[What remains the point of debates which are empty of citations that are commonly accepted by the debating parties? As I have pontificated here for some years, and am now joined by my betters like Victor Davis Hanson among others, we are so polarized that we no longer share any cognitive common ground. In other words, we arrive at venues like RR, not only with our own opinions, but also with our own unique ‘facts’ (thereby giving lie to Sen Moynihan’s dictum). The ensuing melee is then composed of nothing but ejecta of hot air flung at the other which make no lasting impact, let alone changing anyone’s beliefs. And yet, … and yet we continue to regularly assemble on both sides of this arena to dance our ferocious dances, making threatening sounds while shaking our spears and shields at the other side, like the natives of primitive tribes or beasts of the jungle that learned to wage faux ‘wars’ without really harming each other. Realizing this, perhaps we can all join in the attempt to discover the point of it all. gjr]

Creepy grampa joe sure like cuddling with chi coms first a billion five for the brat now this –
The Biden Center at the University of Pennsylvania is under fire this week over its alleged failure to disclose millions of dollars in gifts from China. The center has allegedly failed to disclose $70 million in gifts from China since 2017.
According to a report by Campus Reform, the Biden Center at UPenn is facing heightened scrutiny this week over a series of gifts from China that were not properly disclosed to the federal government.
The center, which is named for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, reportedly accepted a $22 million gift from an anonymous Chinese donor. Under federal law, foreign gifts over $250,000 must be disclosed to the government. Additionally, the name of the donor must be listed in the disclosure.
The National Legal and Policy Center filed a complaint last week with the Department of Education over the University of Pennslyvania’s Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement’s failure to disclose large gifts from China.
Since 2017 alone, when the Biden Center opened and after Joe Biden announced he was running for President in April 2018, the university received over $70 million from China, of which $22 million were listed as “Anonymous.” Federal law requires the disclosure of the source of all donations over $250,000. The complaint also requests referral to the Department of Justice to file an enforcement action seeking compliance and to recoup all the costs of the investigation.

If Bill says you said it Emery, Good money says you did.
Hell.. You’re still trying to sell your story that Trump was guilty of something. So you’re still lying about that.
Since your still hung up on Trump’s “collusion”,
https://dailycaller.com/2020/05/27/shaffer-the-6-facts-americans-were-never-supposed-to-know-about-the-russia-collusion-hoax/
“The Democrats’ “Russian collusion” crusade was never about national security — and now the American people are finally learning the truth.
Contrary to the protestations of Obama administration officials and their allies in the mainstream media, the collusion narrative was designed to accomplish the following objectives: first, to discourage voters from supporting Donald Trump in 2016; second, in the event that Hillary Clinton won the election, to ruin Donald Trump personally and destroy his business professionally; and third, to serve as a so-called “insurance policy” to remove President Trump from office.”

So Emery, do you deny making the statements or is this just a way for you to deflect by asking for the source and veering away from topic, as usual? And don’t answer with another question.

