[Well, my proposal in the 12feb20 Scattershots for a new Dem candidate reader participation contest heading into the convention went over like a fart in church. It would have been fun to see how the perceived fortunes of Super-Tuesday's survivors changed over the next few months. Oh well, … sigh. gjr]

I call bullshit. Nice scare tactic. School water have been tested for decades looking for it. And every time it’s been found, the school closed because of it.
How do I know? I was one of those guys going around getting the water samples in the 90’s.

Remembering the fact they all serve at the pleasure of the president the guy just got fired and allowed to resign to keep his resume clean.
If there were any Stalinist terminations you would not hear about and the terminations would be terminally fatal so you would not hear a peep from the folks fired.

PLAUSIBLE SCENARIOS FOR GLOBAL WARMING
“In other words, cooling trends reflecting natural variability are likely to cancel out, for the most part, any effects of increasing concentrations of CO2 over the next 30 years. This is an interesting conclusion. One interpretation is that climate disaster will strike after 2050, when natural variability may turn toward higher, rather than lower, temperatures. But by then, pretty much everyone will have given up on global warming hysteria. Which, in my view, will be a good thing no matter what happens after 2050, since global warming hysteria is all about power politics, not the environment.”

I watched his talk today in Bakersfield. Basically, the hard one (Fed regulations) are out of the way. Now, it’s up to CA. He gave a special shout out to Tom McClintock, Nunnes, , Kevin McCarthy, and the first female to head the Department of Reclamation and the first female POC to head the Fish & Wildlife for all there hard work.
Every farmer (in plaid shirts and no ties) that spoke said the same thing; ‘promises kept, President Trump for keeping your promise to us in 2016 in Tulare.’
Interesting that CA has built no new water storage facility since 1997. And yet the population is up 70%.
Did like the line about ‘mortgaging the farm’. With the inheritance tax for small farms eliminated, many can keep the family farm and with more water deliveries, they won’t have to mortgage the farm. 🙂

‘Panicked Democrat Establishment Turns To Bloomberg
Even if he can buy the Democratic nomination, he’s not what their base voters want‘
“They (Dem Establishment) spent years getting high on their own supply about Biden’s strength and Trump’s weaknesses, but now they’re coming out of their narco haze and they’re panicking. They’re so desperate that they’re willing to sell the party nomination to Mike Bloomberg, of all people. While his views are at odds with many of the Democratic Party’s base voters, it’s hard to get more establishment than Bloomberg, who made billions selling his terminals to Wall Street.
This week the establishment is really amping up its flirtation with the wee New Yorker. The billionaire businessman hasn’t won any votes yet, and isn’t even on the ballot in the next two states holding elections, but he has won the support of many major media figures. The New York Times yesterday had eight stories about Bloomberg on the politics page of its website, compared to zero for ostensible delegate leader and young mayor Buttigieg. That’s not an accident.
Last Sunday’s political shows featured non-stop questions and commentary about Bloomberg, not the current odds-on favorite to win the most delegates, Sanders. Until and unless he crashes in a debate or underperforms on Super Tuesday, there is an argument that Bloomberg should be presumed to be the front-runner because he is the establishment’s clear favorite of the remaining contenders. And in the Democratic Party, that establishment support means a great deal.”

Thank you, Presdent Trump and Interior Secretary Bernhardt, for issuing a memorandum and Record of Decision finalizing the biological opinions that would reduce the California water that is wasted by flushing it into the ocean. This is bad for farmers, cities and towns, and wildlife refuges who have routinely suffered at the hands of Sacramento politicians siding with extreme environmentalists. Bringing back this common sense water policy that protects North State water rights is another promise kept by President Trump.

Before this week, I would have thought it an exaggeration to compare Trump’s frequent rallies to the infamous Nuremberg rallies Hitler held during the 1930s. No longer. Trump’s rallies are unnervingly close to those held in Nuremberg. The MAGA hat has become a kind of Trumpian Nazi helmet. The denunciations of hated minorities are the same. fish@8:06 re: sea level
I do have to say that sea level change is by far the weakest reason to worry about human-driven climate change. Just imagine the effect on beach front property if we had the minus 130 meters from the last ice age.
I guess it’s a good alarmist viewpoint since (a)climatistas tend to live in cities and (b)cities tend to be near coasts. Generally, at least in the US, the hinterlands are viewed by city dwellers as a good place for power generation, garbage dumps, limited mining, and hiking. The people who actually live there are besides the point.

re: BillT and the Leftist Hacks.
That’s a good article. The Federal government as a source of spoils for a ruling party (post US Civil War?) seems to be something of a problem when the civil service itself becomes a ruling party. My guess is that it’s unavoidable. Until the whole system spins apart, inevitable at some point, it’s a situation that will simply increase in severity.

That’s what you get for lying your ass off for 4 years starting with rancid Russian dressing –
The far-left CNN, a hate network that spreads conspiracy theories and promotes violence against President Trump and his supporters, could not even average a million viewers during the same week New Hampshire came out to vote.
Worse still, CNN’s chief nemesis, Fox News, annihilated the fake news network in the ratings by averaging more than three times — three times! — as many primetime viewers as CNNLOL.
Here’s the primetime breakdown of average viewers during the week of February 10:
Fox: 3.2 million
MSNBC: 1.677 million
CNNLOL: 969,000
As you can see, during the first presidential primary in four years (Iowa is a caucus), CNNLOL belly-flopped into ninth place, losing to HGTV, TLC, the History Channel, and only barely beating the Hallmark Channel.
How is that even possible?
Wait, it gets worse…
Here’s the total day viewership average for that same week:
Fox: 1.743 million
MSNBC: 920,000
CNNLOL: 630,000
Seriously, how is it even possible for a cable channel that’s currently available in some 85 million homes to attract only 630,000 average viewers throughout the day — especially during the week of the New Hampshire primary?
Here’s a better question…
How is it possible that CNN chief Jeff Zucker, who has not only failed to dig CNN’s ratings out of the dirt, but who has forever destroyed the credibility of CNN as a respected brand, still has a job?
Numbers this low do not just point to a failure to attract viewers, they point to a flat-out rejection of CNNLOL by the American people.
