[I think it's profitable to continue the discussion about how the progressive Left is certain about President Trump's unsuitability for office in light of his domestic and foreign policy record, and the record of investigations that to no avail have sought to nail him. And in light and in spite of this record, how our Left has become more confident that all their evidence-free allegations and more are true beyond the need for any further substantiation. gjr]

“The bill, which passed its first reading in the state House by a slim margin despite it being destined for failure moments before the vote, would require all “able-bodied” Medicaid recipients who are not disabled or are caretakers for children under six years old to work at least 20 hours a week to receive benefits, the Casper Star Tribune reported.”

She has no district office and no local phone number, unlike the state’s three other freshman members.
And it’s unclear whether the 29-year-old lawmaker, who represents the Bronx and Queens, actually still lives in the Parkchester neighborhood that has been so closely tied to her rise — even though she won her upset victory over fellow Democrat Rep. Joe Crowley with accusations that his home in Virginia made him too Washington-focused to serve his district.

Another party parrot narrative goes up in flames –
The reason many Americans are seeing a smaller refund this year is that they are paying less in taxes. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act significantly cut tax rates for middle class families, 80 percent of whom had a lower tax burden in 2018 than they did before the president’s tax cuts took effect.
The law also simplified the tax code and made changes to withholding rules that together served to reduce overpayment to the government by taxpayers, which is the only reason the IRS gives tax refunds.
Would you rather receive a bigger refund, or just keep more of your money in the first place?
Think about it this way: these reports about smaller refunds are every bit as disingenuous as headlines about Americans getting the biggest tax refunds of their lives would be in the wake of a massive tax increase. Higher tax burdens mean bigger refunds. Lower tax burdens mean smaller refunds, because the government got less of your money during the tax year.
Not only do smaller refund checks indicate that people have had access to more of their money throughout the year, they are also a sign that we’ve created a more efficient income tax system. In a perfectly efficient system, no one would get any refund, because they would have paid the exact amount that they owe.

Of course the school feels it’s blameless.
“While we have no legal ability to control or sanction what employees do during their free time, it should be absolutely clear that any expression of approval and support for violence stands in complete and total opposition to the values, commitments, and policies of this university,” Mogulof added.

Those historically low minority unemployment numbers seem to be having an impact –
Now, here’s the brutal truth for Democrats: If Hispanic Americans are in fact showing surging approval of Trump, he could be on his way to matching or exceeding the 40 percent won by George W. Bush in his 2004. If Trump does 12 percentage points better than his 2016 numbers with the growing Hispanic vote, it pretty much takes Florida, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina off the table for Democrats, who would need to sweep Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to reach the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the White House. At the same time, that 12-point shift would give Trump a clear shot at winning Colorado and Nevada, states where Hispanic voters make up well over 10 percent of the electorate and where Clinton won by 5 percentage points or less in 2016.

Saudi Arabia has appointed Princess Reema bint Bandar as its diplomatic representative to the US – the first female ambassador in the history of the kingdom.
In a series of royal decrees issued by Saudi Arabia late on Saturday, Riyadh named its current envoy to Washington, Prince Khalid bin Salman, as deputy minister of defence with the ranking of minister, in addition to allocating a bonus of a month’s salary to soldiers fighting to the south at the Saudi border with Yemen.
Princess Reema is familiar with US politics and society, having studied at US universities and lived in Washington when her father, Prince Bandar, was ambassador.

So true, so very true. They know nothing and worse, are taught nothing.
Lenin’s words, “Give me just one generation of youth, and I’ll transform the whole world.”, have never sounded truer as they ring across the land. And we have given him two generations, and are now beginning to reap the fundamentally transforming whirlwind.
So, Cuban and Venezuela are socialist countries. The Scandanavian countries are not. The GND a is socialist manifesto and Bernie is a communist. Think that wraps it up.

