RR has covered the Agenda21 story extensively over the years primarily in its role as a template for leftwing objectives that their politicians’ public policies seek to fulfill.  (see 'Agenda 21' category) This non-binding UN initiative was formalized in 1992 and signed by over 100 nations.  The US (under Bush1) became a signatory.  A21’s objectives and means of achieving them on the level of local jurisdictions was and continues to be taught to government officials and properly politically oriented NGO staffs through a global network of ICLEIs.

ICLEI or the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives was launched under the aegis of A21.  The ICLEIs almost immediately began distancing themselves from the A21 relationship as the latter’s objectives started to be highlighted by various rightwing media outlets, politicians, and conservative blogs as harbingers of global autocracy.  The goals taken in toto were an antithesis for the retention of sovereign nation-states as the fundamental structure of world order.  A21 called for an authoritarian global government whose operational goals were actually to markedly lower human population, reduce its consumption of earth’s resources, and restrict people’s access to most of earth’s land area and natural resources.

This obviously made A21 and all references to it anathema to most Americans, and made connecting A21 to the Left’s globalist narrative a no-brainer.  Hence, the Left immediately launched a nationwide denial campaign, claiming that A21 was really some hare-brained Big Brother conspiracy cooked up by the Right.  Their proof of that was showing that none of their public policies which existentially abetted A21 objectives, actually called out A21 or mentioned A21 objectives in the laws and regulations they passed and their publicized desiderata for future legislation.  In short, A21 had to be banished from the public mind.  And so it was.

Today the objectives of A21 are all alive and well, but they have had to be repackaged by the UN under the new rubric of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and wrapped into its newly introduced Agenda 2030.  The clear hope is that within such new adornments, the public will be bamboozled a bit longer as the global Left continues to fashion and form ever more restrictive boundaries through SDG-supportive public policies, all of which need an ever larger state to administer and enforce them.  And, of course, all that will cost much more than we are used to paying now, hence the new levels of mandated tribute to Leviathan will be justified as fulfilling part of humanity’s overall moral imperative in its march into the globalist 21st century as prescribed by Agenda 2030.  The beat goes on.  (more here, here, and elsewhere – google ‘Agenda 2030’)

Beat ya to it Walt @824 on the thread but the trolls need to hear truthful things multiple times especially the oh so trollish set slavishly regurgitating the talking points for lefties.
The other thing is the proliferation of new media people keeping an eye on the socialists and their clown car has gained critical mass offsetting the discredited media tools of the left.
The viewer numbers tell the story.

I have no Idea where you are getting this amoeba nonsense; I never said it, I have never heard anyone but you say it, I don’t believe it, and I have never defended it.
I have actually been a proponent of the the idea that humans are much more adaptable than we give them credit for, that the idea that “we have 12 years” (which actually just meant we have 12 years to hold temperature increase to 2°C not that the species has 12 years) is nonsense, and that the path is a 50 year process not a 10 year process.
The young are being influenced by a much broader range of science than your cherry picked critique of Mann…and since you will never change your mind…I just chuckle… at the fact that they will laugh on your grave.

You sure use that line a lot Stevie,, “cherry picked”.
You really need to keep up on the ECO PROGGY bullshit your side spews. And since your live like a leach of ECO unicorn dreams you deserve all the flack you get. Now would be a real good time for you to show your ECO minions how well life will be without the use of fossil fuels. Dare ya… Or are you going to use the cherry picked excuse of “well,, when everyone else does.”

    Nadler delivers
“People think, well, the sea leavels are rising, it’ll cost us $100 billion to relocate, two million people will die in Bangladesh in India because that’s bad enough,” Nadler said. “It’s much, much worse.”
“I have a thirteen year-old grandaughter and when I look at her, I get terrified,” Nadler continued. “I don’t know if human life will survive fifty years. We may face, the climate scientists tell us, that we may face the sixth mass extiniction in the history of the globe.”
Nadler then shifted his focus to the acidification of the oceans, which he says will “destroy the entire food chain.”
“If the oceans acidify, which they’re beginning to do, they will destroy the entire food chain and essentially all that will be left will be bacteria and maybe some plants.”

Stevie Frisch, I notice there’s a new old white guy on your board of directors… a past principal and owner at WECO Aerospace, effectively shut down by the FAA for shoddy work… and a current elected Placer County Supervisor.
You’re still at 100% lilly white at the wretchedly misnamed Sierra Business Council. How’s fixing that going?
SO’s “amoeba” is funny as hell… you just can’t see hyperbole for what it is when it’s aimed at your sacred cows, can you?
Sorry, Stevie, but Science is not a social construct. Neither is climate. The Children’s Crusade för Climate led by Greta d’Arc is pure political theater led by a girl first traumatized by the scare at age 8.

Actually, I have my own serious doubts whether or not the human race will still be around in 50 yrs time, at least as presently structured. There are too many people for our own good, particularly when all 9 billion attain the American QOL. Nuclear proliferation is possibly lethal and the strain on resources almost unimaginable. I can think of a half-dozen potential game-enders.
I’m not alone in this- look at this blog’s byline.
As I look out on a darkening horizon, there is one truly bright spot. Of all the things that could signal our approaching demise as a species, the Climate change hoax is the last one anyone needs to lose any sleep over. To the extent it’s happening (gradual temp increase, better weather, higher CO2) it is an unmitigated good.

