[Was going to intro this sandbox with a comment on the current Trump/Cummings imbroglio, but reader Todd Juvinall's comment in the last Scattershots covers it pretty well. "Elijah Cummings district is truly a shithole district. Most of the urban blight is contained in the areas represented by the Con Black Caucus. With over 40 members I have watched them most of my political years and they are as impotent (as) Steve Frisch. Their districts are shitholes. We see the same thing now in LA with the Hispanic Caucus. If they would cast off their leftist robes of failure and embrace Republican values and ideas they could revitalize their shitholes. But they won't. The press is siding with these failed politicians against Trump. He sure says what is true." gjr]

And Pee-line, I notice when you can’t maintain a line of thought you change the subject!
What happened to your ‘diversity’!
Oh – that’s right, it’s something in your head when you live in whitey white town.
“I’m very, very diverse in my mind”.
Say- you go to Baltimore and tell that to the street folk.

So – after all is said and done, Pee-line admits he wouldn’t want to live in Idaho.
He claims he has been here several times and the only eatery he can name is not down town and is near the Mormon Temple.
Apparently Idaho is too non-white for him and his family so he resides in one of the whitest counties in CA but don’t worry he is ‘diverse’ in his mind and his family is equally diverse in their brain sacs as well.
That’s why they choose to live in a whitey white area far, far away from Baltimore and any other diverse shit hole Pee-line went to school at.

Because Pee-line’s wife’s family HAS to live in Nevada County.
It’s a law.
Or something.
Understand they don’t want to live in Nevada County, but where else can they sip Pinot noir and claim they they are the most diverse people they know on the planet?

Scott,
Come on! You and I both know that you moved to Idaho because Nevada County was becoming too diverse for you!
Details here:
“From a political standpoint, Idaho’s “ex-Cals” are “actually very similar to the natives here,” Moncrief said. They’re not changing the political landscape much. Like most Idahoans, they tend to be conservative. In some cases, they’re more conservative than Idahoans.

Re: The 18 year old citizen who was held by ICE for 3 weeks. Well, the “mistake” was due to his Momma, a non-citizen, being a big fat liar and falsified her paperwork for her own personal benefit…..at the expense of her son.
“The Washington Post has since done some more digging and uncovered details about the case which help explain why CBP has delayed in releasing the young man: Francisco’s mother, a Mexican citizen living in Edinburg illegally, listed her son on a U.S. tourist visa as being born in Mexico. She also falsified information on his birth certificate.
“The reason it appears to have taken CBP and ICE so long to determine Galicia’s citizenship is because his mother, who is not a citizen, took out a U.S. tourist visa in his name while he was still a minor, falsely saying he was born in Mexico, Galan said,” the Post reports. “His mother, Sanjuana, told The Post that CBP discovered the visa after fingerprinting her son. The conflicting documents only fueled the agency’s suspicion that Galicia’s U.S. documents were fake, Galan said.”
“Sanjuana told the Post that she took out the falsified tourist visa for her son so he could travel back and forth across the border to visit family. The reason she couldn’t get him a passport, she explained, is that she entered a fictitious name for herself on his birth certificate. “The undocumented mother was unable to get him a U.S. passport because when Galicia was born, Galan said, she gave a different name for herself on his birth certificate,” the Post reports.

You have no idea of what kind of life I’ve led or the kinds of folk I’m comfortable with. The race baiters like Reverend Al were not always as revered like they are today.
Before losing his mind and singing from the fakenews song sheet, Representative Joe Scarborough authored and sponsored a resolution in Congress to condemn the Rev. Al.
Odd, just this morning Morning Joe was on the phone with his personal friend Al, praising the esteemed civil rights leader and bashing Trump.
https://thefederalist.com/2019/07/29/condemning-reverend-al-sharpton/
“Whereas the Reverend Al Sharpton has referred to members of the Jewish faith as “bloodsucking [J]ews”, and “Jew bastards”;
“Whereas the Reverend Al Sharpton has referred to members of the Jewish faith as “white interlopers” and “diamond merchants”;
“Whereas the Reverend Al Sharpton was found guilty of defamation by a jury in a New York court arising from the false accusation that former Assistant District Attorney Steven Pagones, who is white, raped and assaulted a fifteen year-old black girl;
“Whereas the Reverend Al Sharpton has insulted members of the Jewish faith by challenging Jews to violence and stating to Jews to “pin down” their yarmulkes; and
And murder too? Oh my.
“Whereas the Reverend Al Sharpton’s vicious verbal anti-Semitic attacks directed at members of the Jewish faith, and in particular, a Jewish landlord, arising from a simple landlord-tenant dispute with a black tenant, incited widespread violence, riots, and the murder of five innocent people;
“Whereas the Reverend Al Sharpton’s fierce demagoguery incited violence, riots, and murder in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York, following the accidental death of a black pedestrian child hit by the motorcade of Orthodox Rabbi Menachem Schneerson;
Well, they do say that Al Sharpton went from a jumpsuit to a $1,500 pin stripped suit.