‘Socialism’ is just a word after all and lacks precision. I think what we really need is a GINI coefficient for .gov control. This would even include absolute dictatorships since that tends to be the end game for many ‘socialist’ experiments.
The amount of economic activity directly managed by government is a tempting source for data, but people tend to just use taxes/GDP as an approximation. This leaves out regulatory control as part of the equation.
I admit that I admire socialism/communism as an idea. The world could always stand to invent new ways to acquire power, and they are good ones in that they grasp onto the kind of emotional fervor that an expansionist religion does. The Corporation, military hierarchies, royalty, religion, communism, the need to build larger systems to break free from the wheel of the small tribe always produce a small elite as a result. OTOH without it, nothing gets done. In the long run, the best you can hope for is a moral feudalism.

TIFFANY CROSS: . . [Kamala Harris] needs to find a strong, black man advocate who can be in her corner at some point in the campaign — at any space in her campaign, I would say, that’s my key advice: find a prominent blue-collar, self-made, black man to be in your corner.”
MSNBC analyst Jason Johnson took it a step further, disqualifying Harris’s white husband as a potential advocate. “Let’s just be candid. When you’re saying she needs to have an advocate out there, it’s not going to be her [white] husband. She needs to surround herself with African-American men.”
Note: this was also an exercise in identity politics at its most explicit. Consider this from Cross: “the African-American community expects more from people who look like us.”

Been digging into the Green New Deal outline. Not really much to do with AOC or the Mean Green Machine as such, but the mechanics and implementation of it all. The Select Commttee as an example.
1) the GND is just a nice long name for ‘reparations.’
2). The GND is a misnomer. The more accurate name is the RND. Red New Deal.
3). As counterintuitive as it may appear at first glance and despite milllons upon of millions of words written by the best and brightest, I am warming to the idea that Trump won the election because of his tweets, not despite of them. No Twitter, no POTUS Trump.

The State of Educaton
The results were truly shameful. Only one state, Vermont, saw the majority of its participants pass — and even then, 47% failed. Had 70% or higher been deemed the passing threshold, not one state would have had a majority of individuals pass. The worst-performing state was Louisiana, with 73% who failed. That percentage climbed to 82% if you include those correctly answering as few as 12 of the 20 questions.
Simply put, the facts of history have been rewritten, the roles of history have been recast, and the value of exceptionalism has been substituted with warmed-up mediocrity as the new normal to equalize the masses. Call it indoctrination, propaganda, or some other moniker attempting to capture the breadth, width, and reach of our current chaotic conundrum, but understand one thing: The great nation of America is being destroyed by Americans, not some foreign enemy. Those rewriting history and recasting the roles, good and bad, to fit today’s culture and political agendas are truly deconstructing our nation, most knowing they must create an ignorance of just how America became great through its unique constitutional republic and individualism that breeds self-reliance and exceptionalism, ingredients that do not coexist with socialism, communism, or all the other -isms that create a permanent underclass dependent upon big government.

