……and for those idiots (myself included) who thought Trump couldn’t “order” companies out of China 🇨🇳!
    From the always invaluable Instapundit…..

”SO A LOT OF PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK ARE SAYING THAT OF COURSE PRESIDENT TRUMP CAN’T “ORDER” A PRIVATE BUSINESS TO GET OUT OF CHINA. In fact, he almost certainly can do just that, so long as he makes the right declaration. Under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, better known in the trade as IEEPA, presidents have a virtual blank check on regulating economic transactions with other countries, so long as they declare a national emergency — which can include one based on economic threats.
I’m not saying this is a good idea, but the people saying that “Trump’s an idiot, presidents can’t do that” are displaying their ignorance. Presidents absolutely can do that. Note that at present Trump is spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt, by tweeting the order but NOT making the declaration that would be required to give it effect. It’s thus a shot across the bow — a metaphor that fits this quite well, really.
See also this earlier post, discussing an Obama action, and U.S. v. Spawr Optical, a disturbing but unexceptional example of judicially endorsed presidential power over international trade.”

What a stupid comment fish. Even Trump would never do that because of the uproar it would cause therefore he’s lying when he says he’s going to do it. Typical gabble from our Liar in Chief.
Of course you would support it, we all know that, so what’s the point of your argument anyway?

You are nothing but a mindless windbag. All your talk about Trump ordering US companies out of China is hot air reeking of anchovies. Walmart has over 100 stores in China and a massive infrastructure for importing Walmart branded product from China. Do you think Walmart shareholders (American taxpayers and voters) are going sit placidly by as Herr Trump “orders” an immediate ceases and desist for all of WalMart business in China?

Ok, a topic not discussed in great detail or at length here: The NeverTrumpers, I.e., the group without a constituency. Even contains a photo of Robert Crass’s loverboy.
“The prominence of Never Trump pundits in liberal outlets is mostly fueled by a wistful longing for the days of the principled conservative who always lost.”
“This doesn’t mean that all of these conservatives supporting Trump think he is the greatest president of all time, the only one who can save us, or some great moral leader. Some of Trump’s core supporters feel that way, but most don’t. Most see politics as transactional, and given the choice between Trump’s eccentricities and the Democrats’ extreme and radical policy positions, they quite reasonably prefer the former.
“I myself was a Never Trumper prior to his election in 2016. Like most conservative writers, I decided the responsible way to go forward after his victory was to call balls and strikes. Within about a year, I was confident that Trump’s presidency was not the existential crisis I had feared. But for a handful of prominent conservatives, that was not an option. Jennifer Rubin, Max Boot, Bill Kristol, Rick Wilson, and Tom Nichols, among others, continue to believe Trump is an existential threat.
“There are Never Trumpers for whom I still have a lot of respect, others less so, but on the whole they tend to be a pretty accomplished group and are certainly entitled to their opinions. This in part explains why media outlets give them so much coverage, even though they represent the views of so few conservatives. But it’s not the only reason. The bigger reason is that they give hope to a left very worried that the right will not go back to being a docile political force with a tendency to get bulldozed.“

Obama just laid out about 15 million for a place on the water in Martha’s vineyard. I thought the oceans were going to rise in ten years or so. Seems to be a bad investment on his part. Think he has flood insurance on the place.
And add this 8 bedroom, nine bath, house to Al Gore’s 28,000 sq. ft. place in Tennessee and Bernie’s three homes and his flying around on a private jet. After reading a lot of what happened in the post-Ted Stevens case regarding sanctions of dirty prosecutors (and other cases where the Supreme Court unanimously overturned a guilty verdict), it saddens me to say nothing meaningful will happen to those in our institutions that conspired to bring forth the Russian Collusion Soft Coup. The cabal will walk unscathed. “Nothing hurt but my pride”, and some minor embarrassment. Just going by history.
At least one young prosecutor in the Stevens case had the decency to hang himself afterwards. Withholding exculpatory evidence is part of obstruction of Justice, not to mention lying to the court or presenting false evidence. Heck, withholding evidence is part of obstruction of justice AND perjury. The sin of omission. The other two sanctioned by the Justice Department in the Stevens case got only a bad mark on their file and then had an Administrate Court toss those “sanctions” out. And we haven’t even touched on the now defunct Arthur Anderson in the Enron case and…..anyway,
Andrew McCarthy on two-tiered Justice system.

Poor Obama. Left the WH and bought a mega mansion in CA. Now, his 9,000 square foot house in DC is just too cramped and it gets hot in DC in the summer. And Martha’s Vineyard? I know, they don’t want t impose on friends who have mansions in Martha’s Vineyard or lease a mega beach house for the summer or get a nice hotel room for a couple of weeks to enjoy their summer vacation. Why not just buy a little place so we don’t intrude on our friends….a little place with a little mere 29 acres of beachfront property.

Now now Todd. No puffery. However, while you are at it, plant that flag of superior moral authority on the top of the mountain for all to see. Like playing Capture the Flag in the rugged terrain. Yank that flag out of the Lefties’s hands and wave it for all to see. The banner means something to them. Means a lot. It’s all they got.
“…..Spaniards were emerging from a narrow pass among the cliffs … they came suddenly upon an extended plain. Here to their amazement, they found an enormous army” arrayed against the few hundred Spaniards who had just limped into a final ambush. Abbot describes the Aztec forces as “a living ocean of armed men,” numbering 200,000 strong.
Cornered, and out of options, Cortez decided to lead his men into a final, suicidal charge against the overwhelming odds. Cortez led his rag-tag forces in a frontal assault, mustering all the speed he could out of his wounded, exhausted, and starving forces.
Before the Aztecs could drown them with superior numbers, Cortez’s forces reached the Aztec’s blood-red banner and he seized it. Cortez had fought enough battles with the Aztecs to recognize the banner was a sacred symbol of Aztec authority. With their banner gone, the Aztecs lost morale and panicked, breaking into disorganized chaos. With the chain of command destroyed, Cortez seized one of the most audacious military victories in human history.”