Jeff Pelline – I have allowed the above offal from the FUE’s most recent visitation to remain as an expanding archive of the measure of the man. Empty of ideas, he came again to denigrate the anti-Left denizens of RR comment streams. His acerbic conversation remains as witness to the man’s character and further evidence of the level traction that his own online efforts enjoy. When he finally becomes desperate to be heard, he arrives here, and then has less than nothing to say. He is a poster-child for the ancient wisdom – ‘Small minds speak of people, average minds speak of events, and great minds speak of ideas.’ (To be sure, in these pages we all take occasional detours from greatness 😉 but most of us are acutely aware of the measure of us it leaves with our readers. Therefore, this must also serve as my awkward apology for bringing up the FUE.)

Go get them, President Trump. Maybe nothing will be done about the crime infested neighborhoods in major cities run and owned by Democrats for decades. Maybe something good can come out of this, maybe not. If I or the reader expect any Dem to take responsibility for the decay, it is an expectation too far. They will never take ownership for their actions or part in it. Still, the urban blight in our cities is a black eye on our nation. Can’t call them ghettos, it is hateful. Same with barrios. Whatever you call the seedy side of town or the wrong side of the tracks, it’s a living hell hole.
It is interesting that when film companies scout around to film scenes in dangerous or impoverished 3rd countries, they say Baltimore is prefect. No sets to be built, the exteriors are ready to go. Bring in the extras, put them in peasant clothes and roll camera. Many of the buildings and homes look nice on the outside, but inside everything has been stripped, even the floors.
Also interesting is all the weekend interviews with locals on the street (black folk) in Baltimore I watched have been taken down by FB. Gone. Disappeared. Darn, I was going to post one particular interview about a long term resident’s feelings about Elijah Cummings, the articulate woman pleading for the Congressman to help the community. “Clothing donations, anything. Something! Help us Congressman. We need your help. We live here.” And she was not slamming Elijah, but was saying to at least come down there and see for yourself.
In all the political maneuvering and Trump is a racist banter, one important thing we must never forget. It is the most vulnerable that are being preyed on in crime infested neighborhoods. The ones that cannot defend themselves nor have the means to get out. Many are immigrants. Most are trapped. The cost of unsafe and unhealthy living conditions is too high for the ones the Left says they care about the most.
I know what Walter E. Williams would say. I know what Thomas Sowell would say. And I know what Larry Elder (the Sage of South-Central) would say.

Yes, indeed, the buck does stop with Trump. I am thrilled he brought the blight to light front and center. I agree. Maybe this will be the start of something good. Trump (or any President) inherits stuff that needs to be addressed and hopefully improved. The economy, bad trade deals, decaying infrastructure, joblessness, burdensome or inefficient government, etc. Too many issues, so little time. We live in an imperfect world, no doubt.
Best is to prioritize the things that can be addressed or improved. Or at least keep from making things worse. Stop the bleeding first, then work on the gash.
Can’t change human nature or solve every problem that bedevils mankind, nor is it possible to wave a magic wand and make everyone happy. Climate Change? Will never be solved within 12 years as long as China and India cancel out our efforts and increase their footprint, for a small example.
“Think globally, act locally” as the Lefties would say. “It takes a village.” I, too, believe that charity begins at home. The dollar only stretches so far. And, of course, everybody has an opinion. I think our education crisis (the dumbing down of America) can be solved, but the blow back is intense. Man is it ever. Reform sometimes appears impossible.
Was it Reagan that said, “No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!” I do believe it was that fascist “worse than Hitler” Ronnie Rayguns who uttered that statement.
Keeping America Great comes with Herculean efforts. But, it is a noble and just cause. One man cannot do it alone, but Together We Can. Yes We Can! Be brave my man. This calls for Hope and Change.

