Gun-free zones are the secure hunting grounds for armed killers.

Bernie’s latest Big Lie was his report on Cuba’s commendable “literacy program”.  Everyone who understands communist governance knows that Castro initiated no such program to teach Cubans to read – Cubans were already a very literate people in 1960.  What he really did set up was a re-education program with mandatory attendance to disseminate revolutionary communist propaganda.  The “teachers” were actually government agents whose job was to identify the potential recalcitrants who would then be sent to concentration camps for a more sterner curriculum or worse.  Sanders is still a communist-in-hiding, supported by organizations (e.g. Dream Defenders) that make no bones about their ideological sentiments.  Meanwhile, Bernie continues to bamboozle his lightly read constituents who number in the millions (witness members of our local chapter in these pages). Shortround has spent almost half a billion to get here.  I think he’s ready to spend that much again to make it a nice round number like $1,000,000,000 to get to 1600 Pennsylvania – it does have a nice ring to it.  The question now is – how many more butts does he have to lick to become the leader of his recently adopted party.  And don’t forget, he can always start a new party in a heartbeat to sink Sanders or Bumblin’ Biden.  All the reins are in Shortround’s hands, and tomorrow will tell.

Who is Bernie Sanders?  Wikipedia has a long report on him (here) which is condensed (possibly from a conservative perch) into an email that is going around, no doubt only in conservative circles – but you never know, since he’s not a favorite of establishment Democrats.  Most interesting would be comments from our liberals that debunk what is contained in this unattributed report which is passed on as received.  Download WHO IS BERNIE SANDERS

‘Officials admit it: Trump saved lives and spared America from worst of coronavirus’ writes Monica Showalter of American Thinker.  The piece presents some significant facts that the Dems have been trying to cover up, misrepresent, and simply attempt to lie into oblivion.  It’s worth a read, especially if you’re a liberal. 

[5mar20 update]  Former educator and now Union liberal columnist Terry McAteer has discovered California’s economic “doughnut hole” in its Central Valley, a region un- and under-represented in Sacramento.  Decades of Democratic diktats have left the state’s formerly rich agricultural heartland pretty much destitute.  But in his column (here), Mr McAteer can’t help taking a swipe at the Right with – “While the State of Jefferson folks profess a need for a north/south political split, the real split in our state is an economic one, clearly centered in the “doughnut hole” of California.”  Huh??  His latest losing bout with logic reminds us of Mad Magazine’s ‘The moon is 1/49th the size of the earth, even though it is further away.’  The professed SoJ political split is required to heal and prevent the economic one manufactured and maintained by California’s Democrats.  Both are real, but are also very much quadrupeds of a different hue, an idea apparently inaccessible to the liberal mind.

Senator Chuck Schumer’s tirade to the mob confronting SCOTUS – “I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”  Now a blatant threat like that would clearly be an impeachable abuse of senatorial power had it been made by a Republican congresscritter.

    Al Hunt, Bloomberg News’ former Washington editor and one of the organization’s most visible faces in politics until his 2018 exit, was accused over the course of years by multiple women of giving unsolicited massages and verbally berating employees for minor infractions.
    Sources tell Business Insider that Hunt was known to favor a small group of women that some employees called “Al’s Angels,” giving them plum reporting assignments, invitations to key meetings with DC power brokers, and in at least some cases, career advancement, according to former employees.
    Business Insider has learned of at least two instances in which Bloomberg agreed to pay women to settle potential claims over Hunt’s conduct.
    Hunt denies touching anyone inappropriately and says he was a supportive boss who did not engage in favoritism.
    In a statement, a Bloomberg LP spokesperson declined to dispute any of the claims regarding Hunt, saying “there are certainly instances where we wish we had handled some complaints differently.”

Despite at least two financial settlements with women who complained about the editor, he continued in his position for years, sources said.
    That’s one of the findings in a weeks-long investigation conducted by Business Insider into the company’s culture. The investigation involved interviews with more than 40 current and former Bloomberg LP employees and found allegations of a toxic, macho workplace culture fueled by fear, in which powerful people screamed at underlings and bullied them with impunity. When they reported claims of inappropriate behavior to human resources, these staffers said, they were routinely ignored.
    In the course of Business Insider’s investigation, few names came up more frequently in conversations with former employees than Hunt’s.

    IMO.
    The funny thing about the ultra-left Bernies of the world is that they honestly believed that their political belief systems bought them camaraderie with folks like the Soviets. It’s hard to get more nationalistic than Russians and po’ old Bernie would be the first guy on the gallows in a USSSR.

    I noticed McAteer did not fail to praise ‘good’ local foothill schools along with good schools in the Coastal belt…yet left the Sanctuary City by the Bay (Poop City) and LA out of his ‘doughnut hole.”
    The Central Valley may be a hole, but the real cesspools of liberal thought are not found there.
