So things have changed a little with the Swiss since I last checked.
So the blind lardass found a Snickers bar for once.
You can thank the formation of the EU for that change.
“In the early 1990s, however, the crime rate increased, and Swiss guns were frequently implicated in the European terrorist scene and in the wars that ravaged former Yugoslavia. These circumstances led to a climate of domestic and international pressure that persuaded the Swiss to abandon their laissez faire attitude toward firearms and start the cumbersome legislative process of enacting a federal weapons law
The first federal gun-control law (hereinafter the Weapons Act) became effective in Switzerland on January 1, 1999.[8] As originally enacted, the Weapons Act brought a gun-control regime that was similar to the gun-control laws of neighboring countries, albeit less restrictive. Between 2004 and 2010, several amendments made the Weapons Act more stringent.”
Yup,, Ozzhole is Mr. Disgraced… Love it… How does it feel to be bested by a ditch digger on a daily basis?

Sounds like you are on meth again. Why do you libs snort that crap? And then you rant and name-call. Do those drugs give you balls? No they just make you nutty. There are no white supremacists here but there are you and your fellow commies. All the government all the time. We are all freedom all the time.
NZ has strict gun laws and the use of them and the carry of them is so restricted it seems amazing there are any in the country. But the fake news spewed by you tries to make it appear they are lax laws. Liars don’t make it to heaven.

Well, I wasn’t that far off.
Gun ownership in the country has deep historic roots and it is tied to mandatory military service for Swiss men between the ages of 18 and 34. Traditionally, soldiers were allowed to keep their weapons at home in order to defend against conquering armies. These fears came close to being realized during the Franco-Prussian War on 1871; as well as World War I, when the Swiss border was threatened; and World War II, when the country feared a Nazi invasion.

NC Fascist Detector 1127am – You have every right to be an ignoramous, but you have no right to be disrespectful by calling RR the “Nevada County home of White Supremacy”, which this blog is definitely not. But you have every right in these pages to make such an assertion AND then support with what argument you claim to have. Absent that, your commenting privileges here are history.
And Mr fish, again I had to go find your ‘end italics’ omission and correct. That’s not being nice to anyone – pay attention or give up italics.

ok, I’ve caught up with the Great Ozz’s protestations. Let’s go to the fount:
It is sad to note that UC Berkeley is the place where Pelline learned to twist the language into such a weapon.
First… I didn’t use the word “deduces” or “scientific” in my note about Pelline, NZ and Ozz… and I wouldn’t, but it is a matter of probabilities. Otherwise, it’s purely an example of a sockpuppet, Ozz, waxing eloquently about people with guns shooting up the NZ forest, and then finding in the first place I looked (his blog!) evidence that Pelline actually did spend time camping in the woods of NZ. Imagine that.
How many folks in Nevada City have spent time in the woods in NZ? How many of them bear grudges against people they decide are “right wing” enough to create a sock puppet to go in swinging?
FYI the creepy “Bartlett’s book of quotes” about you, your favorite subject, is your blog. I used a two word literal quote search on your site and spent about three minutes reading the returns of my favorite search engine to find that one. The two words were “New Zealand”. Deviously clever.

Nationism (is that a dirty word?) in our current events started over 8 years ago in Japan under Shinzō Abe. He ran on a position of revitalizing Japan and was the first to start pushing back against China and it’s influence in Japanese afffairs and economy. Later we had Brexit as more Brits wanted more control over their affairs. Since then, we have had Make America Great Again and now in Italy, and several nations. Growing trendline.
Even member states of the EU who do not want to leave the EU are pushing back against being told what to do from Brussels. Up to 70% of the member states constitutions are now usurped by dictates from the EU. People want to maintain the culture and heritage of their nation states. Wave their flag and all that stuff. The upcoming EU elections in Sept. may reveal this. A growing movement to more of a Westphalian system, if not 100% all in. More of a ‘Be true to your school’ sentiment in reality, not theory.
Just look at the firestorm that Ilhham Omar caused with her “dual loyalties” remark. Does that not hit the core of nationalism? If Gandhi was anything, he was a Indian nationalist first and foremost.
Politics is downstream of culture.
Of course,, the Leftinistas, with their dimished capacity for thought, equate nationalism with racism, isolation, and stomping on minority rights. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Left are the ones that seem themselves first and foremost as hyphenated Americans, not as Americans. Honduran-American, African-American, Irish-American, Pacific Islander-Americans, etc. Dual loyalties?
Of course, if one puts a race or skin color in front of the word Nationalist, then that. means segregation. Good bye melting pot, hello tossed salad. Precisely because of Identity Politics and not viewing oneself as an American first,, colleges are racing to build segregated (black) dorms, segregated safe places, segerated dining areas, and even segregated study areas in college libraries! Talk about racism. Talk about discrimination based on ethnicity. No wonder the Blue Mob cries out. “Cultural Appropriation!” Cultural appropriation is the antithesis of assimilation.
When minority rights are not protected in a Nationalist State, you get a Communist China and what is currently developing in Marxist South Africa…..and what happened in Leninist Marxist Dictatorship Somalia before their civil war. Ironoically, that Leninist Marxist form of government was the exact system that Ilham Omar’s family thrived under working for the government in Somila before the civil war forced them to flee, lol.
Again, Ghandi was a devote Nationalist. He made sure minority rights were protected, even though he was a racist. Not so with Red China or the Leftinistas.
“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51 percent of the people may take away the rights of the other 49.”—Thomas Jefferson

