    CHICAGO (WLS) — A Cook County grand jury has returned a 16-count indictment against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett, according to court records.
    The Cook county State’s Attorney’s Office confirmed the indictment, which they said was returned by a grand jury on Thursday.
    Smollett was originally charged with one felony count of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on Feb. 20.
    There have been dozens of twists and turns since “Empire” start Jussie Smollett reported being attacked. Here are some key moments from the start of this story.
    Now the grand jury has returned 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report.
    The TV actor claimed he was the victim of a vicious hate crime in the Streeterville neighborhood on Jan. 29. He said two men physically attacked him while yelling racist and homophobic slurs, threw a chemical liquid on him and looped a rope around his neck.
    The grand jury returned two separate sets of charges. The first set are related to what Smollett told officers about the alleged attack, including that the attackers called him racial and homophobic slurs, struck him with their hands, put a noose around his neck, and poured some sort of chemical substance on him.
    The second set of charges are related to the second interview Smollett had with police about the alleged attack later that day.

    House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has hired a campaign consultant who also lobbies on behalf of the head of a Russia propaganda outlet, even as he launches an extensive investigation into President Trump’s alleged Russia ties, according to a report.
    The Daily Beast on Thursday reported that Nadler’s campaign consultant is Ezra Friedlander, a lobbyist and political consultant who runs outreach to the Orthodox Jewish community for Nadler’s campaign.
    However, he is also a public-relations executive whose newest client is the wife of Kirill Vyshinsky, the head of Russian state news media outlet RIA Novosti’s Ukrainian arm.
    That means Nadler has his own questionable ties to Russians, as well as that his campaign is paying a consultant that is doing lobbying work for a Russian propagandist.
    The propagandist, Vyshinsky, is actually now in a Ukrainian jail, where he faces treason charges after Ukrainian security forces raided RIA Novosti’s offices in Kiev, according to the Daily Beast.
    Ukrainian authorities have accused Vyshinsky of illegally fomenting support for the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014 — which the U.S. strenuously opposed.

    “Excellent observations. We who have been involved in politics have experienced the bias for many years. The reporters are all cut from the same liberal teachings cloth so they report the way they were taught. Republicans bad, democrats good. White people bad, all others good. Instead of reporting the facts they pepper the articles with opinions. And now we see their approval ratings at all time lows. About the same as Congress. Now that Pelosi is in charge we see one day and move on news when her caucus screws up. A R would get hammered for weeks.     In the “two wrongs make a right” category: Trump, in laying out his excuses for not turning over requested documents to congressional committees said that “President Obama, from what they tell me, was under a similar kind of a thing — didn’t give one letter. They didn’t do anything. They didn’t give one letter of the request. Many requests were made; they didn’t give a letter.”
    Just who is the “they” who told trump Obama didn’t comply with document requests? They should be fired because IT’S A LIE. Or trump just made it all up as usual because he is a serial liar.
    The Obama administration did , IN FACT, provide mountains of documents to Republican instigated investigations into such things as Benghazi (hundreds of thousands), Solyndra (300,000), alleged bias at the IRS (1.3 million), and Fast and Furious (more than 10,000).

    I am one for one on predictions. Figured Manafort would get 3-5. I based this on his age, health, and crime. All tax related stuff from 2010-2014. He earned every penny legally and did not rip off pension funds or investors. The banks he got money from will not or have not lost a penny. No prior criminal record, squeaky clean. Owes 6 million he hid to avoid the taxman.
    So, I figure Smollett will get 0-6 months. There is one caveat. I am the only one who thinks Jusse did not do his crimes for more money. He was making 70k an episode and had resigned for 100k an episode. The show was doing ok and he had much prestige in the black and gay community. No, he did it for more fame, more attention, more stardom..an illusive thang.
    He will plead it down to no time (maybe a couple of weekends) and some restitution IF he publicly reads a statement that he hatched the plot, planned the caper , paid for it, and takes full responsibility and apologies for lying to the police and public. His ego, his Pride, his insatiable need for attention may prevent him from biting the bullet and taking the humiliation…and thus redemption. 0-6 months, depends if he can level his pride.

    Boy, the Dems were singing the blues and bitchin’ up a storm when they got a document dump of 100s of thousands of docs they requested before the Kavanaugh hearings, lol. And they wanted more. First it was they have too much to go through with too little time and then they said it wasn’t enough. No pleasing some people.
    I see they subpoenaed Trump’s pollster, ROFLMAO. And Sessions. Oh, the message is clear. Anyone who dared work for or volunteered for Trump or had any dealings with Trump in any capacity will have their lives torn upside down, ripped a new one, and publicly disgraced. Even CEOs of banks and gals who run companies that did business with the Trump Empire.
    They are doing th old fishing for a perjury trap. The process is the punishment. Interesting to note that George the Greek never even met Trump and the FBI did not bother to interview him until 2017, after the election. And Manafort volunteered to run Trump’s campaign for free to get name recognition. Now the Blue Mob is demanding Manafort rot in prison for the rest of his live for tax evasion in 2010-2014, ROFLMO. One fakenews expert on TV said Manafort worked in our government and was a Putin spy. Manafort never worked in the Gov’t! Oh my.
    Good thing Pat Cadelll died or else they would slam him for giving Trump some free advice on the phone.
    Bottomline: That Meuller must not be very good or thorough. Just look at ALL the stuff he missed. Sloppy work.
    The process is the punishmment….and the punishment is the process. Put them all in the Black Hole of Calcutta and let them rot in hell. How dare they have anything to do with Trump! Traitors!

    Honestly you are a true moron. Gregory points out the FBI! How about the IRS and the EPA and a myriad of other agencies, all in the Executive branch that investigate. Heck even the BLM and Forest Service have investigators. So once again OOZE/Swallows/Pelline you have made a ass of yourself. And for some reason, you mention grade levels as if trying to demean me or others. Doesn’t work. But your fourth-grade diploma is showing here.
    Oh and please cite the provisions in the US Constitution giving the Legislature “oversight” responsibilities. Waiting to see if you have any brains at all.