LEFTY PROTESTERS ARE ALWAYS PIGS: So much for clearing up the planet! Climate change protesters who marched through Manhattan are branded hypocrites for leaving litter strewn across the city.
That’s why it was so shocking when the Tea Party folks left things cleaner than they found them.

Sorry about missing Frisch’s follies yesterday… I was at a type specific training event held by the American Bonanza Society at McClellan Field. Ground school. The round trip flight was short … barely long enough to get the oil warmed up.
Driving would have taken an extra hour each way and would have felt wrong despite the lower ‘carbon footprint’ (though not that much lower)… where’s the fun in that?

Hey Stevie, do you think you understand photosynthesis?
Personally, I don’t claim to understand it, but Todd’s question of co2 being turned into green was needing some context. The green chlorophyll is in the protein boxes in which the near-magic of turning sunlight, water and co2 into sugars and other carbohydrates happens. In other words, the ‘green’ is part of the engine that eats co2 and spits out O2 and carbs.

“L”, no way will 9 billion folk attain the current American QOL, nor is it a given Americans will keep it.
I expect there will be less food to go around in 2030, and much less in the years afterwards… the number of mouths that need to be fed will adjust.

Robert and Steven I would like to hear your explanations for how an increase in temperatures of 2-3 C will destroy civilization. It is clear that humans have survived under higher temperatures for the last 10,000 years.
According to the ice cores, the planet has been cooling for the last 10,000 years and our current warming in an unusual spike similar to previous warming spikes, the Minoan, Roman, and Medieval Warming periods. Those warming spikes collapsed into long periods of cold temperatures, and so will the current warming if it has not already started.

Todd, these linking my help with your green impact questions.
MATT RIDLEY: REJOICE IN THE LUSH GLOBAL GREENING
In 2016 a paper was published by 32 authors from 24 institutions in eight countries that analysed satellite data and concluded that there had been a roughly 14% increase in green vegetation over 30 years. The study attributed 70% of this increase to the extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The lead author on the study, Zaichun Zhu of Beijing University, says this is equivalent to adding a new continent of green vegetation twice the size of the mainland United States.

Thanks Russ. It looks to me that Frisch’s response was all about guesses. And his snark is well noted about photosynthesis. I learned all about it in 7th grade, long before he did. But I guess he got a smackdown by Gregory for his attempts to “educate” me and theirs with his propaganda. I looked for the amount of tonnage of green algae in the waters of the world as those algae are now being toted as a savior regarding a food source by the eco-nuts. Did not find one mention. And we know that water vapor supplies 80 percent of the total “greenhouse” gases are not a mention form Frisch.

And mighty proud of it, too.
He couldn’t even take the 2 seconds to Google it and find out. It would have taken him less time to educate himself than the time it took him to bray about his ignorance.

Really Steve – first you boast of your ignorance and then you come up with that?
I’m trying to understand what that has to do with science. Looks like you have given up talking about AGM due to my “cherry picking” with the topic of Dr Mann. It’s a nice ploy. Every time some one comes up with facts you can’t rebut, you wave them away by saying “cherry picking”.
There’s a whole orchard of cherry trees out there, Steve.

“• So my understanding is that the climatistas are planning some kind of protest in DC today whose centerpiece will be blocking morning traffic so that . . . The Swamp can’t get to work? How is The ResistanceTM going to function? I’m not sure the climatistas have thought this one all the way through, since I am wholly on their side for once; in fact, I wish they’d blockade Washington every day.
“Just think of what Trump will be able to do today without The ResistanceTM at their swampy desks. Given his level of energy, he can sell us out to Russia by noon, build 1,000 miles of border wall by 5 pm, evict the United Nations from New York and sign a condo conversion deal for the buildings before dinner is finished.”

BT 3:14 – I could have sworn CO2 was the problem. Now it’s “imperialism”.
And the biggest imperialist by far these days is China. I’d love to see those dancing fools try that in Beijing.
This isn’t science in any way – it’s theater. Of the absurd.
Folks like Frisch love to try and distance themselves from this folly, but he’ll turn around and point them as ‘proof’ his side is ‘winning’.
If we could all just have our own private jets to fly around the world and warn our lessers of the impending doom, we’d have the global crises all solved in double time.

It hurts when the truth is acknowledged by the judiciary ya socialist lamestream bitches!
Some legal experts view the rulings as signs that the courts’ view of the media is beginning to change, with more judges embracing the notion that major news outlets are partisan combatants rather than engaged in a dispassionate search for the truth.
“It does seem to me there is a seismic shift,” said Jane Kirtley, a University of Minnesota law professor and former executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. “Judges are being very skeptical about the news media’s motives. … I think it’s fair to raise the point of whether this is part of a general disquiet with what the media are doing and whether they’re now being seen increasingly as having a partisan agenda.”