Time for Daily Quotes. I liked the last one and just about all of them today.
Insight (and memo to Michael Bloomberg): “Let us not forget that the cultivation of the earth is the most important labor of man. When tillage begins, other arts will follow. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of civilization.” —Daniel Webster (1782-1852)
Observations: “Overall the Empire State, with not even 6 percent of the nation’s population, has accounted for fully 24 percent of America’s traceable pandemic deaths, as well as 22 percent of its confirmed caseload. Whether these statistical curves will flatten over time remains to be seen, but right now, there is no obvious reason to award [Andrew] Cuomo any medals for insightful leadership.” —Bob McManus
For the record: “I just filed a lawsuit in federal court to overturn Speaker Pelosi’s unconstitutional proxy voting scheme. It could allow as few as 20 Representatives to control the votes of 220. This is NOT the representative democracy our Founders envisioned or what our Constitution allows.” —House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy
Food for thought: “One problem is Twitter is now implicitly endorsing content they don’t flag.” —Jason Willick
Irony: “I’m just saying, we fly over those states that voted for a racist tangerine for a reason.” —Twitter Head of Site Integrity Yoel Roth, November 2016
Belly laugh of the week: “I am America’s hope and President Trump’s nightmare.” —Islamist Representative Ilhan Omar
A blast from the past: “Paper ballots are extremely susceptible to fraud.” —Representative Jerry Nadler, 2004 (“There’s nothing rogue about encouraging Americans to participate in elections [via absentee ballots] — you’re just worried that they won’t vote for you.” —Jerry Nadler to Donald Trump, May 20, 2020)
The buck stops… “[Saying ‘You ain’t black’] was a mistake, number one. And I was smiling when [Charlamagne tha God] was asking the question. I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy to him. He was being a wise guy, and I responded in kind [emphasis added].” —Joe Biden and M Wanna.
Grand delusions: “[Not wearing a mask is] stoking deaths. That’s not going to increase the likelihood that people are going to be better off. Presidents are supposed to lead, not engage in folly and be falsely masculine.” —Joe Biden
Demo-gogues: “Now, people can speculate [about reopening]. People can guess, ‘I think next week.’ ‘I think two weeks.’ ‘I think a month.’ I’m out of that business, because we all failed at that business. All the early national experts … were all all wrong.” —Governor Andrew Cuomo
And last… “Twitter to fact-check by pointing users to sites that repeatedly called the president a compromised seditious traitor based upon an unverified dossier paid for by his enemy.” —Twitter satirist @hale_razor

Here’s the big scandal categories:
Scandal No. 1: Massive, illegal surveillance of American citizens, using the database of the National Security Agency
Scandal No. 2: Spying on the Trump campaign
Scandal No. 3: Covering up this spying, continuing it during the new administration, charging that Trump was not legitimately elected, and impeding his presidency with major investigations, based on false charges
So, all the apologetic Democrats out there… you’re good with those?

OK Emery, you like to use Trump’s statements as ammo,, so lets use some of your queen’s.
“Nancy Pelosi: ‘Every Crisis’ Including Coronavirus Is an Opportunity to Advance Leftist Agenda”
““Just as Mr. Clyburn said, this is an opportunity, every crisis is,” Pelosi added.
“The House leader referenced U.S. House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), who said before the passage of the $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill in March that the bill was a “tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”
Well,, that “vision” sucks,, and needs glasses.

Oh goody Paul Emery wants a full investigation into the charges. Yet he is all in for accusing Trump and his Admin of the most ridiculous things. As well as Kavanaugh. All that means Emery has zero credibility with right-thinking people and can go investigate all his BS himself. year after year Emery accuse yet never produces proof. When he is faced with his ilk and pals trying a coup as exposed in their own words and emails, he demands an investigation. That would not matter to Emery as he is just a spiteful hateful person. Nothing ever ill satisfy his derangement syndrome. Anyway, we know the truth and have seen the emails and other documents posted all over the internet and the news. “Terris said the statement provoked a “predictable pillow fight in the culture wars.” Of course it would. Seemingly sincere expressions of Christian faith embarrass progressives, like flatchulance at the dinner table. And it earns their immediate distrust. As Terris says, “In the past, it might have been easier to distinguish the scam artists from the genuine power players, but now the distinction is blurrier than ever.”…….
He’s written a memoir called, What are the odds? From Crack Addict to CEO.
“‘Who doesn’t like salvation?’ he said, when asked whether the book could be a political liability. ‘Who doesn’t like a redemption story? Who doesn’t like the American Dream?’”

“You get to pick your poison: you either go before a firing squad, or you get the end of the rope,” he said. “I’ll tell you what, partner, as far as I’m concerned, there’s not an option that’s not on the table.”
What would view if a Leftist said that about Republicans?
Here’s a picture of Trump shaking his hand in the White House. Any idea how he could get a clearance to even get in the White House?
By the way, from their website”
On September 12th of 2019 Couy Griffin, also a County Commissioner in Otero County, was invited into the White House to sit at the desk with the President and further speak about issues affecting his home state of New Mexico. Griffin accredits this to being the greatest honor of his life to sit at the desk with the greatest President in American history.

