[Well boys and girls, let's all talk about the released Mueller report (here). After explaining a year or two that collusion by itself is neither nefarious nor illegal, and conspiracy is surreptitious collusion with intent to harm, I smiled this morning as the NPR mavens awakened to that important distinction in their aspirations about AG Barr's talk and press conference this morning. Your task, should you be so inclined, is to find in this entertaining aftermath even a smidgen of common ground for healing the land. gjr]

WTH? North of the Rio Grande? Didn’t know they were on US soil? Isn’t the river the border?
Is there some kind of weird loop in the river or an island or what? I know there are places in Detroit where you go south to cross into Canada, but this sounds a bit fishy.

This actually messes up the left’s narrative about Trump supporters. But I doubt the left has the intelligence or the reflective ability to notice.
And it doesn’t change anything the Trump supporters charge the American left with.
Trump supporters never attacked BLM rallys, but we can’t say the same about the left attacking Trump supporters.

Because I care – The latest from DK:
“The Providence Journal reports that a man and woman were seen outside a downtown eatery on South Main Street in Providence, Rhode Island, wearing swastika armbands—the woman had on a swastika-emblazoned shirt, while the man also wore a red Make America Great Again Trump hat.
According to Sondra Pierson, who took photos of the two (the only provided photo was a man holding a Trump doll) and spoke with the Journal, the two smoked cigarettes, crossed the street to the Rhode Island Holocaust Memorial, and took photos of one another posing around the memorial park. Pierson says she confronted the two, who responded sarcastically and then got into their car and drove away. Pierson called the police, but realized there really wasn’t much the police could do.
Steven Brown, the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island, told the Providence Journal that while their actions were “shameful” and “despicable,” the two asshats were well within their legal rights.”
https://www.dailykos.com/
They called the police??!!!
This is the ‘proof’ the left has against Trump.
It’s blather.
We have no evidence of any kind who or what these people were or who put them up to what they were doing.
Nor did they represent themselves as part of any group.
DK is having kittens over this.
They weren’t violent nor did anyone accuse them of bothering them.
The American left are a bunch of intolerant wimps.
I’m not sure what bothers me more – their stupidity or their cowardice.

A conservative candidate unseated the New Democratic Party premier of Alberta Tuesday, the first time a challenger has done so to a first-term Albertan premier.
Kenney has promised that his UCP government will start with a bang, launching a frantic first 100 days of legislation to undo the work of the previous NDP government. Beyond repealing the provincial carbon tax, their first move will be to make law a bill passed last year that would “turn off the taps” on oil and gas shipments to British Columbia, a move Kenney hopes will give him leverage if the west coast province tries to further interfere with the expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline.

I admit it, I have been a coward. I have followed studies on mental illness and pot since 1979. Most were too small to talk about. Over the years, I remained quiet as bigger long term studies involving youth and pot were published. Then came longer term studies. Not everyone who picks up a beer will be an alcoholic. Not everyone who blows grass will develop severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia. There is also the.old adage, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” Which came first, the predisposition to mental illness or the drug?
I remained silent when the Union commentators filled the newspaper’s pages with the wonderful benefits of cannabis. Any hint of a contrary opinion has immediately and viciously shut down. So today, for no particular reason, I will be silent no more.
“Jackie would have been within her rights to say, I know what I’m talking about, unlike you. Instead she offered something neutral like, I think that’s what the big studies say. You should read them.
So I did. The big studies, the little ones, and all the rest. I read everything I could find. I talked to every psychiatrist and brain scientist who would talk to me. And I soon realized that in all my years as a journalist I had never seen a story where the gap between insider and outsider knowledge was so great, or the stakes so high.
I began to wonder why—with the stocks of cannabis companies soaring and politicians promoting legalization as a low-risk way to raise tax revenue and reduce crime—I had never heard the truth about marijuana, mental illness, and violence.”

Whenever I read the line “Cannabis users today are consuming a drug that is far more potent than ever before” I start looking more closely at the pitch, who’s pitching it, and what do they have to gain (sell a book maybe?). Weed is far stronger than ever, but people smoke far less of it to get the same effect. If the article doesn’t include that point up front, it isn’t worth the time to read it.
Don Bessee would hold up a bottle of Everclear or 151 in one of his prohibition rants, and could slyly say that “users” can legally buy 90 proof or stronger booze, and they will go to hell in a car wreck or because of liver disease because of it. That doesn’t mean they do, and they don’t. Likewise, I don’t know any pot smokers who sit down and consume an entire joint like we did in the 70’s. It’s more like one or two hits, or a small bit of weed rolled up with tobacco. Titrate to effect.
I am not getting on any pro or con weed band wagon, but the boring reality doesn’t sell many books or magazine articles. My guess is that any drug can cause harm and MJ is no different.

