I completely agree with what she said,” Loftus said. “There’s no way Eric McCormack was misquoted. He said exactly what he thought: ‘Gimme a list of the people going so I know who I don’t want to work with.’ And Debra Messing was right there to back him up.”

Tozer- Boy do you find skewed sources.
Recycling the fiberglass and composites in wind blades is so profitable that a company in Texas (GFS) will pick them up anywhere in the country for free. They hope to be able to process 8 tons an hour by the end of the year. It is rumored they will be building a second recycling plant in the midwest next year and soon will be using the same technology to recycle boat hulls.

Well, the company best start driving 2,000 miles round trip to pick up those wind turbines. Nobody else can recycle them or wants them. Maybe some electric semis charged by coal fired plants will keep them rolling down the road, plus the driversโ€™ labor and bennies. There will be thousands of wind turbine blades to pick up as their twenty year life is expiring.

Sure bub, that recycling is really profitable. That’s why all the centers are closing here in California. I heard from Kilroys here in GV that scrap metal is priced so low that they can’t pick it up anymore. Maybe your sources are fibbing? And how do you recycle fiberglass? Give us the process so we can all learn.

The blades float to the facility on good thoughts and best wishes. The ‘recycling’ uses no energy at all. None. It’s magic.
Anyone who tries to determine the carbon footprint of anything the greenies like is a ‘terrorist’ and needs to be shut out of polite society.

The swamp creatures still stonewalling even after the IG report –
A congressional source confirmed to Fox News that more than 15 months later, the FBI has still not responded to a May 21, 2018 letter from Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, asking questions about FBI senior executives, their communications and their actions at the Jan. 6, 2017 Trump Tower briefing on the dossier.
The FBI declined to comment Wednesday.
The letter specifically asks about the timing of the FBI learning that media outlets had the dossier, FBI prep notes for the briefing and all communications between then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and then-FBI Director James Comey. The letter also highlighted an email exchange among senior FBI leadership from then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe with the subject line โ€œFlood is coming,โ€ indicating that CNN would soon go forward with a โ€œsensitive story.” That’s believed to be in reference to the dossier.
Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, Clapper and National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers met with Trump at the meeting– which dealt in part with the Intelligence Community Assessment into Russiaโ€™s election interference in the 2016 campaign.
The recently released inspector general’s report on Comey indicated how the FBI director and his top deputies went to great lengths to confront Trump at the meeting about the salacious and unverified accusations contained in the dossier, which had been funded by Democrats and drafted by British ex-spy Christopher Steele.

Rebane touched on the true costs of wind energy here:
    https://rebaneruminations.typepad.com/rebanes_ruminations/2019/08/scattershots-6aug19.html#comments
The true energy usage of green products like turbines, panels, and batteries must includ the mining (from Africa, Bolivia, etc) transportation or raw materials, and energy used in production of manufacturing. Recycling has always been the big one. Need to be broken down and sent to special facilities, which require more energy.
Somewhere in posts past was a good article from a pro-electric car trade magazine that counted all the energy used to make the electric cars with batteries and for a 70k electric vehicle, one has to drive 110,000 miles before the energy reaches the break even point.
But, all in all, recycling is the big one. The chickens have yet come home to roost. Itโ€™s not like every facility is equipped to recycle every product. Not like shedding tires to add to asphalt.
    โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”-
Todd, last year I called around to get a junk small car towed off. I expected to get a hundred bucks or so per usual. They wanted $150 bucks to haul if off with pink slip, lol. I called another place which I have done business before and they said they donโ€™t do take junk cars no more because the price of steel plummeted. At least small cars. Since the car was close to where they were and parked just off the highway, the owner agreed to pick it for free, but made it clear that they really were not interested and they donโ€™t take cars out to the boonies no more. He did it as a favor for me. Donโ€™t know the current price of metal, but now you got to pay them to haul it off. Just like a tow job. ๐Ÿ™‚

Another electric car cost never counted – one of my neighbors is a fireman/emt. He’s been telling me about the extra training and cost of rescuing people from and containing the waste of wrecked electric cars. All fire departments/rescue groups have to incure these costs. Costs have a carbon footprint that is magically whisked away in the moral superiority of the greenies.
    Ain’t magic fun?

