A Gallup poll released September 11, shows that 83 percent of American adults blame a “failure in our mental health system” as a reason for mass shootings.
According to Gallup, Americans believe the second-highest factor deserving blame is “the spread of extremist viewpoints on the internet.”
The Americans blame “easy access to guns” thirdly, but only ranked access to firearms four percentage points above the blame they placed on “drug use.”

OBSERVATIONS ON TONIGHT’S DEBATE
“Sure, I know it isn’t over. I didn’t watch it to the end. Who possibly could? My comments will be brief:
1) Joe Biden was the winner tonight. He pretended to be sane, and did a decent imitation.
2) Julian Castro–did anyone remember that he was on the stage?–is running to be Elizabeth Warren’s VP. He did her dirty work tonight.
3) It’s time to pull the plug on Bernie Sanders. It’s not just that he is a raving maniac–he is an extremely elderly raving maniac. I hope he made it through the night.
4) Early on in the campaign, I thought Kamala Harris had a good shot. I was wrong.
5) Andrew Yang showed himself to be the quintessential Democrat. He gets votes the old-fashioned way: he buys them. Unfortunately, he could only afford to buy 12.
6) I heard a rumor that Amy Klobuchar participated tonight, but I can’t verify it.”

The Democrats’ third presidential debate was a long-winded, platitude-filled disaster where no single candidate could claim a clear victory. Instead, the seven men and three women took turns displaying why they are all probably unelectable.
Start with Joe Biden’s incoherence. The nominal frontrunner, the former vice president had a 40-year reputation for never shutting up. Now he can’t manage to finish a sentence without interrupting himself.
Nearly all his efforts to make a point were swamped by a sudden change of direction mid-sentence, and then another change a few words later as a random thought popped into his head and out his mouth. None of his rivals needed to interrupt him–he did it to himself.
Most of the time I had no idea what he was trying to say, let alone what he actually said. I veered between feeling sorry for him and expecting the AFLAC duck to come out on stage and shake its head in bewilderment.

The law in question is the Code of Virginia “Memorials for War Veterans” rule, which states:
It shall be unlawful for the authorities of the locality, or any other person or persons, to disturb or interfere with any monuments or memorials so erected, or to prevent its citizens from taking proper measures and exercising proper means for the protection, preservation and care of same.
Moore’s ruling came as part of a lawsuit filed by a group hoping to protect the statues from the left-wing politicians looking to move them.
The suit, filed in March 2017, alleged that when the city council announced that it intended to destroy the statues to C.S. Gens. Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson, it was violating the very law that Moore affirmed in his ruling.”
Moore recognized that the statues have become controversial, but he was obliged to order that they stay where they stand. He wrote in the ruling:
While some people obviously see Lee and Jackson as symbols of white supremacy, others see them as brilliant military tacticians or complex leaders in a difficult time … and do not think of white supremacy at all and certainly do not believe in, accept or believe in such. In either event, the statues to them under the undisputed facts of this case still are monuments and memorials to them, as veterans of the civil war.”
