“I was talking to war profiteers.”
Scott “What did they say?”
Wally replied, “ya “huck”,, Blame the Repubs.”
There you have it from one of your own. “War profiteers” immediately invokes the word Republican. I didn’t say it. Wally did. I am not so limited in my opinion. Plenty of war profiteers and blood merchants on the left. Of course not a person has responded intelligently to my query, only bluster, bluff and diversions.

HuckF 923am – Other than asking you to give some evidence for your assertions Mr Flynn, what would an intelligent response be to your somewhat remarkable statement? Firing a torpedo and/or placing a limpet charge on the hull of a moving tanker reduces the number of perpetrators to a very few who could do it for political gain. I’m not aware of any private sector “war profiteers” who maintain such deployed offensive capabilities, but do know of several nations that have that capability. It is hard to believe that our Navy does not know how those ships were attacked. We have an attack sub on station there, and I’d bet the farm that Hormuz already has a very sophisticated sonar array installed (similar to the one in the GIUK gap) which tracks every waterborne object in that strait.
It is easy to generate a plausible scenario for Iran being the perpetrator, given the stress caused by our sanctions, their interest in testing the coalition’s resolve, and the requirement to maintain internal stability between Iran’s mullahs and revolutionary military. BTW, the displayed hull damage to the ships was NOT caused by a modern fleet torpedo which would easily have penetrated the tankers’ double hulls. These explosives were designed and deployed to pique and irritate for political purposes.

I did and BTW, you haven’t responded to my query at all.
But you know all about those ‘blood merchants’ even though you can’t name a single one and can provide no answer to who did damage those ships.
Oh I know, facts are just the evil tools of whiteness.

What does the BBC say? –
Iran has come under massive economic pressure over the past year, since US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal and re-imposed some of the most aggressive sanctions in US foreign policy history – targeting Iran’s oil sales, wider energy industry, shipping, banking, insurance and more.
But the re-imposition of sanctions recently by the US has significantly ratcheted up the pressure on Iran, pressure that would go some way to explaining why it might seek to threaten the international oil trade, while its own oil sits bounded by its borders.
The risk of such a strategic move is significant – the fallout is potential military escalation with the US and its allies in the region.
It is not a gamble that would have been made quickly or lightly.
It would have been taken by consensus by all the main heads of the different Iranian political institutions, with Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards (IRGC) playing a significant part given their influence over all regional dossiers, and the supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, having the final say over all matters of security and international affairs.
Iran may suspect that the risk is lower than it first seems, because Mr Trump does not want a war.
If strategic patience is in fact at an end, Iran may feel that only by displaying the range and scale of its potential destabilising activities – including disruption of the international oil trade it has been barred from – can it increase its leverage with the US, and pull itself out from under the punishing sanctions its old foe has imposed.

Now you are flying your true colors of obfuscation. But that’s what you did for a living. How deeply intrenched are “private sector” profiteers with our government? Basically one in the same. Please tell us that mercenaries and contracted militia are not trained, equipped, and funded by the government to do exactly the kind of things like covertly mining shipping lanes and launching torpedoes acquired from a hostile nation in the name of plausible deniability. From your link, I found this link:
“This has implications for reservoirs operated around the state, including Oroville and Prado Dam. “The Orange County Water District is grateful to Senator Dodd and Assemblymember Wood for their efforts in securing funding for FIRO research,” stated Vicente Sarmiento, president of OCWD. “With better weather forecasting, an additional 20,000 acre-feet of storage space could be made available for stormwater capture behind Prado Dam without impacting flood risk. Doing so would allow OCWD to capture and use an additional 20,000 acrefeet or 6.5 billion gallons of stormwater in a wet year which would otherwise drain to the Pacific Ocean. That’s enough water for 160,000 people.”
“This essential investment in public safety and sustainable water management shows true leadership and is vitally important as California works to address the challenges of climate change,” said Curt Aikens, general manager of Yuba Water Agency.
“Scripps and the coalition have also embarked on a multi-phase federal scoping study in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assess the viability of using FIRO for reservoirs in the southwest United States, where the majority of rainfall often occurs in three to four storms per year.
“Many members of the coalition have worked to optimize the amount of water stored behind reservoirs and dams to recharge as much of the limited rainfall as possible into groundwater basins and reservoirs. Large rainfall events caused by atmospheric rivers are a major source of water supply in southern California.”