Oh boy, 8 tons an hour sounds like a lot. What, 8-10 blades a day, lol.
โ€œThe facility is currently capable of processing two or three blades per day, or 2-3 tons per hour on an eight-hour shift. At full production, expected by the end of 2019, the plant will be able to process eight tons per hour.โ€
โ€œAs far as wind turbine blades are concerned, GFS charges system owners to collect decommissioned blades. The turbine owners would otherwise have to pay for collection and landfilling. Some counties are already banning turbine blades from their landfills, Englund noted.โ€
In the meantime……..my sources may or may not suck. Bloomberg New Energy Finance and closer to the stink, they might as well be non recyclable of all practical purposes in the here and now. Maybe they will be turned into some coffee table you can buy at IKEA.

Well RL,, don’t blame US!! As I recall(very well I might add)
the ECO gang of the 70’s and 80’s were all about saving the trees. Plastic this and that was the way to go! Remember? McD’s was evil because the burger boxes were made of paper, and so were the cups!! EVERYTHING made out of trees was evil!
Then the great push to recycle paper. The PV fire dept did a great job. We had 10 semi trailers loaded in no time… And there they sat.. for months. No one wanted the damned stuff.I’m surprised they still ain’t sitting there.
The ECO gang demanded a replacement for glass.. So they got it. Plastic bottles.
Your the ECO guy here,, you come up with a solution. Plastic was your side’s big idea.
Yet what are we going back to? That’s RIGHT!! Paper,, made of trees!

Don’t you think efficient lightbulbs might save a few bucks on that bloated PG&E bill we’re all going to get in the near future?

The Presidents diplomatic/military seismic changes in the west pacific and Indian ocean to the Arabian gulf have destroyed the chi coms belt and road dreams.
Even the PI has had enough and take joy at Xi losing face. The bully looks to have a bit of a bloody nose does he not?

JIM GOMEZ,Associated Press 28 minutes ago
MANILA, Philippines (AP) โ€” The Philippine president has acknowledged he’s short of solutions to press China to adhere to Manila’s arbitration victory in their South China Sea disputes after he said Chinese President Xi Jinping told him flatly: “We will not budge.”
President Rodrigo Duterte spoke for the first time about his talk with Xi about the thorny disputes in a televised news conference Wednesday night where he was asked what move he would take next. Duterte, who has nurtured friendly ties with China, met Xi in Beijing last week.
“They’re claiming it as their own and the bad part is that they are claiming it as their historical right and they have the control over the property,” Duterte said. “That’s our problem… If you can help by suggesting, is there any other suggestion? Or have you heard of any sane solution short of going to war with China saying, ‘we will not budge”’?
The Philippine leader has long been criticized by nationalists and left-wing groups for not immediately demanding Chinese compliance with a 2016 ruling by an arbitration tribunal in The Hague that declared China’s claims to virtually the entire South China Sea invalid under the 1982 U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The ruling also upheld the Philippines’ sovereign rights over a wide stretch of waters called the exclusive economic zone, where Chinese territorial claims have delayed for years Manila’s plan to explore and extract potential undersea deposits of oil and gas.
Duterte said he raised the arbitration ruling in a meeting with Xi and other Chinese officials and he quoted the Chinese leader as replying almost in a whisper: “You know, our statement was ‘We will not budge.’ We don’t want to discuss that because it’s ours. We own the property. Why should we talk to you?”
Duterte said he reacted by telling Xi that, “It will remain a problem. It will be … just like a sore thumb that sticks out painfully every day.”
Xi at that point tried to shift from the topic, and Duterte said he did not press on, knowing the Chinese president has been preoccupied by anti-government protests in Hong Kong.
“Out of courtesy, I said, ‘Well, I will not, maybe, insist on your answer now. I am not satisfied with your answer, but I will not ask for any other answer. I’ll just remain where I am, where I started considering that you are under stress by the incidents in Hong Kong.’”
“They have a problem so he’s hot-headed. We should time it. You know, the art of diplomacy,” Duterte said. “If a person loses a child or is left by his girlfriend, he’ll really be hot-headed.”

“So what do you geniuses suggest we do with all this plastic? Just dump it in the ocean? Have any of you seen the videos of the dead birds out there on Midway, carcasses full of plastic? I’m waiting?…”
This issue, my dear boy, was about the large amount of plastic crap that the green new deal folks are foisting off on the world.
If you are truly concerned about deceased birds (you are not) then check out what those giant wind blades do to birds.
Crabb is like all so-called greenies – full of shit.
No intelligence, no knowledge, but full of ‘good intentions’.
Good intentions, are – as we have learned since a few centuries ago the stuff the road to hell is paved with.
The topic is the cycle of carbon in the production of energy and it looks like once again, the greenies have no clue. The blades need to be dealt with and it takes energy to do that. Or just bury them in huge pits.
Would Crabb like to pay for either choice?
Crabb just left the building and will not entertain us with any further thoughts.
