[From the last Sandbox I will repeat my 920am invitation. 'Paul, you guys continue going after the low-hanging fruit on Trump. Why don't you instead take on something more meaningful to Americans? – your assertions that tax rates don't affect economic behavior, or 'border walls don't work', or more regulations encourage commerce and entrepreneurial activity, or capitalism has created all the world's ills, or bigger government taking on a bigger share of the economy is better, or people are indifferent to living among others more like themselves, or … . There are so many things you guys believe in that you should really attempt to substantiate instead of displaying your ongoing spasms of TDS.' gjr]

The memo from then-Professor Elizabeth Warren was written on Harvard University law school letterhead, a symbol of gravitas for a scholar renowned as a champion for consumers victimized by predatory banks and other big businesses.
But on this occasion, Warren was not arguing on behalf of vulnerable families, nor was she offering the sort of stinging rebuke of corporate greed that would later define her political career. Rather, Warren was representing a large development company that was trying to avoid having to clean up a toxic waste site.
The eight-page memo, which has not previously been reported, offers a rare glimpse of Warren in action during her past work as a corporate consultant – one whose arguments were at times out of step with the liberal presidential campaign she is running today.
Warren’s compensation in the 1996 case was included in a summary released by her campaign late Sunday night showing that she had been paid about $2 million as a legal consultant during her time as a professor, most of it between 1995 and 2009.
But Warren, who has released 11 years of tax returns, has not disclosed her tax records from most of that time period. And her campaign has provided few details about her private legal business beyond short descriptions released in May of cases she worked on and the Sunday night disclosure, which came amid a growing feud over transparency between now-Sen. Warren, D-Mass., and rival Pete Buttigieg.

Electability is a central pillar of former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s newly launched presidential campaign, but a poll released Tuesday finds he is deeply unpopular with voters nationwide.
A Monmouth University poll found about twice as many registered voters rated Bloomberg negatively as positively — 54% unfavorable, 26% favorable. That margin was significantly worse than for five other Democratic candidates, as well as for President Trump. That same measure hampered Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016.

Exxon Mobil Corp. won a closely watched securities-fraud trial that delved into its internal accounting for the financial risks of climate change, a striking rejection of New York state’s claim that the company misled investors for years.
The ruling Tuesday by New York Supreme Court Justice Barry Ostrager in Manhattan is a blow to the state’s attorney general, Letitia James, who accused the energy company of lying about its use of a “proxy cost” for carbon to account for future climate-change regulations.
“The office of the Attorney General failed to prove, by a preponderance of the evidence, that ExxonMobil made any material misstatements or omissions about its practices and procedures that misled any reasonable investor,” Ostrager wrote in a 55-page ruling. The AG “produced no testimony either from any investor who claimed to have been misled by any disclosure,” the judge said.

There is an old Chinese curse – May You Live in Interesting Times. It appears that emperor Xi is living in interesting times and looks to for at least another 5 years! –
Chinese dictator Xi Jinping held a meeting of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) political bureau in which 2019 was discussed as an especially “challenging” or “testing” year for communism, particularly due to China’s sputtering economy.
Unmentioned in the Xinhua article were such glitches in the Chinese system as the African swine fever outbreak, cynically referred to by some as “pork Ebola,” that has driven up prices of the Chinese staple food by over 110 percent. Consumer prices overall rose in China by 4.5 percent for the year, the highest increase since 2012.
Generally speaking, outside analysts see China developing a demand problem as its trade war with the U.S. wore on throughout 2019. Economic growth is approaching 30-year lows despite the back-slapping at Xi’s CPC Central Committee meeting, with particularly dire results for working-poor Chinese who restructured their lives and moved across the country to pursue careers during the boom years.

I would suspect they updated the bays to receive the newest stand off toys too. SWEET! —
Plane-spotter Kris Tanjano was posted up outside the Nellis Test and Training Range in Nevada on Dec. 3, 2019 when he witnessed an aerial exercise play out overhead. F-117s apparently flying from Tonopah Test Range were in the mix along with F-16s, F-15s, F-22s and possibly B-1 bombers coming from Nellis Air Force Base.
The Lockheed-made stealth fighters apparently were acting as radar-evading adversaries in a mock battle with other plane types, Tanjano told Tyler Rogoway at The War Zone. “I witnessed an F-117 along with four F-16s go up against F-15s and F-22s. The F-117’s callsign was KNIGHT, the F-16s were GOMER and MIG, and they were communicating on the aggressor frequency.”
“First, the F-16s came in pairs attacking the blue force (F-22s, F-15s, and maybe a B-1) then an F-117 came in at low-level just behind the F-16s towards the blue force,” Tanjano added. “They all fought it out for about five to 10 minutess then restarted for a second push. Once again the F-16s came high overhead, followed by a low-level F-117. Several times the aggressors called out a target which was a low-level heavy aircraft which I believe was B-1, but I am not certain.”

George 8:40 – “…and not, say, Russians or the Japanese or …”
So – they are not human rights, but only the rights enjoyed by American citizens?
I realize the Constitution was a legal document, written by folks who were aware that they had no call nor ability to extend these rights to persons not under our flag.
The question then remains – what ‘rights’ do non-citizens enjoy while on American soil?
Just some?
And then what Constitutional regulation is in force for non-citizens?
Apparently none – although we can grant some semblance of those rights which are then arbitrarily allowed and enforced?
Illegal Mexicans are said to have full rights as soon as they hit our side of the border. Saudis here on official and legal business have – what? Some or no rights?
I believe our brothers on the left side of the political fence have some ‘splainin’ to do.
Although I realize they will not as they have no ability to understand the issue.

