[Apologies for letting the 2jun20 Sandbox get out of hand with all of its misplaced comments that I should have deleted as they appeared.  Here I’m talking about the pandemic and George Floyd response comments that had homes under my other topical commentaries.  I’ll try to do a much better job in this sandbox to delete all misplaced comments immediately before they become lengthy discussion threads.  And thanks for your support.  gjr]

Yes, it should be taken for granted that politicians of both parties stretch the truth when expedient . In this case my subject material was Ted Cruz so I thought it appropriate to share Trumps opinion of the man., Like everything else expressed by our Liar in Chief what he says is contextual and serves his needs at any given time. George, are we not to believe a word he says?

The Judiciary Committee, meanwhile, met to consider more than 50 additional subpoenas, but postponed action until next week.”

Not all “military” agree with rabid dog Mattis.
    https://dailycaller.com/2020/06/04/retired-marine-cpt-john-m-dowd-mattis-lafayette-park-protesters/
““I slept on your statement and woke up appalled and upset,” Dowd’s letter began. “You lost me. Never dreamed you would let a bunch of hack politicians use your good name and reputation — earned wiDowd went on to call the protesters in Lafayette Park “phony” and “terrorists using idle hate-filled students to burn and destroy.” He mentioned the fact that former President George H. W. Bush had used the military to help regain control after Rodney King was killed in Los Angeles.
“President Trump has done more to help our minority brothers and sisters in three years than anyone in the last 50. Ask the black pastors. Ask the leaders if the black colleges and universities. He got them funded. Ask them about the prison reform which ended the draconian sentences imposed on young black men by the laws enacted by Biden and his hacks. You need to bone up on your homework and stop listening to Uncle Leon,” Dowd continued.
He went on to criticize Mattis for saying nothing about “ugly, hate filled, disgraceful” comments made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and concluded by asking whether Mattis’ anger was “borne of embarrassment” for his own failures.th the blood and guts of young Marines.” “

Yeah Walt, let him know when those convictions come in.
Actually, with so much at stake, the Deep State will fight for and with the cabal with everything they got….especially so this current administration. The Swamp is huge and there are a lot of career personel that have their livihood, life, reputation, and necks on the line. And that don’t count the media, the forces of Soros and the globalists and the PACs, America hating TDS advocacy groups, Obama’s groups, Hillary ‘s pawns, and the movers and shakers funding it all. The Bureaucrats are blocking Trump at every turn as we speak. Wrey could have been fired along time ago.
The good news is when the FBI Boston Office became so corrupt that the FBI Boston Division were on the Mob payroll and even framed an innocent man and knowing he was innocent, put him in jail for life for a hit done by an FBI informant..on tape. It looked like nothing could ever clean the place up. Mueller always showed up at the convicted parole board hearings back in the day to block his release. Their own informative had done a hit for the mob and the FBI framed and convicted an innocent man. A small side note is the FBI chief in Boston had not been cashing his paychecks, leaving them in stack in his bottom drawer because he was living fine off the mob money.
Anyway, the FBI top brass quietly looked around to see who they had that could clean up Boston. Only one name came up, a man of impeccable integrity; John Durham. It was John Durban that moved to an FBI office in a nearby town (not Boston where the action and good restaurants and fun times are)…all business, has a job to do. He methodically built an ironclad case against the Boston FBI rats at the top. He is the one who secretly interviewed the secretary and found out about the uncashed paychecks and quietly brought them down. One in a hundred, maybe one in a thousand.
So Walt, that is the good news. The bad news is Durham is methodical, so he takes a long time. Durham and Barr want it right, not expedient.
Meanwhile, the cases brought against those indicted by Mueller are quietly shrinking. The Russia troll farm company? Dropped. Flynn…well not so quiet and still an open question. Obama’s previous lawyer for not filling out the proper form for working for a foreign government? Not guilty. Oh, that charge was the same one as they had against Flynn (besides lying), dropped as well. What? Started off a darn near 30. :). They got Manafort for tax evasion, someone Trump never met before he volunteered to run the campaign. Whipped! And they got Roger Stone on small stuff, after he refused to commit perjury and lie about Trump. Oh my.