Hot air: “You know what? I don’t care anymore. I don’t care anymore, because again, I’m at least trying, and they’re not. So the power is in the person who’s trying, regardless of the success. If you’re trying, you’ve got all the power. You’re driving the agenda.” —Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez telling critics of the Green New Deal “I’m the boss”
Braying Jenny: “There’s no question we have to be practical. But being practical also recognizes that climate change is an existential threat to us as human beings. … Of course we can afford it. … It’s not about a cost. It’s about an investment.” —Kamala Harris
Non Compos Mentis: “It’s likely Trump will be able to build some of his wall — with America footing the bill. The next president should demolish whatever Trump manages to erect.” —The Week’s Peter Weber
Alpha Jackass: “We have a problem in America called spatial geographic inequality, which means that the most affluent and educated people are clustered in just a few cities. … The blue parts of America are having a big prosperity party while the big sea of red feels like their invitation got lost in the mail — and they still use the mail. … We have orchestras and theaters districts and world-class shopping. We have Chef Wolfgang Puck. They have Chef Boyardee. … The fly-over states have become the passed-over states. That’s why red-state voters are so pissed off. They don’t hate us. They want to be us.” —Bill Maher
Non sequitur: “This is the fall of an icon and I don’t think people understand how important [Jussie Smollett] has been in the black community. … The fact that he has been celebrated and you see homophobia in the black community through his eyes on the show, this is a Jackie Robinson against homophobia.” —Van Jones
Confirmation bias: “The circumstances and the way he told the story and what he said happened to him sort of fit in with a — not a narrative, but a reality for a lot of people in this country since President Trump was inaugurated.” —Washington Post opinion writer Jonathan Capehart
And last… “Smollett staged a hate crime yet still has a job. Northam wore blackface and advocated infanticide yet still has a job. So how will the lefties deal with this when one of their own arrests another?
Univision anchor Jorge Ramos and members of his team have been detained in Caracas, Venezuela after disputed President Nicolas Maduro “didn’t like the questions” they were asking during an interview, the network tweeted Monday night.

One of their own? Oh contrarie, my fine fellow. Jorge is not Hispanic, despite being lauded as the award winning Hispanic journalist, the Walter Cronkite of Latin America. Both his parents are Spaniards. Yes, he born and raised in Mexico City, had Mexican citizenship before becoming a US citizen. Nonetheless, he is not one of “their own.”
Considering the former slave trade had twice the number of slaves going to South America, the Caribbean, and Latin America than that of the US slave trade and considering it was the Spaniards that raped Maduro’s foremothers….and concerning reparations is back in the news cycle, me thinks Ramos is the face of the oppressor and Maduro is just extracting some long overdue justice for the sins of Jorge’s forefathers. It’s time Ramos pays. His hour has arrived. 🙂
I believe I am getting the hang of this Identity Politics thang.

Grudge Match 2016 continues. Batttle of the Losers.
This has all the markings of the Hillary smear campaign. What a nasty woman.
“I’m not shocked that while thousands of volunteers braved the heat and cold to knock on doors until their fingers bled in a desperate effort to stop Donald Trump, his Royal Majesty King Bernie Sanders would only deign to leave his plush D.C. office or his brand new second home on the lake if he was flown around on a cushy private jet like a billionaire master of the universe,” said Zac Petkanas, who was the director of rapid response for the Clinton campaign.
In 2016, after Sanders endorsed Clinton and agreed to campaign on her behalf, the Sanders campaign’s preferred mode of travel quickly emerged as a point of tension, according to six former Clinton campaign staffers and another source familiar with the travel.”
To which the grurmpy old commie’s team replied:
“Michael Briggs, Sanders’ 2016 campaign spokesman who often traveled with Sanders on the private flights, said Clinton and her staff were “total ingrates” in light of the efforts the Vermont senator put in to try to help elect her in the general election.
“You can see why she’s one of the most disliked politicians in America. She’s not nice. Her people are not nice,” he said. “[Sanders] busted his tail to fly all over the country to talk about why it made sense to elect Hillary Clinton and the thanks that [we] get is this kind of petty stupid sniping a couple years after the fact.”
“It doesn’t make me feel good to feel this way but they’re some of the biggest assholes in American politics,” he added.

The masters of the universe don’t deserve the subsidies. End H1B.
The test data is important because business groups have displaced hundreds of thousands of American college graduates while hiring more than one million foreign graduates via the H-1B and other visa worker programs intended for high-skilled temporary foreign workers.
Business advocates say the migrants are highly skilled. But the test shows that foreign graduates of foreign colleges score just 34 out of 100, while Americans score 67 on the 100 point scale. Foreign graduates of American colleges score at 56, or 16 percent lower than the American score.
“Foreign-educated immigrants with a college or advanced degree perform so poorly that they score at the level of natives who have only a high school diploma,” says the report, which analyzed results from the Program for International Assessment of Adult Competencies test.