Sign of the times….
-Germany: A 40-year-old African migrant has been arrested after allegedly pushing a woman and her eight-year-old son into the path of an oncoming express train. The incident comes just over a week since Bosnian migrant Jackson B. was accused of throwing 34-year-old Anja B. in front of a train in North-Rhine Westphalia that also led to her death.
Last year another migrant, a 23-year-old asylum seeker from India, attempted to kill a 5-year-old boy along with himself in Wuppertal after grabbing the boy from his family at a train station and jumping in front of a moving train.
Several other incidents of violence have been carried out by migrants in and around train stations in Germany this year including a 50-man brawl in Rastatt, a Syrian man attacking police in a rampage in Augsburg and an Islamic State-linked Iraqi who allegedly attempted to derail trains in Bavaria.” (Yawn. Nothing to see there.)

Wow! This one actually is “The Sign of the Times.” An illegal was actually tried and convicted of reckless murder. Most usual. Very uncommon.
“Last week 20-year-old Jorge Ruiz, an illegal alien from Mexico, was convicted of killing Marlena Hayes in a car crash on October 28, 2018. The conviction came after 19th Judicial Circuit Chief Assistant District Attorney C.J. Robinson, Circuit Judge Bill Lewis, and Autauga County law enforcement officials worked to ensure that Ruiz was not able to flee to Mexico to evade the murder charges.”
“Ruiz’s conviction is notable as state officials are not always successful in making sure that charged illegal aliens are not deported before they are tried for their alleged crimes. In the case of 22-year-old Pierce Corcoran, the illegal alien charged with his death was deported to his native Guatemala after being released on a $3,500 bond.
“Now he’s returned home to his family, and it’s kind of a hard thing because our son is forever separated from us,” Angel Mom Wendy Corcoran told Breitbart News at the time.”

”Three days after President Donald Trump attacked Baltimore as a “rat and rodent infested mess,” Gov. Larry Hogan called his comments “outrageous and inappropriate.”
“Enough is enough,” Hogan, the state’s Republican governor, said in an interview Monday on WBAL-AM’s “C4″ show. “People are completely fed up with this kind of nonsense. Why are we not focused on solving the problems and getting to work? … Quite frankly, what is the president doing? What is the Congress doing?”
Hogan has been criticized, including by his predecessor Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley, for not speaking out against Trump, a fellow Republican.
Hogan’s spokesman released a statement over the weekend that said: “Baltimore city is truly the very heart of our state, and more attacks between politicians aren’t going to get us anywhere.””’

We note that none of the outrages contained stats to counter the metrics that people use to define shithole cities. Apparently the outrages were for someone finally highlighting the blight that has become synonymous with the congressman’s district. Or maybe there’s another explanation?

Re: Outsourcing. Usually somebody snarks, “We live global economy, where have you been, knuckle dragger? #Sad.”
Many jobs will not come back. But, if a factory had 11,000 workers in its heyday and now because of Trump’s policies, reopened with 900 or 1,700 workers, that’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Bringing some jobs home here, bringing a few tens of billions dollars back there due to lower cooperate tax rates that drove companies overseas. Not all, but slowed the bleeding. Yep, some of those empty factories (and factory towns) dotting the landscape like tombstones are turning the lights back on. Hey, at one time Dutch Flat came in 4th in the balloting for the town to be the Capital of the new State of CA. Dutch Flat may never be but a shell of its former self. Same with Humbug. Or the old China Town in GV where the Holiday Inn sits now….which also was the spot of Greyhound Bus Depot and maintenance yard. Take Greyhound and leave the driving to us. But the new mode of transportation in the Golden State appears to be a U-Haul. Water is the new gold since the 30’s.
The only constant in life is change. Now, if only CA can learn from Trump and lower taxes, reduce business regs, and not kill (destroy) the economy with high energy costs and fees, then maybe more folks will not flee. Nah, never happen. Addicted to tax dollars. Forced to pay to stay. Money, money, money.
Nationally, we gave others the rope to hang ourselves. Don’t think we can outlaw a company from picking up stakes and moving overseas. Might be some little matter of the Constitution getting in the way. The green sprouts Obama talked about are finally taking about. 🙂

