[Well boys and girls, let's all talk about the released Mueller report (here).  After explaining a year or two that collusion by itself is neither nefarious nor illegal, and conspiracy is surreptitious collusion with intent to harm, I smiled this morning as the NPR mavens awakened to that important distinction in their aspirations about AG Barr's talk and press conference this morning.  Your task, should you be so inclined, is to find in this entertaining aftermath even a smidgen of common ground for healing the land.  gjr]

Yes, Shepard Smith was today, as he often is, pretty rough on Barr and Trump, too. Smith’s reporting is one of the many ways that Fox News Channel is far more “fair and balanced” than any of their counterparts. To characterize this as FNC “bailing” on anything or anybody, however, is blatantly biased reporting and just plain wrong.

I think the Constitution placed the decision of who should be President into the people voting in November 2016. I voted for Gary Johnson and not a single elector was selected as a result of my vote. In California, a large majority of the people voted for Hillary Clinton, who got all of California’s electors, but across the country, Trump won more electors, and he became the duly elected President.
Paul, and people both crazier and more sane than Paul, have, since the Nov ’16 election, have campaigned against the result of the last election demanding the choice be rescinded. That hasn’t worked so far, has it, Paul?
Paul and friends appear not to be willing to stop the failed bid to invalidate the last election.

Boy, from all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, just imagine if Ginsberg kicked the bucket and we had another Kavanaugh hearing to show the world how stark raving mad the Leftinistas and their popinjays are. That would put the icing on the cake. In fact, the disconnected from reality unhinged ones always sound and look and act Iike their world is one big Kavanaugh hearing….. up to this very hour. And those screeching banshee voices. Oh my. “I believe her, I believe Shep”, lol.
Nadler said forget the report, they will find the collusion. I hope they never stop digging and digging and digging their own grave. How thoughtful of them. Saves us from getting our hands dirty or breaking a sweat.
Boy, Time magazine had to get their air brush folks on overtime to clean this mug up. Lest we forget. 🙂

Let me add my two-bits that anyone who equates liberal anchor Shep Smith’s editorialized news presentations with FN’s overall policy is just ignorant of the ideological terrain defining our country’s news media. And doing it on a site like RR, is really pissing into the wind.

So now that they have run out of rancid Russian dressing lets get back to the real world. ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID!!
Initial jobless claims keep grinding lower and lower.
The last time this few Americans sought the help of government after losing a job was in November 1969. Initial Jobless Claims tumbled another 5K from the prior week’s revised 197K to just 192K: the second consecutive sub-200K print in 50 years, and the lowest print since September 1969.

Now Paul, after being so excited about the Mueller investigation from the beginning… and now, having read the redacted copy… can you describe fully how let down you are from your high? Isn’t it like Christmas morning when you were seven and the toy you’d been whining about for months is there, and it isn’t any fun to play with after all?
Trump is still President; the election will be about whether he will still be President after the inauguration in Jan 2021.

“So, you’re just reporting facts or you’re contending he could be considered senile or he’s lying, based on his written answers to questions from a
    special persecutor? ”
Either way Gregory. Hard to tell which. Do you think it’s normal to forget details of such monumental events? Gosh and Golly, some executives even keep notes. Which is it, Trump is senile or is lying?

Why do “some executives keep notes” if it isn’t normal to forget details?
In fact, if I’m hazy on details of who, what, where, how and why and a committee of 19 lawyers who hated me enough to give lots of money to my opposition are asking me detailed questions under power of great authority in what was the busiest period of my life… I’d probably say I didn’t remember the details.
I often keep notes. But ask me something about what happened a year or two ago that I didn’t keep notes on, I might not remember. Especially if my answer, if wrong, might be construed to be perjury. In fact, especially if it could be a perjury trap in the first place.

Ok. The argument to impeach Trump. Trump, with his Article II powers, maybe obstructed a fake Russian collusion witch-hunt into an outsider who was duly elected President of the United States started by insiders from either the FBI or DOJ or Clinton or NSA or CIA or all of the above with absolutely no evidence even though Mueller, who hired nearly all Democrat insider operatives who wanted to get Trump, found absolutely no collusion (none) and could not even bring the obstruction charge in the first place. That’s just silly.

