To Duh Bestees the roads scholar — According to a law passed in 1924, Certain Congressional committees have the authority to look at anyone’s taxes. The law was specifically passed as a “check on corruption in the Executive Branch” and grew out of the Team Pot Dome Scandal. If trump is on the up and up there should be no reason for him not to provide his returns just to quell the public.. why isn’t he just doing that? Shall we guess cement overshoes and similar behavior related to standing citizens like trump?

There are times Congress can look at someone’s tax returns for legislative purposes, period. Committee members only in the cone of silence room with not recording devices,
No phones, no note taking, no experts, nothing allowed.. Not even a piece of paper.
From time to time, the Committee does look at a taxpayers returns to draft legislation.Take a look see to see how a tax policy will effect such and such billionaire or how loopholes are being exploited, etc. usually with the names are redacted. Legislation. We, as a nation of free men, give protecting the tax payer’ privacy the utmost priority. We protect the individuals from the prying eyes from everyone but the IRS. Civil liberties issue and no exception was made for POTUS or the man in the moon. Trump’s rights, my rights, your rights are at stake here. Look down the road.

Lay out the legislative purpose for looking at Trump’s tax returns or go pound gravel. The law does not allow the Justice Department or Congress to go on a fishing expedition looking for a crime. You have to have pretty good evidence that a crime has been committed, Mueller and the FBI and DOJ and the attempted interference in our election to elect Hillary and when that did not work, the coup attempt to remove a duly elected POTUS not withstanding. And it’s still going on to is hour.

The Paul Emery poll of one was, of course, the least accurate of all. Emerymath™ is a funny thing.
I don’t even think of that as mattering very much. What I care about is consistency. An inaccurate poll can be much more predictive than a more accurate one. Throw in your correction factor of choice.
In any case, all the talk about polls is purely a redirection from the real story. Russia, Russia, Russia and the attempted and ongoing coup attempts against a legally elected President. That’s where the real action is.