So the fakenewsmen and haters claimed there was no supplemental part to the mexico migrant accord? Wrong beyotches –
Mexico City (AFP) – Mexico published the document Friday that US President Donald Trump fleetingly showed the press this week as evidence he had extracted tough new concessions on migration from the neighboring country.
Trump theatrically waved the one-page document in front of reporters Tuesday, fending off critics who said his use of tariff threats to force Mexico into a deal on curbing migration had in fact extracted little in the way of new commitments from the Mexican side.
Photojournalists managed to capture a few sentences of the document, but the full contents had not previously been revealed.
The document is a “supplementary agreement” to the deal the US and Mexico signed last Friday, and outlines additional measures the two sides agree to take.
The two countries “will immediately begin discussions to establish definitive terms for a binding bilateral agreement to further address burden-sharing and the assignment of responsibility for processing refugee status claims of migrants,” it says.
Under that “binding bilateral agreement,” the countries “would accept the return, and process refugee status claims, of third-party nationals who have crossed that party’s territory to arrive” in the neighboring country, it says.
That language appears to resemble Trump’s demand for a “safe third country” agreement in which migrants entering Mexican territory would have to seek asylum there, not the United States, and be immediately deported to Mexico if they entered the US.
The document adds that the agreement would be “part of a regional approach” to dealing with undocumented migrants and refugees.
“Mexico also commits to immediately begin examining domestic laws and regulations with a view to identifying any changes that may be necessary to bring into force and implement such an agreement,” it says.

re HuckF 1026pm – This sackhead has now shown himself to be a real lightweight among the usual leftwing lightweights who attempt debate here (BTW, there are some worthy ones also). Of course, these local lackeys only consume their blindered outlets, so he and his never see the complete spectrum of news. In this case it includes a US Navy video showing an Iranian fast boat blatantly removing an unexploded hull (limpet) mine from a tanker at sea that it had placed there earlier so as not to leave evidence of its provenance. What is doubly remarkable about worthies like HuckF is that they don’t even reliably canvas their own outlets for news that would aid them in not making complete fools of themselves in public. Here’s a report from WaPo as an example.

Gatloos? That’s an impressive stack being pushed out there on the table.

A good healthy skepticism of Big Brother is a key and necessary ingredient that our founding fathers knew all too well. After all, they were fleeing such a government. Nobody talks about the Third Amendment, but it came before the 4th and right after the 2nd for a good reason.
With that said……the blame America First! crowd is alive and kicking. Nothing we have not recently heard from Ilhan Omar (D-Somalia) when she grilled Venezuelan envoy Abrams on the role the US had in El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and other shitholes decades ago. Or, nothing one won’t hear on and given night from the crockpot on Democracy Now! No, the US did not run.death squads….the tin horn police states did that all by themselves.
There was once some fatso on KVMR many moons ago trying to raise funds from listeners (of course) to pay his trip to El Salvador to do some poking around and uncover American atrocities. Send him a dollar, 5 bucks, even ten. Raid the kid’s piggy bank.
I picked up the landline and called the station and told him I would donate 200 bucks if he promised not to return, lol. My offer was not appreciated.
Odd, that when folks like me dared to question Comey, McCabe, Clapper, and Brennan, we were met with an instant barrage of accusations of being of being a THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. Just raising the possibility of nefarious motives by government officials brought fire and brimstone upon our conspiring heads. And then, in a flash of a millisecond, they turn around and believe the largest sponsor of state terrorism on the planet and assign nefarious motives to the US government. Believe Iran First. Blame America First. Question authority, lol. America is not not-guilty. Can you say selective outrage? Good, I knew you could.