Russ – 9:34 “My question is, why are leftist activists obsessed with making it easy for people to piss and shit in the streets?”
Russ – you miss an important feature. If you or I were to, say – unzip our pants and piss on camera when some official activity were in progress at Fishermans’ Wharf – we would be arrested. The current craze for being gender fluid certainly does not apply to you or me. Try telling the parent outside of a women’s bathroom their 13 year old daughter just went into that you just decided to ‘identify’ as a woman as you saunter into said facility. I can certainly tell you now that those same leftists would have a much different agenda at that point.
The left has gone down the rabbit hole of absurdity from which there is no coming back save the sane actions of adults on the conservative side. I currently reside in a state where even the most lunatic leftist has never claimed the right for adult humans to urinate or defecate in public.
The actual matter at hand is the left trying to see how far they can go in making the public acquiesce to their nonsense. If the left can cow the general public into accepting anti-science with fabricated realities of 107 different genders, and letting certain people relieve themselves in public, then they can move forward with their far more dangerous visions of social order.

Key point: The Baltics need irregulars in case their conventional forces are overrun.
U.S. Army soldiers have been training militia troops from the Baltic states in order to help them resist Russian occupation in the event Russia makes a land-grab west of its current border.
Special Forces from the active Army as well as from the West Virginia National Guard recently completed the first “irregular and unconventional warfare training iteration” for the Polish Territorial Defense Forces and the Latvian Zemmessardze.
The training was part of the Ridge Runner program in West Virginia, Army officials told Army Times reporter Kyle Rempfer.
Mountainous West Virginia “is the perfect venue for our highly-trained Special Forces to help these two nations’ military forces develop the skills vital to their mission at home, which is extraordinarily important in this era of geo-political uncertainty,” U.S. Army major general James Hoyer, adjutant general of the West Virginia National Guard, said in a statement.
“This summer, [troops from] Latvia and Poland traveled to West Virginia for the program,” Rempfer wrote. “Both nations have newly invigorated homeland defense forces capable of pushing back against an invading force and opposing a potential occupation.”
The units are trained to provide response during the early stages of a hybrid conflict. Their tasks could include slowing the advancing units of an aggressor nation by destroying key transportation infrastructure such as bridges, attacking enemy forces at choke-points and potentially serving as forward observers for NATO aircraft responding with air strikes.
Polish Territorial Defense Forces, for instance, typically have a role similar to that of the U.S. National Guard, supporting local communities and acting as a reserve base for conventional forces
.
Militia operations could turn the table on Russia’s own strategy for influencing and even annexing countries along its periphery. The Kremlin often deploys anonymous special forces — Pres. Vladimir Putin’s “little green men” — in advance of a conventional attack.
Little green men occupied key sites and sowed confusion in the days preceding Russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine’s strategic Crimean Peninsula.
Here is why you exercise-
Their capabilities “would range from cyber to drones to long-range mobile communications and non-lethal weapons as well as small arms, explosives, anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons,” wire-service AFP explained, citing the report.
“The idea proposed by the report’s authors would be to organize each Baltic country’s defenses around four levels of resistance,” AFP reported.
“Violent” units made up of special forces, reservists and undefeated combat units would be charged with carrying out ambushes or freeing prisoners, under the scheme outlined in the report.
Less heavily-equipped units composed of police or amateur sharpshooters would be in charge of sabotage operation

Hillary Clinton, Chris Steele Allege Boris Johnson Is A Russian Stooge
Given his dismal track record, it’s stunning that Christopher Steele has again surfaced, just before the U.K. election that will decide Brexit, to claim that Johnson is a Russian asset.
Hillary Clinton is back, and so is Chris Steele, this time in the United Kingdom. They are no less than implying that current Conservative (Tory) Prime Minister Boris Johnson is a Russian plant. And it’s no mistake that these allegations are being made just before a U.K. general election on December 12 that will decide the fate of Brexit.
It started last month, when the U.K.’s leftwing Guardian newspaper reported the existence of a secret report that said the Russians spent five years “cultivating leading Tories including Johnson…” The 50-page “dossier” from the U.K.’s intelligence and security committee is “based on analysis from Britain’s intelligence agencies, as well as third-party experts such as the former MI6 officer Cristopher Steele…”

Hmmm, Trump did call out the slacker Justin for Canada being far in arrears in their Nato commitments. Just like that former E. German soldier Angie who destroyed a formerly fine continent with her open borders. Time for Angie to get off the wagon and help push. Pay to play, people.
No doubt Trump walks into the room and shows who is the real boss of NATO. The free loaders cower before him with their ‘yes sir, no sirs’ like the good little underlinings they are. Then, as soon as the Bossman Trump leaves, they gather in the lunch room to snivel and whine and gossip and backbite like the little water cooler attendants they are. Toothless dogs being all brave like after Trump leaves the room. Oh, how they love to bitch about the CEO….but are too cowardly to do so to his face. They are too afraid of getting put over Trump’s knee and spanked if the act that way in front of our US President. They are ripping the US taxpayer off and Trump ain’t going to take their lip no more. America First.

In other news, the threat to the Electoral College.

Actually, by any measure, Trump did NOT “inherit” a healthy economy – he inherited a long-stagnating economy with the slowest recession recovery rate in US history brought about by a combatively incompetent president and (for most of his terms) a socialist leaning Congress. Things took off when the Republican House abetted by the newly elected Trump were able to get their hands on the knobs and levers of our economy. It is this widely understood fact that is scaring the bejeezus out of the Dems today, and why they are doing everything possible to either get Trump out before his term expires, or taint him with the sleaziest and most dangerous impeachment circus ever conceived. For the Dems, the nation be damned, it’s their party über alles.
