[Our leftwing commenters keep reporting that all of our border problems are nothing but rightwing propaganda, so why have the national news been reporting illegal entry numbers surging, caravans at the border trying to get in, and more caravans on the way from central America? And how come Dems keep saying that walls don't work, and the border security authorities keep testifying and presenting data that they do? gjr]

Another lefty narrative fails –
To determine this, the professors took advantage of different timing of the implementation of voter ID laws in different states to construct a “difference-in-differences” analysis, looking at how voters behave in states that do and do not have strict voter ID laws, before and after those laws were implemented. They used data from the progressive data service Catalist, “a U.S. company that provides data and data-related services to progressive organizations and has a long history of collaborating with academics.”
The data from Catalist contained both demographic information—age, sex, race, and party affiliation—as well as information on whether or not a surveyed person was actually registered. This means that the paper’s authors could test whether or not voter ID not only stopped registered voters from voting, but discouraged unregistered voters from registering.
“Strict ID laws have no significant negative effect on registration or turnout, overall or for any subgroup defined by age, gender, race, or party affiliation,” the paper’s authors found.

I have posted some of his quotes on Daily Quotes and even some of his writings (links) from the Patriot Post on occassion. Just because folks like Erickson are (were) Nevertrumper conservatives, they still offer good insights on issues and worth reading, depending on their familiarity/knowledge of certain issues and the writers’ own strengths, expertise, and weaknesses.
Like several Nevertrump conservatives, they have come around to Trump because of Trump’s actions, not because of his mannerisms or what he puts out there on his Twitter machine. Simetimes quickly, sometimesslowly. Levin, Ben Shapiro, Beck, and others come to mind. Actions (results) speak louder than words.
“At least we can all now be sure that reasonableness for much of the left is tied to opposing Donald Trump and anyone who might vote for him is unfit for consideration by the left. That, of course, says way more about the left than about anyone who would support the President.
The moral of the story here is to do what you think is right and not worry about what people on the internet think.”.— Eric Erickson, today’s blog.

They were 8 points off one obscure mixed poll that wasn’t any given race… the generic congressional poll that they also had as Congressional… both House and Senate. But regardless, something drew them off base in the last few days.
The sampling per House district was about four. Meaning four people asked in total per district.
They are not “a right wing vanity poll”. Period.

Rasmussen only polls likely voters. Likely voters are a small subset of registered voters. They are typically older, white, male Republicans. Of course their polling is skewed. Admit it or admit you are too stupid to understand. As an ex government employee currently sucking on the Federal teat, you should know this.

No, Rassie polls all registered voters but applies a fudge factor to the results like everyone does. Age, gender, education, all go into the mix to correct the total to look more like the population that is known to vote.
There were something like 200 million voters registered before the November 2016 election, and maybe 130 million presidential votes were cast. That 70 million sat on their hands isn’t the fault of private pollsters, and the likely voters aren’t a small subset… they’re most registered voters. Maybe 2/3rds.
Older white college eddicated guys with a libertarian or conservative bug up their yin/yang are more likely to vote than a heavily tatted kid just out of high school. That’s just the way it is.

Polls? At this time in the 2016 election cycle, Jeb Bush was the R frontrunner. He ended up in the single digits. Right now, Biden is the D front runner. He never broke 2% in his last two attempts. Polls are meaningless, except to show trend lines. It’s like following the stock market on a daily basis. Up today, down the next, up the next, down the next two…show me 90 day moving averages for short term peek-a-boos.
Interesting to note that Trump never hired a pollster until seven months after he declared his candidacy. He just read them in the papers. Why waste the money when you have your finger on the pulse of America. Some call that being a populist, lol.
Speaking of Biden and the upcoming elections, has anybody figured out how much of Bernie’s surprise showing in 2016 was due to anti-Hillary votes and how much was due to Bernie’s policies?
If Bernie does jump in the race, that will help Warren from being labeled the oldest candidate on the Left.
Of all the R’s and D’s who condemned Omar’s latest of her many anti-Semitic statements (including Nancy Pelosi), none of the Left’s declared canidates condemned IIlhan Omar. Zero. That is a non poll to watch. :). It’s who they are.

Todd predicted the Republicans would increase their house numbers and they lost 40. LaMalfa’s win was pr4edictable but only one of seven Republicans to win in the Congressionals in California. That’s not me, but if everyone had my attitude, there’d be a lot fewer mindlessly happy people out there to brighten everyone’s day.
The GOP won the seven statewide without vote “harvesting”, and people who have not given their employer, the state, express permission to take money from their paychecks to give to the union that claims them as a member without their consent has not ended (see Janus v. AFSCME) in California.
Then there’s the mass idiocy over Climate Change that has the state’s testicles in a salad shooter, but that’s a mid-term problem that will blow up eventually, and resolving it will not be pretty.

The GOP won the seven statewide without vote “harvesting”, and people who have not given their employer, the state, express permission to take money from their paychecks to give to the union that claims them as a member without their consent has not ended (see Janus v. AFSCME) in California.
Now Nevada County voted blue in practically all state and Fed elections in the last two cycles. In Fact if all Counties in District 1 Congressional would have voted like Nevada County LaMalfa would not be District 1 Congressman. My question to you is was Nevada County aided by vote “harvesting” as you contend in the above quote as the main reason California went Democratic by such a historic level ?

In fact, the other counties didn’t vote as Nevada County did, and The Union didn’t exactly do their job covering Denney’s inconsistencies. She lied about a number of things, and the local Dems threw normal behavior out the door with LaMalfa’s town meeting which caused him to not come back.
We don’t know what the county vote is doing. It was easier to trust the process when it was simple and quick, with ballots kept together. And it’s heading out to the rest of the state.

As for Tupac, his first album “2Pacalypse Now” was released in 1991. The rap legend also recorded music as part of the group Digital Underground, but it was also released in the early 1990s after Harris finished school.