“ My guess is that any drug can cause harm and MJ is no different.”
Agreed. There is always a percentage of the population that will have adverse (opposite) reactions to any drug. I am one of those 1 in a 100,000 that cannot take statins….my legs get cramped up. A small percentage of those on anti-depressants go out stab granny 83 times within two weeks after getting on head meds. I only take objection at the selling books comment. The biggest long term studies are from the European nations (governments) and universities, hardly a provocateur peddling books. And all the research and studies are saying the same thing: the earlier a kid starts smoking pot, the greater the chance of harm to brain development in adolescence and the greater the risk of developing mental illness later in life…..down the road. It’s more that just the potency.
That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Others can stick to their stories that without the pot industry, Nevada City would roll up the sidewalks and die. Ghost town.
Ever try to look at the school shooters for common denominators? You will get shut down by Big Pharma, Video game makers, SJWs, and sadly, Snoops. The common denominator is teens on head meds who play massive amounts of violent video games who were not raised by their biological fathers. Every mass murdered in our history, save one, was not raised by their biological father. The FDA approved the head meds for adults, not minors, and spending massive amounts of time playing video games creates more grey matter in the brains of minors. It’s a hoax! :). Or blame the gun.

Well, the ‘Easter-worshippers’ don’t make for as heartfelt a newscast.
You have to dig around a bit for non-Trump ‘news’ in any case. You just know that the God Emperor is digging being the center of the world’s attention. Even the most inconsequential things are front page news. I figured it would be his 1987 taxes, but judging from the murmurs from the crazy people, it’s now mostly about impeachment for some unspecified crimes that you just know that he has committed.
I do hope that the Blue Mob states continue with trying to drop him from the ballot. It just shows how off the rails they are going. Honestly, it’s probably worth a Supreme Court case just to get them off that track, but I’m enjoying the show.

It seems to me that a major point in the article, and one that holds up well now that I think of it, is that the experiment in revolutionary Russia had most of it’s energy in the hinterlands.
You end up with a core group that is from the periphery of Imperial Russia, and quite a few that spent years outside of the country. They built a system based on exporting political belief systems to the rest of the world and by mining the core nation for treasure and lives. Traditional Russia was viewed with quite a lot of contempt. Another part of the revolutionary leadership, I don’t believe it was mentioned in the interview, was built atop an oversupply of out-of-power elite in the universities.
It’s worth considering how the Blue Mob rhymes in some ways. Communism isn’t the point so much as it is group dynamics.

But can you understand why many Americans are fed up with the biased reporting? Trump Tower meeting was covered extensively in the Mueller Report and nothing was suggested as to illegal anything. But Hillary through her lawyers paid for the “dossier” of lies that you never write about. Please start a “both sides” when allowing the AP to “report”.

I don’t believe it was mentioned in the interview, was built atop an oversupply of out-of-power elite in the universities.
Schopenhauer thesis?

More George Boardman BS.My comment.
You must be writing for your echo chamber. Americans are fed up with you yellow journalists with your bias. The left are the ones that boycott and try to force people off the air and out of the business. Yet no articles by you on that. All Nunes is doing is saying “pay me money for your slander”. He is not trying to banish the fools attacking him. So whine all you want about him but you are just talking to yourself. Nunes is a hero to many for exposing the lies of the left and their attempts at a coup.

The village idiot mumbles again.
Along with the other ruminants didn’t you burn your shoes when Kap got the red carpet treatment from Nike? And of course you refused to watch anything NFL. “But, that’s different because us neo cons believe in a free market and never boycott. The left are the ones that boycott”

scenes 738am – Good pick-up on a significant addition to corroborate the Rebane Doctrine thesis that there are basic differences between men and women – a person’s sex is an important determinant, and therefore an important discriminant. There’s more to be said here. Thank you Mr scenes.

Not to worry, though – “Social Security’s costs are expected to exceed its income in 2020 for the first time since 1982, forcing the program to dip into its nearly $3 trillion trust fund to cover benefits.”
THREE TRILLION!!!! Golly!
I’d love to see the run down on those assets.
Gold bullion?
Cash?
Shares in profitable companies?
Certainly real estate – Uncle Sam has nearly all of Nevada.
Oh, wait – it turns out the ‘fund’ is the tax payers’ wallets.
Just wait until we ‘tax the rich’ to pay for everything. It’ll be swell.

Scenes’ Gal is shining bright lately. She has found her groove.
“In a video clip flagged by The Washington Free Beacon’s Brent Scher, Ocasio-Cortez praised the VA healthcare system, saying: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
“The idea that this thing that isn’t broken, this thing that provides the highest quality care to our veterans somehow needs to be fixed, optimized, tinkered with until you don’t even recognize it anymore,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Here’s the thing, they are trying to fix it, but who are they trying to fix it for is the question we’ve got to ask. They’re trying to fix the VA for pharmaceutical companies, they’re trying to fix the VA for insurance corporations, and ultimately they’re trying to fix the VA for a for-profit healthcare industry that does not put people or veterans first.”
“We have a responsibility to protect it, because if it is any community that deserves Cadillac first-class healthcare in the United States of America it is our military service members,” Ocasio-Cortez added.“
