I didn’t go, but looking carefully at the few photos in The Union that weren’t focused on the stage, it appears the theater was basically empty save for a few aging lefties towards the front.
A “new organization” was introduced at the end, the “Sunrise Movement”, that actually started in 2017 but the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning (SAEL) charter high school has a new chapter, proving the fallibility of the charter school movement.
Looking to the sunrisemovement.org webpages, under the About tab, at the bottom, we find the following timetable entry:

Huh. That’s interesting. If public safety is excluded I expect that will grow over time, but it already did due to the pension rules. You can’t have too many millionaire ex-statees.
While I think that separate CA emissions rules are silly (seriously, who here can name the real differences between 37 state and 13 state auto smog rules and standards?) and make the manufacturers crazy, I kind of like the idea of pushing electric on the .gov. It might actually be cheaper in the long run, and fueling is easy since it would be centralized at the many many state buildings. I’m one of those people who think the future is in ‘lectric cars so I don’t hate the idea of buying fleets, they might drive the cost down a bit by building the modern battery-powered version of the Crown Vic. I admit that UPS/Fedex haven’t bought into the concept (and they would in a NY minute if their spreadsheets showed saving 10 cents), but a lot of people are working on batteries as we speak.
As far as climate-activist kids, I mean, seriously, what could go wrong with involving children with adult craziness? They are certainly easy to sell on the ideas du jour.

US appears to be dropping at about the same rate as Europe since 2004 (why? admittedly some combination of .gov rules combined with increased efficiency and ????, perhaps deindustrialization). Imagine the drop if we didn’t keep importing people.
Obviously we can’t hassle the Chinese because Russia!, we can’t minimize the movement of the Third World to the First because Diversity!, we can’t encourage people in Africa to have fewer children (the next big story) because Racism! I guess that the way to save the world from the bootprint of humanity is to forgive student loans, convert the power company and the healthcare industry into government employees, and to drive Subarus.

We did happen to be watching and were more than surprised when suddenly Schiff read Trump’s tweet about Yovaonvitch while she was still testifying and not checking her phone. In short, no matter how you assess the president’s tweet, she would not have known of it until after her testimony. Schiff’s reading it to her seemed to be a purposeful political ploy to unsettle the witness and get more lamestream media points on the air in real time. It’s funny that we seen no one, save Walt, to have noticed, mentioned, nor understood that little interlude. Did I miss it on FN?