Punchy,
Wave that blue ribbon high in the air, Punchy! You got a trophy, finally.
By definition, if Don was wrong once, that means you were right only once. Ah, the Crushing Blue Wave of the 2018 mid-terms. I remember that. The Blue wave was going to wash across the nation, from sea to shining sea, with a stop over in Texas, Georgia, and Montana or someplace. Definitely Virginia’s Statehouse.
Not as good as the R’s taking 63 seats in Obama’s first term, but a win nevertheless. Not quite the promised Blue Tidal Wave as the R’s gained seats in the Senate, something that has happened only 13% of the time in our nation’s history during the first mid-terms of an incumbent President. Still, a win is a win. There are no 2nd place trophies in politics or in the Oval Office.
Congrats on your solitary achievement after all these years. You deserve your moment in the sun. It was a long dry spell for you. You became so dry you became a fire hazard.
The last elections? Did you mean the Congressional seat that flipped to Red down around Lancaster for Katie’s seat? Or was her name Kathy. You know, the one who was carpet munching on her staffer. It’s ok to do campaign staff, just not Congressional staff.
The last elections? You mean the one Megan Dahl won, keeping true to our Red District (State and Federal) designation? How Linda Campbell got 10,000 votes is the untold story of the special elections, but that is for journalists to uncover.
Good thing we live in a Red District. CA District 1, easy to remember.

You guys (Blue) own the Castro District and you can keep it all to yourselves. We are the lucky ones up here in Red District One.
‘Pathogens, Pelosi, Policies … They’re Connected’
San Francisco is losing residents because of policies that preceded coronavirus.

So, now that your got something right 2 1/2 years ago, try to make it a habit. Winning, like losing, can become a habit.

Emery 6:26 – “What would view if a Leftist said that about Republicans?”
Uh – they already have and do say that, Paul – heard the latest from Kratchety Griffin?
Well of course not – you’re just a news guy.
And the latest body count of dead Dems?
Don’t worry Paul – we’ll vouch for you as a “centrist”.
You’re not a Dem – you just cheer for them, vote for them, apologize for their lies and sex assaults…

Well, well, well. Punchy was half right on the Houchie Houchie Pot Shop issue.
Paul and many others in the Nevada City bubble said that without pot shops, the town will have to roll up the sidewalks and could not survive….and by extension, the restaurants and retail shops would close cause of all the marijuana cash not circulating in Niverna City.
Pot sales are booming! Unfortunately it is not enough to carry Quaintytown through the downturn, never mind putting the hurts on the artist community and killing live music at the bars. They scan play taped music, just like they do now at weddings and radio broadcast. Always a silver lining.
Bet Nevada City wishes they had that 40k back Reinnete’ spent on lawyers for that 5-G ordinance that is still a work in progress. Needs more money for more lawyers, lol. The Union recently said the burg was 40k short. Opps, silly me. Mea Culpa. Nevada City thinks that was worth every penny and more, so no regrets.
As a side issue, one source states that 100,000 businesses are not coming back. Gone with the wind. That was the good news. The bad news is the 2019 taxes are due in July, and that will cause way more than 100,000 businesses to permanently close. 2019 was a good year, pre-dates the Plague lock down. Like, how many times can you mortgage your house and the in-laws’ home to keep the dream alive?
Oh well, being half right on the pot issue is good for bragging rights, but no trophy. Still, being spot on one time (or one and a half times to split hairs) out of hundreds is not exactly what I would write home about. Punchy, consider yourself a 1%.
“I have contractor sized garbage bags full of marijuana cash, but the Governor told me to stay home and don’t go out, except to the grocery store, pet stores, and hardware store. Oh yeah, the hospital is ok. That leaves Nevada City out of my loop.” —Unknown Black Market Guy

Those praying at the altar of global warming are just so all over the place on talking points. They must hate Al Gores internet for keeping all out there. 0
In this case that’s particularly inappropriate, though, because if anything, extreme snowfall may actually be enhanced by global warming. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but remember that even in a warming world, our hemisphere will still spend part of the year tilted away from the sun, with shorter days and colder temperatures — and winter storms.
