[Does anyone know what leverage would Trump have to get Dems to agree to border security funding were he to agree on first giving them all they want on illegal aliens in a bill that would also terminate the shutdown?  gjr]

    Bill write:
“Most Americans on Main St USA don’t care a lick about the Federal employees, all in all. I certainly don’t. Government is the employer of last resort.”
So you don’t care a lick about our Airport workers or Forrest Service or Coast Guard workers? That’s just a start.

,,,Here you go Roundtable Brain Surgeons,,,
”’According to Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers Kevin Hassett, some 0.13 percentage points is subtracted from growth for each week while the shutdown lasted. Five weeks means GDP growth is down by 0.65 percentage points, with more taken away each day. For a $20 trillion-plus economy, that’s $130 billion dollars on an annual basis.
This seems like a lot to pay to get a $5.7 billion wall along with other security-related initiatives along the U.S.-Mexican border.”’

Stone’s indictment looks “paid for” by friends of Hillary and anything Proggy.
    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/01/25/roger-stone-indictment-uses-russia-hack-conclusions-from-google-linked-company/
“The DNC famously refused to allow the FBI to access its server to verify the allegation that Russia carried out a hack during the 2016 presidential campaign. Instead, the DNC reached an arrangement with the FBI in which a third party company, CrowdStrike, conducted forensics on the server and shared details with the FBI.
As this reporter previously documented, CrowdStrike was financed to the tune of $100 million from a funding drive by Google Capital.
Google Capital, which now goes by the name of CapitalG, is an arm of Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company. Eric Schmidt, the chairman of Alphabet, has been a staunch and active supporter of Hillary Clinton and is a longtime donor to the Democratic Party.”
So the FBI didn’t even do their own gumshoeing.

Forrest Tucker was a legend in Hollywood back in the day. Not for his acting per se, but was known for having the largest appendage in the industry. An older lady, a starlet herself in her prime, told me that tidbit of information.
Also, for those who keep track of such things in their Encyclopedia of Wothless Information, there is some discrepancies as to where Peter’s final resting place is.
“Friends of mine who grew up on the east coast told me years later that on high school trips to Washington, the boys would spread out and look for it. Some even claimed that they saw it. A less well-known version of the story insisted that no, it wasn’t in the Smithsonian, but at FBI headquarters, that for years it rested in a jar on J. Edgar Hoover’s desk. Others said it actually was nearby at the Army Medical Museum. Anyway, boys identified with the dead gunman and his parts—everyone knew what you meant when you referred to “my Dillinger.”

And now he is the bigger man as he said OK I am so concerned for the country and its security and the employees that I will give you 3 weeks to come up with a plan we can all agree to. So the losers are the democrats as they showed their voters they could care less about them.
Roger Stone has not been charged with anything from the pre-election campaign. And simply asking someone to get dirt on an opposition candidate is not a crime. So Mueller resorts to his thuggery and process crime indictments and makes American justice look like the East German Stasi.

The Buzzfeed disgraced media debacle; attacking Mrs. Pence for being an art teacher at a Christian school; the hate and hundreds of death threats directed at Catholic children on a field trip by lying racists ADULtS in full blown mass hysteria meltdown (on social media by intolerant fasict Blue Mob coupled whthe entire Democrat Party and the unapologetic entire entertainmen/media instudtrial complex); the shutdown temporary ending AND the Gestapo pre-dawn raid on an old man who has no criminal history nor a flight risk by 29 armed men with automatic weapons in full tactical gear.
As far as the Wall goes; it’s just a break in the action. Both sides to their corners between rounds: Dems have yet to explain why they refused to negotiate or pass two bills that would have paid the poor grifters.

Insight: “Self-reliance is the only road to true freedom, and being one’s own person is its ultimate reward.” —Patricia Sampson (1921-1998)
Upright: “I’d never wanna get on an airplane that only had one wing. The president wants to make sure that we’re actually securing the border in … totality, not just with one wing. You need two wings. Which means you have to have a wall. You have to have technology. You have to have all of the things that the president has put forward in his proposal.” —Sarah Sanders
Look in the mirror: “We’re doing serious damage to our country. Totally unnecessarily.” —Nancy Pelosi
Hot air: “[Central America] is the most vulnerable region in the world to global warming. … That is one of the principal causes for [migrants] making that long journey.” —Al Gore
Alpha Jackass: “Last week, a group of boys engaged with a Native American man beating a tribal drum. … These boys, who attend a religious school, were there on a school trip protesting against a woman’s right to reproductive freedom. Several of these boys were wearing red MAGA hats, a hat that has become synonymous with white nationalism and racism. Several were doing a ‘tomahawk chop.’ Several were laughing. When I saw that video, I saw boys flaunting their entitlement and displaying toxic masculinity. It seemed to me like they were reflecting the white nationalism and racism that the hats on their heads have come to represent. I sent out a tweet that read, ‘The red MAGA hat is the new white hood.’ Right-wing pundits and anonymous trolls alike screamed for my head–literally and figuratively. My husband received death threats on his cell phone. Many demanded an apology. Here’s the thing: I was right. So, I won’t apologize to these boys. Or anyone who wears that hat.” —Alyssa Milano
And last… “The funniest thing in the #ExposeChristianSchools tag are the people complaining about the ‘anti-science’ agenda of Christian schools. Do you guys have any idea what sort of anti-science gibberish they teach in public schools? Let’s start with the

“Energy in the executive is a leading character in the definition of good government. It is essential to the protection of the community against foreign attacks; it is not less essential to the steady administration of the laws; to the protection of property against those irregular and high-handed combinations which sometimes interrupt the ordinary course of justice; to the security of liberty against the enterprises and assaults of ambition, of faction, and of anarchy.” —Alexander Hamilton (1788)

