Gold-backed dollar or not? Interesting debate now going on over how to set the value of the dollar which is fiat money but still the world’s leading reserve currency. Gold is pooh-poohed by governments and pundits as just an “alternative asset class” which serves many as a “speculative store of value”. Interesting to note is that it is the governments who hoard massive amounts of gold and use it to clear inter-nation trade accounts. Hmm?
Counting Trump’s ‘lies’ has become another favorite pastime for leftwingers. Books have been written on the subject. On closer inspection, such counts include all the bravados and projections and predictions and promises that politicians over the ages and of all hues have generously poured into their constituents’ ears. Today’s under-educated TDS sufferers know nothing of this, and feel proud that they are plowing new ground in such endeavors.
AOC for all seasons and reasons. Seldom has a politician come along who gives so much pleasure to both sides campaigning in a highly polarized political landscape. Today both Repubs and Dems hope that AOC and her brood will continue spewing loud and clear their anti-American assessments and prescriptions for a fundamentally transformed US. Karl Rove calls her “the gift that keeps on giving.”