I believe the pinkos and haters here fear Judgement Day. They seemed to have born with an innate fear of Judgement Day. I could be wrong. Ocasio-Crazy dealt with the news with the sober maturity you might expect from a lunatic who believes the world will end in 12 years — you know, unless we slaughter all the cows to stop them from farting.

““When Sueidan was informed that he would not be able to enter Fort Bragg, he insisted that he had a foreign military identification and that he needed to make entry to the installation to “take a tour of the Special Operations facility to identify if it was worth his time,’” the investigator wrote in the affidavit.
The investigator said Sueidan became agitated and insisted that all he wanted to do was tour the special operations facility.
Officers at the scene detained him for his safety and the safety of others, the investigator said.
Sueidan initially turned around and put his hands behind his back, but resisted being detained when the first handcuff was in place and start swinging his right arm away, the investigator said.
The investigator said Sueidan also made comments several times about needing to know the time and said “at (noon), we will be happy, at (noon) the weather will change,” as he looked around in different directions.”

Connie Pennington has been forced to pay dues to the Communication Workers of America Local 4502 as part of her job with the city of Columbus, but attempted to sever ties after the Supreme Court declared mandatory dues payments unconstitutional in the 2018 Janus v. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees ruling. The union has maintained that workers should not be allowed to leave the union until its contract with the city expires in 2020. The lawsuit filed by Pennington seeks to overturn that policy and allow the union’s 1,400 government workers to exercise their rights immediately, rather than waiting for the 30-day withdrawal window specified in the city’s union contract.

Lightening it up : College admission scandal
“But before I go on about that [college story], one of the things I found intriguing about the reaction to it on Twitter was how so many people felt the need to divulge their own college admissions narrative, as if to signal they weren’t one of them. My favorite tweet actually came from someone owning — if only in jest — his privileged status:
https://mobile.twitter.com/bendreyfuss/status/1105488904579309568?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1105488904579309568&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nationalreview.com%2Fg-file%2Fshibboleth-is-a-fun-word%2F
“Still, I will join the ranks of the outraged by disclosing my own bona fides. I went to college the old-fashioned way: by applying to an all-women’s school right as it went co-ed. As I often like to say, my freshman year Goucher had 30-odd men and more than a thousand women — and I do mean 30 odd men.”
Before being an affirmative-action success story, I was rejected from every other college I applied to. My high school record was, at best, a Rorschach test. On the one hand, I had the worst GPA of any student in my class who wasn’t kicked out. On the other hand, when I was interested in a subject, I did very well, winning various awards for papers and whatnot. My SATs were fine (thanks mostly to the verbal section), but most admissions officials looked at the Rorschach blots on my transcript and saw a train wreck rather than a diamond in the rough.”……
“The chip on my shoulder shrunk and finally vanished over the years because it’s a stupid thing to get hung up on (though I do enjoy speaking at all the colleges that rejected me, never mind the ones I never dreamed of applying to in the first place).
Having worked in the worlds of think tankery and eggheady journalism for three decades, I’ve learned to take people as I find them. Ramesh Ponnuru is possibly the smartest person close to my age I’ve ever met, and he went to Princeton — where he was a star student. Arthur Brooks, the outgoing president of AEI, is another of the smartest people I’ve ever known. He got his college degree by mail from Thomas Edison State College. Conversely, I’ve met more than my share of buffoons and cranks with impressive degrees (Jerome Corsi has a PhD from Harvard!). They may not have been true morons, but they couldn’t hold a candle to some college drop-outs I’ve known — without burning their fingers.” ——Jonah Goldberg on vacation…