    Daily Quotes
Upright: “Speech is not violence — and violence is not speech. Equating the two is the hallmark of a tyrannical worldview: If I can treat your speech as violence, then I am justified in using violence to suppress your speech. And yet that obvious fallacy has become the rallying cry in defense of execrable Rep. Ilhan Omar.” —Ben Shapiro
Non sequitur: “There are charities that we’ve donated to that we’ve recorded and itemized, others that we’ve donated to that we have not. I’ll tell you, I’m doing everything I can right now, spending this time with you, not with our kiddos, not back home in El Paso, because I want to sacrifice everything to make sure that we meet this moment of truth with everything we’ve got.” —Beto O’Rourke on why he gave less than 1% to charity in 2017
Braying Jenny: “Our GND [Green New Deal] rollout was really difficult. And it was done in a way that … it was really easy to hijack the narrative around it. It was, like, too fast. … I actually think the resolution itself is very solid, but … there were, like, competing documents that were rolled out, some prematurely, that muddied the waters. … It was just frustrating. Just intensely frustrating.” —Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Braying Jackass: “I think ‘Abolish ICE’ is a call to action on several levels. One is the literal interpretation of all abolishing ICE, which I support… I don’t believe that an agency that systematically and repeatedly violates human rights … can be reformed.” —Ocasio-Cortez
Demo-gogues: “Most Americans don’t want the conservative agenda that we’re now seeing, the extreme agenda that we’re seeing in Washington. In fact, it is precisely for that reason that they have to interfere with democracy, with things like voter suppression or clinging on an Electoral College that overrules the will of the American people. It is precisely because the American people, by and large, don’t want what they’re selling. … They are relying on manipulations of our political structure in order to keep their agenda in play.” —Mayor Pete Buttigieg
Race bait: “I’m saddened that the beautiful cathedral in France was damaged. But this is a prime example of privilege. … I’m also saddened that Black churches in Louisiana were burned down. I’m sure they held significance as well. They were barely acknowledged.” —Cincinnati councilwoman Tamaya Dennard
And last… “Where’s the outrage for the pressure that we put on a 17-year-old to borrow $100,000 [for college]? So much of that pressure comes from their mom and dad. It’s well-intended, but it’s kind of tragic. And where’s the outrage for the guidance counselors who continually say the best path for the most people just happens to be the most expensive? And the politicians and the lobbyists who exacerbate the same myth and the employers who still insist on only interviewing people with a four-year degree? … College is expensive because we’ve freed up an unlimited pile of free money and told an entire generation they were doomed to fail if they didn’t borrow it, and that’s happened in every single tax bracket, not just the top one. … Seven million jobs are available now. Most of them don’t require a four-year-degree. They require training. And yet we’re obsessed, not really with education, you know. What we are obsessed with is credentialing. And so people are buying diplomas. And they’re buying their degrees. It’s a diploma dilemma, honestly. It’s expensive. It is getting worse. It’s not just the kids holding the note. It is us.” —Mike Rowe

Not to beat a dead horse into the ground, but…..
This is the best summary I have read obliterating item by item the breathless conspiracy theories we have been forced to endure for the last couple of years, plus. Well worth a skim of the facts.highlighted in yellow. The Conclusion after the itemized exhaustive list:
“THE NATURE OF OUR POLITICAL DISCOURSE is that nobody ever needs to admit error because it is easy to confine oneself to strictly partisan precincts where people are far more interested in hearing what advances their agenda or affirms their beliefs than they are hearing the truth. For that reason, I doubt that anyone who spent the last three years pushing utterly concocted conspiracy theories will own up to it, let alone confront any accountability or consequences for it.
“But certain facts will never go away no matter how much denial they embrace. The sweeping Mueller investigation ended with zero indictments of zero Americans for conspiring with Russia over the 2016 election. Both Donald Trump, Jr. and Jared Kushner – the key participants in the Trump Tower meeting – testified for hours and hours yet were never charged for perjury, lying or obstruction, even though Mueller proved how easily he would indict anyone who lied as part of the investigation. And this massive investigation simply did not establish any of the conspiracy theories that huge parts of the Democratic Party, the intelligence community and the U.S. media spent years encouraging the public to believe.
“Those responsible for this can refuse to acknowledge wrongdoing. They can even claim vindication if they want and will likely be cheered for doing so.
“But the contempt in which the media and political class is held by so much of the U.S. population – undoubtedly a leading factor that led to Trump’s election in the first place – will only continue to grow as a result, and deservedly so. People know they were scammed, that their politics was drowned for years by a hoax. And none of that will go away no matter how insulated media and political elites in Washington, northern Virginia, Brooklyn, and large West Coast cities keep themselves, and thus hear only in-group affirmation while blocking out all of that well-earned scorn.”
