[Back from travel. I hope that some of our readers have been following the trail and travail of foreign correspondent and journalist Lara Logan, recently of '60 Minutes' fame. She is causing quite a consternation in the lamestream media who have targeted her for destruction since she has blown the whistle on the whole progressives' propaganda machine. Her interview on tonight's Mark Levin show was superb. gjr]

You’re going way back on that one. The truth is ugly. Do you really want to go there?
You are the one who pulled your project because you didn’t have the votes not even with a Republican majority in the Supes. Dave Tobiasson himself, a friend of mine and a Republican pulled his support. Don’t continue to embarrass yourself.

Is not the ownership of land by the federal government restricted to that which is needed for government facilities, maintain national security and waterways to promote interstate commerce? All other federal lands in acquired territories are supposed to revert to the states as they acquire statehood. The Constitution does not grant the federal government any land rights beyond that.
So how can the Bundy family’s assertion about state ownership of the land be “delusional”? The federal government has perpetuated an illegal land grab for over two centuries.

PaulE 1115am – Yep. That’s my general opinion. However, since California is such a f#%k3d up state, with legions of imbeciles in Sacramento, maybe we could make an exception and leave the feds as custodians of the state’s national forests. (In my studies of free-world governments, CA ranks near the bottom with regard to policies, planning, and practice. You have to go to Zimbabwe or Venezuela to do worse.)

You either support states rights in this matter or you don’t. You imply that States have to go through some kind of screening process to exercise their States Rights. What in the Constitution justifies that process?

(Iid get built later) Why not admit that all this “outrage” you have now about no housing or printing fake news and polls is simply you and no one else. Oh my. AOC said the reason hundreds of thousands of Central Americans are leaving their homes and making the trek Norte is because of a Climate Change caused drought in El Salvador. Hmmm. I reckon the hordes of Central Americans fleeing Climate Change are not familiar with CA (and our Southwest’s) long historical record of droughts.
Kinda like Goldilocks. Mexico is too hot, Canada is too cold, but the USA is just right.
Always a silver lining. We are beginning to make some progress with Scenes’ Gal.

I have placed my concerns about the lack of management of the BLM lands in Nevada County. Many acres are untended and fires waiting for a spark. And many surround Nevada City. Go up Gracie Road and check it out if you don’t believe they are terrible land managers. So I suggest you all tell the County CEWO about your concerns and tell the idiots that run the BLM as well.

I outed Forrest Tucker as a Forrest with national stature in a previous post. Perhaps an early American Forrest should be mentioned here… Thomas Forrest, Gentleman, a financier of the Virginia Company and married to one of the first two European women to arrive in the new world.
Or… perhaps Paul meant to write of “National Forests”, not “National Forrest’s”?

Don’t be pissin off the Pastors! She puts her feet in her mouth so often she gargles with antifungals –
The leader of an organization of black pastors directly addressed Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, insisting she “stop co-opting the civil rights movement” to advance her political agenda.
Rev. William Owens, president of the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP), said it was necessary for those who marched in America’s civil rights movement to defend it against the efforts of individuals, such as Ocasio-Cortez, who are co-opting their sacrifice.
“Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has fallen into the bad habit of comparing her political goals to the American civil rights movement,” said Owens in a press statement. “While it is obvious she understands the importance of that movement, she does not seem to realize that her statements trivialize the work of those who marched.”

The news keeps getting worse for the Trumpers-rebellion from the Conservatives.
“In her latest op-ed in the Washington Post, conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin trashes the Trump administration for failing to disclose the Presidents taxes.
President Trump insists that he can’t reveal his taxes because he’s being audited.
Rubin notes that Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin’s refusal to honor Congress’s wishes is the latest Trumpian attack on the rule of law.
“The announcement that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin would not provide six years of President Trump’s tax returns by the deadline given by the House Ways and Means Committee chairman was just the latest in a long series of egregious attacks on the rule of law,” Rubin writes.
“Perhaps it felt more egregious than some because the law at issue is so clear (the Treasury Department “shall” provide them) and the administration’s conduct is so indefensible.”
https://www.rawstory.com/2019/04/steven-mnuchin-gets-dismantled-conservative-fed-brazen-defiance-law/
And this:
Republicans confront Trump amid cascading controversies
“GOP senators face an inflection point, as they weigh how hard to try to contain the president.
In addition to confronting Trump on his purge at the Department of Homeland Security and his threat to deploy auto tariffs and keep existing levies, GOP senators hope they can persuade the president to avoid nominating Cuccinelli or Kris Kobach, another immigration hard-liner, to lead DHS. They also want Trump to drop plans to nominate Herman Cain to the Federal Reserve and are considering whether to challenge Stephen Moore’s nomination to the Fed.
“We’re trying to do everything we can to send the message before they send these people up here,” said a Republican senator who 20 seconds later lamented a separate problem: Trump’s “trade nightmare.”
It’s an unusual time in Trump’s Washington, with a Senate Republican majority that’s been at odds with the president for months now — and with GOP senators increasingly comfortable in trying to ward off what they see as Trump’s worst impulses. It’s an inflection point, with Senate Republicans weighing how hard to try to contain the president.”