You can see why they put her on mad max’s committee, she makes waters look smart by comparison –
If Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., were a conservative, all anyone would be talking about is how uninformed she is. She would be facing trick questions from reporters designed to expose her lack of knowledge, and brutal sketches on “Saturday Night Live” mocking her intelligence and fitness for office. Instead, SNL fawns over her, while CBS’s “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert — far from making jokes at her expense — eats ice cream with her and asks how many and “f — s” she gives about her critics.
It’s not that there is a lack of material. This week, for example, Ocasio-Cortez declared that “the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” She has said that $21 trillion in “Pentagon accounting errors” could pay for most of her massive $32 trillion Medicare-for-all plan — as if there were $21 trillion in unspent tax dollars sitting around in a Pentagon vault. She opined that “just last year we gave the military a $700 billion dollar budget increase, which they didn’t even ask for” — unaware, apparently, that the entire Pentagon budget is $716 billion. She wrongly claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement “is required to fill 34,000 beds with detainees every single night and that number has only been increasing since 2009” — when ICE is required only to have that number of beds available and that number has remained flat. She has declared that “unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs” — which is flatly untrue. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only 6 million to 7 million Americans with two jobs and 148 million with just one.
Those are examples of ignorance. But apparently she is also dishonest. This week, she told Colbert that she has not been able to open a district office yet to handle constituent casework because of the federal government shutdown. “There’s a lot of things we can’t do as freshman members,” she said. “We can’t properly set up our district offices. We can’t get laptops delivered. We can’t start doing the work that we were elected here to do. … It takes the green stuff. And those workers are furloughed.” That’s wrong. Last September, Congress passed the 2019 Legislative Branch Appropriations bill, which funds congressional salaries and offices for the coming year. Ocasio-Cortez knows this because, unlike furloughed workers, she is getting paid. The New York Times reports that the three other first-term members from New York have managed to open offices in their districts. A more likely explanation is that Ocasio-Cortez is spending her time building her national media profile instead of taking care of the constituents who sent her to Washington in the first place.

While they pretend to be mostly agitated by his alleged ghastliness, their real beef is with his supporters, because they are the ones who elected him believing he wouldn’t surrender to the left’s socialist and culturally Marxist juggernaut. The Covington Catholic High School story is all the proof you need that red MAGA cap-wearing humans represent pure evil in the eyes of today’s left.
As I (and others) have said before, President Trump didn’t arise in a vacuum. Conservative patriots have had it with leftist bullies obliterating America’s founding principles, traditional values and constitutional liberties. They are sick of leftists holding themselves out as titans of tolerance when they brand as bigots anyone whose views deviate from theirs.
Leftists will not destroy President Trump, but even if they cripple and neuter him, they will not marginalize his supporters or weaken their resolve.
    —-
I admire President Trump’s stamina and his dogged commitment to his campaign promises. I am encouraged by his standing up to the left so fearlessly and with so little help. I don’t know whether the Democrats will eventually wear him down with the disability of a thousand cuts, but I am confident he will not quit fighting as long as he is able. I am also quite sure the Democrats will not intimidate and defeat his supporters, who will never surrender to the fundamental transformation of the nation they love.

    Trouble in Paradise?
Gee, I have no idea how we could have spent so much of OPM. Haven’t a clue, not the foggiest idea. 🙂
Maybe it was the constant changing of the ordinance? Maybe it was the constant tweeting and talking about it. Maybe the lawyer does not work for free? Maybe money does not grow on trees? 19k could buy a lot of tin foil hats.
“Senum asked to table the discussion again on Wednesday, saying that changing regulations from the federal government meant the draft needed to be tweaked further.
Mayor David Parker took issue with the current $19,000 price tag, saying, “This was supposed to be free.”
“I don’t know how we have spent that,” Senum said, before city staff chimed in to explain the increased cost was due to repeated interactions between Scott Porter [city contracted lawyer] and Rusty Monroe to make changes to the ordinance.
“We spent money to have something on the table,” council member Duane Strawser said. “Let’s vote on this and then make changes (as needed). We need something in place.”
After noting the ordinance will come back regardless for a second reading, the council approved the first reading of the ordinance on a 3-1-1 vote with Erin Minett voting no and Senum abstaining.
    https://www.theunion.com/news/local-news/nevada-city-oks-ordinance-regulating-telecommunications/
Think the last time they told her “no” was when she wanted to keep the city owned A.P.P.L.E. storefront open with reduced rent without a viable business plan. Donations and selling homemade costume jewelry wasn’t paying the rent nor crack the monthly rent.. At least the folks who walked in felt good vibes.

“The Government has set its goals for the next 30 years to become a prosperous democratic socialist society. In that the world can only wish them well. The 4000 year epic of Chinese civilization with all its trials and tragedies and its almost boundless invention and creativity, the world needs a prosperous and peaceful china as never before”
It was accompanied by video of toothless workers on the street running horse drawn wagons.
Then there is the whole crushing the Catholic church and not really having internet, full facial recognition and social conformity points. Not enough points, no travel for you, no job for your family, re-education for you in the best tried and true chi com tradition.

“I don’t know how we spent that” must be a common refrain between Reinette and her wife. Apple budget didn’t work out so swell. Where did all her (not free) toy houses go? The taco stand? Her movie “Fruitcake”? Next it will be a bunch of goats who have grazed too early (because they’ve already been reserved for the proper season for weed abatement) and have only primed our forest for explosive growth from a good early season pruning. When the brush comes back in abundance because her homeless weed whackers found other important places to spend their time, we’ll hear “I didn’t know they didn’t want to work. Let’s hire a masticator. But we don’t have any loot. I don’t understand how we spent all that money on goats.”