The congressional dems really are meaningless –
The nonbinding House resolution calls for the public release of any report Mueller provides to Barr, with an exception for classified material. The resolution also calls for the full report to be released to Congress.
“We know and you know, as you said earlier, that there’s not going to be collusion here. This is where it is going to be … very hard for the Democrats. All this was. Don’t be fooled by this. This was simply a stunt because they thought they could divide Republicans to make us look bad as not being transparent,” Collins said Sunday. “I have no problem being transparent with what we see is coming forward, and it’s within the regulation to say that this was nothing more than a political stunt.”
He called the resolution an act of nothingness.
“This is the sad part we’re at right now, Maria,” he told Bartiromo. “They have no agenda, they have nothing that they can actually put on the floor, so they wasted an entire week of the American taxpayers’ dollar to actually put a report on the floor that said nothing, basically except the same thing the regulations say that Mr. Barr needs to do so.”

No kids, tomorrow doesn’t belong to you. And the world is not headed for destruction due to CO2 emissions.

That’s your opinion GREGORY and not much else. The vast consensus of scientists and researchers believe Global warming and climate change are a real threat to future generations.

Then why have they been so spectacularly and consistently wrong on everything, even with all the cheating since the early 70’s @758?

So here is what you get when you have a peace corp instructor in china write articles in the west on military issues. Pretending that a major hot war will not have casualties, prepping the proletariat to go full snowflake when the first plane gets shot down. Its going to be nasty if it happens. –
The Patton may reliably soldier on and contribute its heavy firepower to the battlefield—but in an era where minimizing casualties and denying propaganda victories to the other side is important, its dated armor protection will remain a liability.
Sébastien Roblin holds a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University and served as a university instructor for the Peace Corps in China. He has also worked in education, editing, and refugee resettlement in France and the United States. He currently writes on security and military history for War Is Boring.

Thank you, Punch, for your heartfelt recitation of the argumentum ad populum du jour. There is certainly a large majority of scientists whose careers depend upon government funding who say they believe the earth is careening towards an apocalypse. They NEED and will accept more funding to study the matter.
There are scientists who have evidence that points to the direction I’ve related. I’ve read their papers and I accept them as more realistic than the IPCC-blessed science that has failed badly to predict temps.

Aha! The first shot across the bow. This is how it works. (Past performance is not guarantee of future results). The NYT picks who they want to win and build them up. Then, needing a horserace, they will switch to covering another candidate to make it seem like it’s neck and neck. Then they drop the challenger faster than a fat kid at a cake buffet and go back to their chosen one. So, who will the NYT pick to win?
Hint: It might be someone with a vagina. Time will tell.
“Why do you think he’s getting so much attention? Certainly none of the announced women candidates are creating this much stir. Elizabeth Warren has been shoving out policy positions. Kamala Harris has been campaigning like crazy. Warren, Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand and Amy Klobuchar are all acting senators. O’Rourke is a former member of the House of Representatives who lost a race to Ted Cruz, one of the least appealing human beings on the face of the earth.
“#But there’s just something about Beto that makes him stand apart. Hate to think it’s being a cute white guy who can skateboard.”…..
Democrats are the party of resentment (a hard-earned status considering how much resentment there is on the GOP side). Black Democrats resent whites; female Democrats resent men. Democrats who aren’t making it resent people who are; Democrats who have made it look down on people who haven’t.
This works well for the party when the target is white male Republicans. But in the ungodly scramble that will be the Democratic nominating process, these resentments seem destined to be turned inward, in the form of Democrat-on-Democrat political violence.
Collins’ mocking of O’Rourke is a preview of coming attractions, and probably a tame one.

Good going Paul. Still believe faked AGW “research”?
Even the ones who dreamed up AGW are admitting the scam.
Just a little looking would tell you that.
AGW is nothing more than political science. That’s not “opinion”.
I would give you plenty of links,, but why waste my time on things you would never read?

Obviously there’s the notion of veering left in the primaries and then right in the general. Given how crazy the Blue Mob is, the campaign leading up to the primaries should be sweet.
They’ll probably tear up Creepy Uncle Joe, but his gravitas is needed.
