[“But Conservos made zero, ZERO arguments regarding the constitutionality of what Trump has been doing…”  One of our liberal commenters sought to make a curious point with this statement re Trump being impeached.  There is nothing in the Constitution about a president’s ‘abuse of power’ or ‘obstruction of Congress’ – these are political charges fashioned entirely out of whole cloth by Democrats desperate to somehow cripple the president going into the 2020 election.  Therefore, ‘constitutionality’ need not even enter into any defense argument.  Just pointing out the Democrats’ political perfidy is enough to indict their motives.  gjr]

Donald Trump won Politifact’s ‘Lie of the Year’ award for the third time breaking his own record. He is the only person to have ever been the liar of the year more than once. He really must be the chosen one, the anti-Christ, don’t you think?

Well, Hillary Clinton won California by 4,269,978 votes. Trump on the popular vote in the rest of America by 1,401,292 votes. And now we see the voters who applied at the DMV and placed an R for their party got changed to NP. Software glitch? I say intentional and that explains the voter fraud for Hillary here in 2016.

Hmmm. Looks like our deranged Addicted to Outrage friends are not accepting the enviable outcome of the impeachment farce very well….or the 2020 election. The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem…rather large big problems. No worries, you will get plenty more chances to impeach Trump in his 2nd term. What ever you guys are doing, please please keep it up. I am begging you. Thanks in advance. I know you just cannot not help yourselves.
    Daily Quotes and Affirmations
Political futures: “Here’s what we do know. First, no president since World War II has failed to be reelected when the unemployment rate was below 7.4 percent. Second, the unemployment rate in November 2020 is almost certain to be well below 7.4 percent.” —Paul Mirengoff
A Republic — if you can keep it: “We are exactly where the Framers hoped we would never be when they added the impeachment clauses to the Constitution: in a governing system in which impeachment has been trivialized into a partisan weapon for straitjacketing the incumbent administration, rather than being reserved as a nuclear option for misconduct so egregious that Congress must act, transcending partisan, factional, or ideological considerations.” —Andrew McCarthy
For the record: “The two articles of impeachment [have] no basis in the Constitution. They were a reflection of the comparative voting power of the two parties, precisely what one of the founders, Alexander Hamilton, warned would be the ‘greatest danger’ of an impeachment.” —Alan Dershowitz
What’s your definition of “full and fair”? “To engage a trial without the facts coming out is to engage in a coverup. To conduct a trial without the facts is saying, ‘We’re afraid. We have something to hide.’ To conduct a trial without relevant witnesses who haven’t been heard from, to just rehash the evidence presented in the House, just doesn’t make any sense. If Leader McConnell doesn’t hold a full and fair trial, the American people will rightly ask, ‘What are you, Leader McConnell, and what is President Trump hiding?’” —Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
A blast from the past: “[Republicans] know that these allegations do not meet the test of the Constitution. They know that there are not impeachable offenses, but they pressed forward because it is really a coup d’état where … they are trying to do with this impeachment what they were unable to do at the ballot box.” —Rep. Maxine Waters during Bill Clinton’s impeachment ordeal — except that Clinton actually committed impeachable offenses
Braying jackass I: “I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything.” —Barack Obama, who prevented Hillary Clinton from winning in 2008
Braying jackass II: “If you look at the world and look at the problems it’s usually old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way.” —Barack Obama, who seems to be working to prevent Joe Biden from winning in 2020
Non sequitur: “The US needs to become an advanced society. That includes establishing healthcare as a right to all people.” —Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who seems to think “rights” are things other people are forced to provide you
And last… “Democrats continue to make the case that if Trump isn’t impeached, he’ll steal the election of 2020. How isn’t that a statement of deep concern over their 2020 candidates?” —Ben Shapiro

Love how you minimize your grievous outrageous errors and exaggerate the tiny errors of others. But, yes, Trump has been proven 100% exonerated from colluding with Russia. Not ifs, ands, or fuzznardos about it. And it wasn’t because errors and screwups were made. As you would say, “Trump is complete innocent!!!” Nice.

    CNN BECLOWNS ITSELF YET AGAIN
Yes, I know, CNN beclowns itself hourly, and as such is usually not worth noticing or commenting on, but sometimes they make it so easy that it becomes necessary as a reminder of their colossal ignorance and bias. Anchor Brian Stelter raised his eyebrow this morning that Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch has appeared on TV to promote his book. OMG! Will the republic survive this breach of decorum?

For your reading pleasure… Pressure mounting to allow testimony from Trump aides.
“Roughly 7 in 10 Americans said in a new poll that President Trump should allow top administration aides to testify in a Senate impeachment trial.
The survey, conducted by ABC News and The Washington Post, found that 71 percent of respondents said Trump should allow his aides to testify while 22 percent disagreed.
Almost 8 in 10 Democrats — 79 percent — said that Trump should allow aides to testify in a Senate trial, compared to 72 percent of independents and 64 percent of Republicans.
The new poll also found that 62 percent of Americans expect Trump to have a fair trial in the Senate. Sixty-one percent of Republicans, 62 percent of Democrats and 64 percent of independents agreed.
Several Trump administration aides and officials have defied subpoenas for documents and testimony throughout the ongoing impeachment inquiry, which House Democrats launched against Trump earlier this year.”

    Rep. Doug LaMalfa
    17 mins ·
Today I voted in favor of a government funding package that makes a significant down payment on border wall construction, invests in building more water infrastructure – specifically Sites Reservoir – and eliminates ill-conceived taxes on medical devices. While I’m not happy with the overall spending level of the bill, there is more good than bad in this package of bills.
Importantly for Northern California, this package includes additional benefits to Camp and Carr Fire disaster areas through additional low income housing tax credits as well as extending several important tax benefits. It also fully funds Secure Rural Schools and Payment- In-Lieu of Taxes (PILT) that our rural counties need in order to provide for transportation and law enforcement.
Domestic, International and Tax Extenders (H.R. 1865)
    Funding Highlights:
-Provides $134 million in new funding for WIIN Act water storage projects, specifically including Sites Reservoir
-Payment in Lieu of Taxes fully funded through FY20
-Fully funds Secure Rural Schools for FY20, and backfills funding for FY19
-Permanently repeals Obamacare taxes on medical devices, health insurers, and high-quality health insurance plans
-Increases funding for apprenticeship programs to $175 million
-Fully funds community care programs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, including an additional appropriation of $1.5 billion for the creation of an electronic health record system that can be used in tandem with the Department of Defense
-$2.8 billion for Alzheimer’s disease research at the National Institutes of Health
-Funds the Trump Administration’s childhood cancer initiative at $50 million
-Provides additional Low-Income Housing Tax Credits for the Carr and Camp Fire, and all areas affected by the 2017 and 2018 California wildfires
-Extends several tax benefits to the areas devastated by disasters in 2018 and 2019
    Policy Provisions:
Hyde Amendment, Weldon Amendment, and embryo research prohibitions maintained
Prohibits commercial consumption of horse meat
Blocks Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions provisions against Israel
    National Security (H.R. 1159)
    Funding Highlights:
-Fully funds the defense programs passed by the House last week, including $738 billion in defense programs, a 3.1% pay raise for our troops, and the establishment of Space Force
-Provides $1.4 billion for the border wall, and other infrastructure needed to get control of our borders
-$50 million for the Defense Community Infrastructure Program that could be used to assist communities surrounding military facilities, like Sierra Army Depot