I just want everyone here to know that considering the circumstances I am totally in favor of the President of the United States unilaterally ordering active duty US military personnel into the streets to battle protesters. I’m totally in favor of militarized federal agency personnel from the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security and US Bureau of Prisons showing up without any identifying marks on their uniforms or any way to track who and what agency they work for showing up on the streets.
This after all is what we trained for in Jade Helm? Right?

The Pubbers ticket that could win would be Kasich-Rubio but there’s not a remote chance that will happen. My prediction of Biden-Warren for the Dems would be unbeatable. By the time the election comes around they would appeal because of Warren’s economic message and Bidens maturity and general good nature. Bernie will easily endorse and support that ticket. . The Repubs are in general snarley and insecure once they get off their anti Obama wagon. No doubt they will opt to s moderate turned right candidate that will feel as uncomfortable in that role as did Romney in 12. At this point Walker, the incredible shrinking man, is disappearing and leaving only Bush, Rubio and Kasich with any sort of middle of the road appeal that wins ellections. The bible thumpers, Cruz Huckabee and Santorum (now below 1%) will bliss and flame out. The others are unelectable in the big leagues.

What a question to ask George. I don’t support the threatened or widespread use of the active duty US military for domestic law enforcement duties under any circumstances.
In the case of hurricane Katrine national guard troops were used for disaster relief efforts…rescuing people, not law enforcement…and were identifiable from their unit and name patches. In the case of The 1992 LA riots national guard troops were federalized to assist law enforcement in a limited circumstance at the request of the Mayor of LA and Governor of California.
In the recent case of Washington D.C. troops were not requested by the Mayor of D.C; and were deployed in the case of federal agencies without the request of the Mayor and without identifying unite or personal patches.
The hypocrisy I am pointing out is that I don’t see any posters here objecting to that use of agency and military personnel while they have been highly critical of the same or similar agencies actions in other cases, such as the Bundy standoffs.
The case I would make is that the POTUS does not have the constitutional authority to use troops or agencies this way whether under the current administration or a future administration…..period; thus I would oppose it 20 years from now as well.
But y’all don’t get to have it both ways…you don;t get to bitch about federal overreach 364 days of the year then remain silent on it when President Trump over reaches.

Nothing more ridiculous than a pasty white guy dropping a “Y’all”.
……I just figured you would be all in favor of the deployment of Federal assets.

    Confiscation of civilian firearms[edit]
Controversy arose over a September 8 city-wide order by New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass to local police, U.S. Army National Guard soldiers, and Deputy U.S. Marshals to confiscate all civilian-held firearms. “No one will be able to be armed,” Compass said. “Guns will be taken. Only law enforcement will be allowed to have guns.” Seizures were carried out without warrant, and in some cases with excessive force; one instance captured on film involved 58‑year‑old New Orleans resident Patricia Konie. Konie stayed behind, in her well provisioned home, and had an old revolver for protection. A group of police entered the house, and when she refused to surrender her revolver, she was tackled and it was removed by force. Konie’s shoulder was fractured, and she was taken into police custody for failing to surrender her firearm.[86][87]
Angered civilians, backed by the National Rifle Association and other organizations, filed protests over the constitutionality of such an order and the difficulty in tracking seizures, as paperwork was rarely filed during the searches. Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association, defended the right of affected civilians to retain firearms, saying that, “What we’ve seen in Louisiana – the breakdown of law and order in the aftermath of disaster – is exactly the kind of situation where the Second Amendment was intended to allow citizens to protect themselves.” The searches received little news coverage, though reaction from groups such as the NRA, the Second Amendment Foundation, and Gun Owners of America was immediate and heated, and a lawsuit was filed September 22 by the NRA and SAF on behalf of two firearm owners whose firearms were seized. On September 23, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana issued a restraining order to bar further firearms confiscations.[86]
After refusing to admit that it had any seized firearms, the city revealed in mid-March that it did have a cache of some 1000 firearms seized after the hurricane; this disclosure came after the NRA filed a motion in court to hold the city in contempt for failure to comply with the U.S. District Court’s earlier order to return all seized firearms. On April 14, 2006, it was announced that the city will begin to return seized firearms, however as of late 2008, many firearms were still in police possession, and the matter was still in court.[86] The matter was finally settled in favor of the NRA in October 2008. Per the agreement, the city was required to relax the strict proof of ownership requirements previously used, and was to release firearms to their owners with an affidavit claiming ownership and a background check to verify that the owner is legally able to possess a firearm.[88]
