georgia, felony murder is a death-penalty offense. The homicide theory of felony murder is that, while the offender does not specifically intend to cause death, he does intentionally commit a felony from which death results. In this instance, Howard alleges that the underlying felony was aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The allegation is ludicrous. That is why Howard rushed to get it done before any investigative findings could contradict him. He is in a fight for political survival: trailing in his reelection bid while facing sexual-harassment accusations by two women who worked in his office. There are also allegations that he violated campaign-finance laws. The state ethics commission is looking into those.
Under this corruption cloud, he has taken stock of our mob moment. His best shot, he apparently decided, is to run against law enforcement.“
