[Was going to intro this sandbox with a comment on the current Trump/Cummings imbroglio, but reader Todd Juvinall's comment in the last Scattershots covers it pretty well. "Elijah Cummings district is truly a shithole district. Most of the urban blight is contained in the areas represented by the Con Black Caucus. With over 40 members I have watched them most of my political years and they are as impotent (as) Steve Frisch. Their districts are shitholes. We see the same thing now in LA with the Hispanic Caucus. If they would cast off their leftist robes of failure and embrace Republican values and ideas they could revitalize their shitholes. But they won't. The press is siding with these failed politicians against Trump. He sure says what is true." gjr]

You have got to be shitting us, Paul.
Cummings was ‘attacking’ Trump and Trump simply pointed out to Cummings that he’d best clean up his own room before making any negative comments about anyone else.
The ‘research’ on Baltimore has already been done by:
The Black Dem mayor of Baltimore who was appalled at the smell of the rats.
PBS – In a piece pointing out the problems of Baltimore, including rat infestation.
And the citizens of Baltimore who are fed up with it.
Question for Paul and the idiot left: what was E. Cummings net worth before he was elected vs now and how does it compare with the average net worth of the citizens of Baltimore over the same time period?
Economic justice much?

According to the Hill, one lawmaker called Monday evening’s mass shakeup a “Monday Night Massacre.”
The high tensions within the DCCC mirror the bigger power struggle between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the far-left members of the “Squad” – Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) – who aim to move the Democrat Party farther left in terms of ideology and self-imposed racial-based quotas. However, moderate Democrats worry that the extreme left-wing flank will alienate moderate voters and cost them crucial elections.
This was not the first time Bustos has faced criticism for being too “moderate.”

Got any more bright ideas?
“By nearly every estimate, the Green New Deal environmental plan pushed by Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would carry a hefty price tag — one study put the cost at $51 trillion, another at $93 trillion.
“A new study released jointly by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) and Power the Future on Tuesday found that state-by-state case the GND would rack up crippling costs. The state of Pennsylvania, for example, would need to spend $1 trillion to upgrade residential, commercial and industrial buildings as mandated in the GND, and Florida would need to pony up $1.4 trillion, according to the study.”

Ironically and more substantially, the Border Patrol detainment facilities, albeit overcrowded, are a hell of a lot cleaner, nicer, and safer than what that the po neglected forgotten Americans living in the hell hole of Baltimore. No comparison.
Walk down the streets of the shithole and ask people at random if they wish they didn’t like there. As them if they could get out, would they?
Talk about kids in cages. The shithole Dem run cities are one big cage of hopelessness and despair. The school system is the worse in the nation. Locked in kids, no escape. Latch key. The teachers union has a total stranglehold on the city, so no hope, no change. Stuck in a living hell. How some folks (as in any shithole in anywhere) can carry on with a good attitude and are determined to be keep their spirits up is a testimony to the awesome resilience of the human spirit in the most dire and hopeless of circumstances. Amazing, the few are true saints. An inspiration to us all.

Stealing the trophies out of the cabinet
“But, I must admit there is a part of me — an admittedly cynical and vengeful part of me — that thinks we should just let the Left prevail on this issue. Perhaps we should allow them to do exactly what they’re trying to do: abolish women’s sports. There is something to be said for sitting back, kicking up our feet, and waiting for the inevitable and not-far-off day when the top competitors in every women’s sport at every level are men. If we stopped resisting, I think the time will shortly come when entire teams of testosterone-fueled men are winning basketball and soccer championships against women. There would certainly be nothing preventing that eventuality, if the Left has its way.
“So, maybe they should have their way then. Let them reap what they sow. Let them — let everyone — experience the very real and tangible consequences of progressive ideology in action. It is one thing to argue about leftist gender theory in the abstract. It is another thing to see the lunacy manifested before you, in the form of a 6’5″ male putting up 80 points a game in women’s basketball. That could be an educational experience that our country needs. I can sit here all day and insist that the Left’s claims about gender are crazy and destructive. Sometimes, though, it is better to show than tell.
“At least, that is what part of me wants to say.
“In the end, I cannot fully adopt this strategy — as much as I see the appeal and the potential effectiveness of it — because leftists will not be the ones first and foremost punished. The people who will really feel the burn of the stove are the girls whose sports are taken from them. I have a daughter who might want to be an athlete one day. Why should she suffer, why should she be punished, for the sins of deranged leftists who are so drunk on their ideology that they can’t tell the difference between boys and girls anymore? I want leftists to taste their own medicine, but I don’t think innocent girls should have to taste it. And that’s the conundrum. I’m not sure how best to navigate it.”

How very socialist of them. The Women’s National Soccer team lost money and they want a raise. Must be some kind of Lefty Economics.
“From 2009 through 2019 — a timeframe that includes two Women’s World Cup championships — the Women’s National Team has earned gross revenue of $101.3 million over 238 games, for an average of $425,446 per game, and the Men’s National Team has earned gross revenue of $185.7 million over 191 games, for an average of $972,147 per game. More specifically, WNT games have generated a net profit (ticket revenues minus event expenses) in only two years (2016 and 2017). Across the entire 11-year period, WNT games generated a net loss of $27.5 million.”
“If the women’s national team has actually lost money since 2009, then I don’t even know why we’re having this debate. Sports leagues and teams aren’t paid simply by how much they win.
“They’re paid in large part by revenue generated. It’s why the worst NBA team still makes much more money than the best team in the WNBA.
“It’s called economics, and it’s really not that difficult to figure out.”

According to reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission, Trump raised over $3 million in California these past six months the Golden State is his top fundraising state, providing over 11% of his re-election cash to date.
Trump actually out-raised most of the Democratic contenders in California including Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Former Vice President Biden has raised over $2.5 million; Senator Sanders has collected $2 million and Senator Elizabeth Warren has netted just under $2 million.
Nevada County’s contributions are unique, to say the least, as they are reported by zip code to the commission. Beto O’Rourke is the top fundraiser in Penn Valley thus far with $2,140 in contributions and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has received the most contributions in North San Juan. Democratic candidate and author Marianne Williamson can claim the prize in Alta Sierra with $2,800. Bernie Sanders has received $5,321 from Nevada City and $769 from Smartsville. Over the hill in Truckee, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar has collected $7,800 to date.
