   Toes 1046pm… the politics of personal destruction is a well worn bit of applied Machiavelli… In The Prince, Machiavelli wrote a thought that is generally misunderstood… he didn’t write, “The ends justifies the means”… he did write something like “when judging men, especially Princes, and there are no disinterested observers, one must take the results into account”…which means that when you have an honest person doing their jobs, like Ken Starr, Barr or Horowitz, you’ve got to trash them so the useful idiots can work their magic.
   I expect the next 12 months to be very interesting. Yes, Trump is still standing and he’s pissed.

    Bobby 511pm, no, Trump is not REQUIRED BY LAW to turn over his tax returns to Congress. Try again.
    Here’s a quote of the relevant section of
    26 U.S. Code § 6103. Confidentiality and disclosure of returns and return information
    (f) Disclosure to Committees of Congress
    (1) Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Finance, and Joint Committee on Taxation
    Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure.
    I doubt Trump would consent in writing (or verbally) to “such disclosure”.
    Do the Democrats really want to weaponize the IRS more than they already have?