When people riot and burn down their own homes it sends a message to others that you might not want to be here. When a business is robbed and stolen from constantly it sends a message that maybe it has to leave and others refuse to come. That seems to be the issue with urban areas.
Perhaps if the folks there did not sector the means for the livelihood it could possibly change. Trump has sent in the people, methods and money for “Enterprise Zones” and they have been destroyed, robbed and murdered.

Are they All impotent? And when Trump shines the light on the shithole, they all start scurrying like the cockroaches they are. Turn on the lights and the rats take cover. I never had seen such CYA finger pointing in decades. Now, since Trump’s little harmless tweets, they have ratchet up the finger pointing to 11 on the ‘blame the other guy’ meter
Gotta smoke them out.
Well, if not tweeting and not attacking the politicians closer to the stink has not got
us anywhere, then perhaps Hogan is wrong and attacking politicians for not doing THEIR jobs just might get them off their chairs and on the stick. Shit or get off the pot.

RATS! IT’S DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN
Fifty-nine House Democrats joined with 148 Republicans to vote down the rat bill. It was the rhetoric, and not the comparatively modest sum involved, that made this a notable episode. Congressmen joked about LBJ’s “civil rats” bill, with a “rat corps” to be presided over by “a high commissioner of rats.” “Mr. Speaker,” the typical speech went, “ I think the ‘rat smart thing’ for us to do is to vote down this rat bill ‘rat now.’” Florida Democrat James Haley suggested releasing “federally funded cats” in the cities instead. The rat bill was successfully revived at the end of the year as a part of a bigger spending bill, but its ignominious treatment in mid-summer foreshadowed the growing revolt against the relentless centralization of modern liberalism.
P.S. When Trump acquired the dilapidated building that became his first major real estate deal—the Park Hyatt Hotel on 42nd Street—he solved the building’s rat infestation during renovations by rounding up stray cats in New York City and moving them into the building. The rat infestation was eradicated quickly—without a government program!

Looks like Trumps son in law is a major contributor to what Trump calls an ‘infested mess’ in Baltimore including “maggots coming out of a living room carpet.”
“It is certainly ironic that the president’s own son-in-law was complicit in contributing to some of the neglect that the president purports to be so concerned about,” Baltimore County Executive John A. Olszewski Jr. told the Washington Post on Saturday.
The paper reported that “in 2017, Baltimore County officials revealed that apartments owned by the Kushner firm were responsible for more than 200 code violations, all accrued in the span of the calendar year. Repairs were made only after the county threatened fines, local officials said, and even after warnings, violations on nine properties were not addressed, resulting in monetary sanctions.
“There were also complaints about maggots coming out of a living room carpet, raw sewage flowing out of a sink, black mold exacerbating a child’s asthma so severely that he was hospitalized twice and a refrigerator not working for so long that a family had to survive “on canned food and boxed milk.”
Kushner Cos. owns almost 9,000 rental units at 17 complexes in Maryland, with most of those located in Baltimore County, according to the Baltimore Sun.”

Systemic unemployment is well underway due to technology advancing. And it always starts in the poorest neighborhoods where people with the least education, poorest skill sets, and/or deficient work place cultures. Our Democrat politicians have done all possible to make sure that their urban minority constituents get the poorest education, job training opportunities, and workplace acculturation possible. The plantation must be maintained and the results are what we see. It would definitely be a racist argument to claim that blacks are not able to productively use the monies that are lavished on them and their neighborhoods. And even more so to point out that they could be caring for their neighborhoods and neighbors with a markedly different approach – culture, culture, culture. So I wonder what kind of pabulum their political leaders hand them to explain away their misfortunes, because the bullshit they tell the rest of the country just doesn’t fly.

