[What remains the point of debates which are empty of citations that are commonly accepted by the debating parties? As I have pontificated here for some years, and am now joined by my betters like Victor Davis Hanson among others, we are so polarized that we no longer share any cognitive common ground. In other words, we arrive at venues like RR, not only with our own opinions, but also with our own unique ‘facts’ (thereby giving lie to Sen Moynihan’s dictum). The ensuing melee is then composed of nothing but ejecta of hot air flung at the other which make no lasting impact, let alone changing anyone’s beliefs. And yet, … and yet we continue to regularly assemble on both sides of this arena to dance our ferocious dances, making threatening sounds while shaking our spears and shields at the other side, like the natives of primitive tribes or beasts of the jungle that learned to wage faux ‘wars’ without really harming each other. Realizing this, perhaps we can all join in the attempt to discover the point of it all. gjr]

I never claimed the lefties are never violent or destructive. there are extreme factions on both sides. However here you have the President of the United States openly endorsing the Cowboys for Trump that claim Democrats should be shot or hung with no exceptions. I’m sure you don’t support that George yet you support Trump who actively ane recently does support this organization. Shouldn’t a proclamation like that be investigated by the FBI and should they be allowed to carry firearms after making those death threats?

Can’t recall Conservatives leaving a trail of carnage after a rally, big or small. It’s not our thing. See, we believe in peaceful assembly.
The left uses violent people as their tool to shut down opposition. The Occupy Wall Streets used the raping and doping boys in the drum circles as their enforcers, just as today’s Progressives use Antifa as their goons to get the job done.

THEY got their story from The Daily Beast, also a Democratic slanted source, but with some journalistic ethics. They wrote:

Iran and Venezuela attempted to outmaneuver American sanctions by establishing a new oil partnership.
Two Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned ships that “were en route to Venezuela carrying Iranian fuel, scrapped their deliveries after the U.S. threatened sanctions,” a senior U.S. official told Fox News.
First reported by The Wall Street Journal, the ships were expected to arrive in Venezuela as the final delivery in a previously planned five-oil-tanker shipment, an effort that the Venezuelan regime has said is a partnership to thwart the American sanctions.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said in a televised address: “We are two rebel revolutionary peoples that are never going to kneel before North American imperialism.”
But the Greek-owned ships would have been unable to access international banking and maritime insurance had they carried out the shipment.
U.S. officials have been in direct communication with the ships, which are no longer heading to Venezuala but heading south off the coast of Senegal near Liberia, according to The Wall Street Journal.
