[Well, the Dems are looking to an approach to 'Medicare for All' designed by a couple of Univ of Mass economists that promises "You'd be able to keep your doctor with no premiums or copays, and overall spending would decline." Now where have we heard all that before? The many holes in this plan (here) also recommend its alternative use as a sieve. gjr]

Fox News again goes after Trump
“Fox News host Shepherd Smith on Monday utterly destroyed President Donald Trump’s entire immigration policy, saying his threats to cut aid to Central America, close the border, and build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico were no solution, and calling instead for comprehensive immigration reform.
“Critics say stopping the aid would make things worse back home in Central America and those countries, and create more movement north,” Smith said, reminding viewers that the vast majority of migrants were fleeing violence and poverty. “Closing the border doesn’t stop them.”
https://www.rawstory.com/2019/04/foxs-shep-smith-utterly-destroys-trumps-rationale-for-closing-the-border-and-cutting-central-american-aid/
“Even opponents admit it might be a scare tactic for the Mexicans,” he added. “But closing the border would stop legal movement and jobs and trade and tourism.”

Good letter in the Union,,,
After his election in 2006, Daniel Ortega polarized the electorate in Nicaragua, demonizing the press and demanding personal loyalty from government workers. All public appearances were turned into campaign rallies for his core base of supporters. Sound familiar? When Ortega rewrote the constitution, he gave himself a third consecutive term as president.
So, let’s not be complacent about Dictator Trump. The Framers devised a mechanism for addressing threats such as this. It’s called impeachment, and it’s time we used it before Donald Trump does any more harm to this republic.

Walt 4:47 – Trump is a dictator, don’t ‘cha know. So it follows that whatever he does is what a dictator does.
It’s the same as “Trump is a racist”. No use in asking what he has said or done to earn that title. He is a racist, so whatever he says is racist.
It’s called the ‘big lie’ technique. Just say he “colluded with the Russian govt” a few billion times and that makes it so. The fact that Mueller can’t find the evidence shows the whole thing was rigged.
Don’t worry – the Dems in the House will get to the bottom of this. They obviously have nothing else to do.
Paul has put down the hammer down and declared that Trump is finished. Now how many times has the KVMR news guy claimed that?
Meanwhile our racist dictator has just saved the nation (at least for now) from an out of control left wing judicial system.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/04/01/noam_chomsky_trump-russia_collusion_claims_a_joke.html
“NOAM CHOMSKY: I think it is so farcical that I barely even read the reports. It’s a joke.
If there was any interference by the Russians, it is essentially undetectable. There are careful analyses of what happened in the election, you can see how it changed, how the money poured in, other things. There is no sign of any Russian effect.
Furthermore, it is almost incredible from the beginning. What happened in the Senate and the House in 2016? Did the Russians interfere in the Senate elections? They went exactly the same ways.
The whole thing is a bad joke for all sorts of reasons. For one thing, there are countries that do interfere in American elections, openly and publicly and forcefully. One of them even sent its Prime Minister to address a joint session of Congress to attack the initiative being taken by the sitting president. Is that interference? That was Benjamin Netanyahu. That’s only part of it, there was large scale massive interference. Any other country did that, we’d have a huge scandal.
Furthermore, does the U.S. interfere in elections? In Russia for example, yes, and proudly. In 1996, Clinton took pride in the fact that large scale U.S. interference in the Russian election swung it to the favor of Boris Yeltsin. The U.S. goes far beyond interfering in elections, it overthrows governments. ”
Who knew that the KVMR news crew would be opposed to Noam Chomsky and in bed with the 17 intelligence agencies? We live in strange times.

“Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media is a 1988 book by Edward S. Herman (1925-2017) and Noam Chomsky, in which the authors propose that the mass communication media of the U.S. “are effective and powerful ideological institutions that carry out a system-supportive propaganda function, by reliance on market forces, internalized assumptions, and self-censorship, and without overt coercion”, by means of the propaganda model of communication.”

http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2019/04/02/gun-owners-federal-suit-hawaii-open-carry-law-amounts-an-outright-ban/
By Rick Daysog | April 1, 2019 at 5:35 PM HST – Updated April 1 at 8:43 PM
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Gun owners are taking aim at Hawaii’s open carry law, saying it’s unconstitutional.
A federal court lawsuit was filed last week on behalf of four owners who said they applied for but were denied open carry permits.
“Hawaii’s de facto ban on all manner of carry by ordinary citizens both implicates and violates the Second Amendment,” attorney Jim Hochberg wrote.
Under Hawaii law, a resident can carry a firearm in public only if he or she can prove that they have an urgent need for one or if they have an exceptional circumstance.
But the suit alleges that police departments have only issued one such permit since 2013.
“You can go back before that and you can see that one was not given for many, many years,” Hochberg said.
The suit comes after three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals last year ruled in favor of a Hilo man, who said he twice applied for an open carry permit but was denied
But that decision was set aside until the entire 9th Circuit hears the Hawaii Attorney General’s appeal.
Hawaii lawmakers believe that loosening the law is a bad idea.

Jessica Morse’s underdog campaign to oust Rep. Tom McClintock from Congress in 2018 was unsuccessful, but it helped land her a new job — in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration.
Newsom appointed Morse, of Pollock Pines, as Deputy Secretary of Forest Resources Management at the California Natural Resources Agency, the governor’s office announced last week. According to the agency’s organizational chart, Morse will report to Secretary for Natural Resources Wade Crowfoot. The post pays $165,000. That’s nearly as much as the $174,000 she would have made as a member of Congress.
Morse made climate change and its impacts on California’s forests a key focus of her congressional campaign in a district that encompasses Sierra Nevada communities from Lake Tahoe south to Yosemite and Kings Canyon.

U.S. Secret Service agents said they seized four cell phones, a laptop computer, an external hard drive and one thumb drive from Zhang. An examination of the thumb drive showed it contained malicious malware, agents said.
At about noon on Saturday, Zhang approached secret service agents at a checkpoint in a parking lot across from the club just north of Southern Boulevard along the Intracoastal Waterway. She said she wanted to use the pool at the club, agents wrote. She presented the agents with two Republic of China passports to confirm her identity, they said.
A manager at the club initially thought Zhang was related to a member who shared the same last name and cleared her to come in. But when Zhang got to the reception desk, she changed her story, agents said.
Instead of visiting the pool, Zhang said she had come to the club to attend a United Nations Chinese American Association event. Knowing there was no such event planned, the receptionist contacted federal agents.
Zhang insisted she had come to the club to attend a “United Nations Friendship Event” between China and the United States, agents said. She explained she arrived early to familiarize herself with the grounds and to snap some pictures, agents said.
Recognizing that her story had changed several times, agents took Zhang into custody after they said she became “verbally aggressive.”

Before Emery can complain,, Trump has put his healthcare plan on hold. Let’s just say I already called that one. Nancy and the gang would NEVER put Trump’s plan up for a vote. No matter how good for the people it is. The LIBS will never pass anything to puts Trump in a good light.
