George Rebane

I don’t know how much of this piling on of Democratic presidential candidates will go on, but that 23-member gaggle just got two more wannabes to join the race.  Talk about a snow ball’s chance in hell IMHO.  Nevertheless, I am adding #24 Mike Gravel and #25 Joe Sestak, with indicated ID numbers to the list of 23 candidates shown in my original 5jun19 Dropout Derby post (here).  I’m not sure that either of them will do much as candidates at this late date – the debates start on 26 June – but I’ll continue to accept new and updated lists until the first dropout bites the dust.  Please submit them in the vertical list format as you did before.  Thanks.

Hillary is praying the whole bunch trash each other and the convention ends up in a mess. Then the queen will have the curtain part and she’ll step out on the stage while the arena erupts into chants “Hillary, Hillary”!
Well – she can dream, can’t she?

What’s the prize again? A fine bottle of “you can’t get that here” Irish whiskey?

Walt 719pm – Actually, the prize for the winner is a good dose of sinful pride that can be exhibited in divers ways here and elsewhere 😉
Speaking of Irish whiskey (for which I again thank you) and sinful pride, For years I have had this little aphorism mounted above my liquor cabinet. It is an enduring source of comfort every time I hit the sauce.
‘It’s good for your soul to take a drop now and then, for it saves you from the sinful pride that often comes with total abstinence.’

Another Name for the clown car list:
Billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer is planning to launch his campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, a report said Sunday.
The 62-year-old Steyer — who toyed with the idea of running in the past — held a private conference call last week to tell people close to him that he was planning to run, according to Politico.
“He’s definitely focused on the [fact that the] economy is not as good as people are making it out to be,” a source told the newspaper.
“I think his heart’s in the right place. If he’s doing this, he’s got a reason behind it — He’s a very intelligent man.”
Steyer, a former hedge fund manager, founded the environmental advocacy nonprofit NextGen America.
He also founded a group, and spent millions, seeking to gain support for the impeachment of President Trump.
He would join an already crowded Democratic field with front runners such as former Vice President Joe Biden, California Senator Kamala Harris, and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

    Swalwell? Darn.
If his expected departure holds true…..Todd came the closest with Swalwell dropping out third. Nobody had Swalwell #1. Good job, Todd. On the other end of the spectrum, the worse pick was Bill T with Swalwell dropping out eleventh. That sucks. Ouch. The only other idiot to be soooo far off from the pack was one George Rebane, also at eleventh.
Moral of the story’s: Don’t listen to Bill T or George Rebane.
    Thanks for nuthin’, Barry. :).