Too late Punchy! Hi ya Paul Emery. The AV projector Booth Man beat you to it yesterday. You got some catching up to do. Did you see Mueller’s testimony?
At least Kushner had tenants. Half those building at vacant. Strike that. Blocks of those slumlord places are empty now. Places for vagrants, hobos, and song writers…and dopers. And a strict gun control very green state. Just goes to show ya that Baltimore (parts of) are real vomit inducing shitholes.
On the bring side, since all the local restaurants are boarded up, you will not have to suffer through the experience of sitting in a restaurant front window seat and witness someone dropping the drawers and deificating on the sidewalk smack dap in front of you while you are enjoying the lovely dining experience…just like in Frisco! Another shithole that is Blue and oh so Green and anti-gun and run by birdbrain Lefties. Use a straw, go to jail. The real rats run the place. Have you read about the rats in LA? Man, they are talking about epidemics like the Black Death bubonic plague coming back. A lovely place to visit. All blue all the time.
I hope Kushner takes their front door off if the are ever late on the rent. He has a family to support.

And to think Lena Dunham went there. Lead the student protests against sushi…it was a cultural appropriation issue. Need an Asian on the food staff. Heck, most all the protests were just really complaining about the food cleverly disguised as some Social Justice urgent grievance issue.
I do know Lena feels good about her body and loves herself just as she is and has freed herself from body shame, but…damn girl…throw some clothes on. Some things are better left to the imagination.
And to think it would have all gone away if the shoplifters just come out and say the bakery was not motivated by racism when confronting a student with fake ID and then shoveling bottles of wine down his pants. The offenders finally copped to no racism involved, but the SJWs went nuts and school sent the student body down with bullhorns and flyers and demonstrated in front of the store, telling everybody near and far the bakery discriminates against black people. And they went inside and harassed customers. The school even sent water bottles and lunch down to the students and cut off their contract with the little bakery coffee place hangout.
All the owners wanted was for the shoplifters to say they were not singled out for being black (check) and the school to reinstate the contract and a mild apology. Heck, the bakery was not even going to press charges against the guy for smashing a wine bottle over the bakery owner’s son’s head out on the street when he chased the perv down…..but no. Screw them. The local LE pressed the assault charge, not the bakery. All the stress gave grandpa a heart attack and he still hasn’t recovered. Double screw them. Liars and Libs are synonymous.

Are they going to wear Che Guevara or Mao t-shirts this time to show who is the leftiest of the lefties? –
The former centrist Democratic mayor of Tampa said the candidates were lurching much too far to the left on key policy issues, damaging the party’s chances of defeating President Donald Trump during next year’s election.
“I don’t think most Americans are comfortable with some of what they heard last debate,” Buckhorn said. “And I think it’s unfortunate.”
Buckhorn’s view is a common one among moderate Democrats. In interviews, many of them expressed deep concern that this week’s debate in Detroit will feature another inevitable shift to the left, one that will alienate swing voters in battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Last month, Democratic candidates debated — and in many cases, embraced — issues like eliminating private health insurance and decriminalizing illegal border crossings that are unpopular with the broader electorate.
“I hope that in the next debate there’s more of a discussion about education and public safety and issues of the economy and those other issues that a lot of moderates are looking for,” said former Democratic Sen. Mark Begich of Alaska.
Even more alarming, they said, was the speed at which some once-fringe issues were widely adopted by the presidential field, like decriminalizing border crossings.
The idea gained broad acceptance among most of the candidates after being introduced by former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro — despite polls showing that it had little support among the broader public and even uneven backing within the Democratic Party.
Just 27 percent of Americans say it would be a good idea to decriminalize border crossings while 66 percent say it would be a bad idea, according to a NPR/PBS NewsHour/Maris poll released last week. The idea has split support among Democrats, with 45 percent saying it would be a good idea and 47 percent saying it’s a bad idea.

Baltimore’s problem is ain’t got no jobs in the shithole, thus no businesses or hope. Or growth. There goes the neighborhood. Bye, bye. Can’t get no satisfaction. Baltimore went from a million to 650,000 folks. It’s now too dangerous for the average Joe Bag of Donuts go to stadium to watch an Oriels game. Attendance is in the toilet.
