Say goodbye to some good people: M’s colleral damage.
The two were remembered as “jovial” by Tom Cates, a longtime friend who knew the Davids through Reno’s rodeo and equestrian scene.
Cates said Gerald David used his time as the Reno Rodeo Association president in 2006 to promote a breast cancer awareness campaign by getting the group’s cowboys to show they were “tough enough to wear pink shirts.”
“You walk into a room and his presence will just command attention. He was a true leader,” Cates said.
Sharon David was “exuberant” and “bubbly” and “loved animals to the hills,” he said. She was a former director of the rodeo.
Renken belonged to an antique automobile club and was known as the friendly driver of a Ford Model A who was always volunteering to help.
Robin Reedy, who was also in the Carson-Tahoe Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, said she was surprised to learn Renken’s age.
“I would never have known she was 74 by the way she acted,” she said.
Koontz, who worked at a Walmart and as a manicurist at a local salon, was remembered by co-workers Tuesday as a positive woman who loved wearing bright colors. Her Walmart colleagues wore memorial buttons with her picture.
She was “the only person I know that could come to work wearing lime green glasses and lime green crocs and rock it,” said Teri Bower, who works at the store.
Koontz and her daughter were best friends, Bower said, and the mother had saved up money and surprised her daughter with a trip to Las Vegas for her 21st birthday in December.
Bower said the killings had shaken the quiet community where everyone knows everyone and big news is a pending storm “or a bear running down Main Street.”
“This does not happen around here,” Bower said. “It’s crazy.”
This story has been updated to correct the suspect’s age to 19, not 20. El Salvadoran. Why am I not surprised.

Eyeroll: Native American Man At Center Of False MAGA Kids Story Says Student ‘Stole His Narrative’
“He (Sandmann) stole my narrative,” Phillips said. “From the time I hit that first beat of the drum until I hit the last beat, I was in prayer. Now all of a sudden, he’s the prayer guy and the passive one.”
Oh, poor baby.
““In a 2008 interview, Phillips described how he was spit on and called a “baby killer” after “coming back to the U.S.” during the Vietnam era, giving the misleading perception he fought in Vietnam. Since then, the article has been updated to reflect that Phillips is a Vietnam-era veteran.
The question of his Vietnam service isn’t the only subject on which Phillips has misled reporters. After the initial video of the incident at the Lincoln Memorial went viral, Phillips said the high school students surrounded him while he was peacefully demonstrating. Additional video revealed he was the one to approach the students. He also claimed the students were attacking a group of black individuals, but video shows the black individuals were part of an extremist group called the Black Hebrew Israelites and they were yelling expletive-laden taunts at the students.”
Hmmm. Spit on him, called him baby killer? That would be the Left that Philips is referring to. Nowadays the media has joined the Left to slur, lie, and spit on young men.
Yep, blame the kid for stealing your narrive, lol.

Today’s commentary from Jim Hightower:
It’s been pointed out that Donnie Trump has unusually small hands… but who cares?
What’s truly alarming are his unusually small policy ideas. Draining the swamp, for example. He bragged that he’d be stronger than Drano, promising he’d rid Washington of its infestation with lobbyists, corporate favor-seekers, and other swamp critters. But he betrayed that populist pledge from the very start, staffing his entire presidency with CEOs, lobbyists, and Republican megadonors who’re gleefully rigging the system for themselves against the rest of us.
Also, remember how candidate Trump blistered the behinds of Wall Street’s billionaire hedge-fund hucksters for getting rich by destroying middle-class jobs? He promised that – by gollies – he would take away their loophole that lets them escape paying taxes they owe. But as president, he wimped out, handing a trillion-dollar tax cut to the billionaires and their corporations, including meekly leaving the pampered hedge funders’ loophole entirely untouched.
And where’s that “Make America Great” guy who claimed that only he had the vision and chutzpa to rebuild America, pledging to launch a trillion-dollar investment in our national infrastructure? His chutzpa petered out and his vision shriveled to a hokey scheme of smoke and mirrors, basically asking states and corporations to come up with the money and calling on them to privatize our public infrastructure. Where’s the greatness in that?
Poor Donnie wants to be thought of as modern-day Teddy Roosevelt. So he constantly poses as a populist, bigger-than-life Bull Moose character who’s got the right stuff to bust the profiteering trusts in order to stop their ripoffs and their schemes to knock down the middle class. Sadly, a pose is all it is, for he’s just run-of-the-mill plutocratic president who speaks loudly, but carries nothing bigger than a limp twig when it comes to dealing with the corporate powers.

Some vegans, aka losers, have been protesting Hunter’s restaurant Antler Kitchen & Bar because it butchers up deer. Well, Hunter, as any real man would, refused to roll over.
“Last Friday, when the protestors started shouting “murderer” whenever the door to the restaurant opened, Hunter decided he needed to push back in some way. That’s when he got the idea to bring the deer leg to the window and break it down in front of the vegans. ” “

Somehow I think RR gets a red flag –
Without consulting with its users, Microsoft has installed an establishment media browser extension, purportedly designed to rate the accuracy of news websites, as a default setting on mobile versions of its Edge browser. In practice, it creates a news blacklist by warning users away from sites including Breitbart News, The Drudge Report, and the Daily Mail.
The browser extension, called “Newsguard,” presents users with a red warning label if they navigate to a website that it judges to be unreliable. A “green” rating is given to websites that NewsGuard considers trustworthy.

Good question.
If that were true, I’d have looked up the prime manufacturer on cruise missiles and bought as much stock as I could stand. With the War Party temporarily out of office, it’s hard out here for a pimp.
You do have to wonder how the world would collapse if those federal workers never went back to work. It would be cheaper to just pay them to stay home I’d guess.

Longstanding leftist allies Bolivia and Cuba were the only countries in the region to explicitly voice support for Maduro as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay and Peru backed Guaido.
The United States and Canada also recognized Guaido – the 35-year-old leader of Venezuela’s opposition-dominated National Assembly – as Venezuela’s legitimate ruler.

So Paul is an Ann guy. Well go for you. She would like Trump at act like “O”.
What you need to do today — not after the State of the Union address, not after the next GOP retreat, not after another meeting with the Democrats — is to start rolling construction trucks to the southern border.
When Obama wanted something done, he did it. After spending two years saying he didn’t have constitutional authority to amnesty Dreamers, he issued an executive order amnestying Dreamers.
Obama has a legacy — a terrible legacy, but a legacy nonetheless. We’re still living with that executive order today.

The fundamentals are sound –
The number of people seeking jobless benefits dropped last week to the lowest level since November 1969, a sign the job market remains strong despite the partial government shutdown, now in its fifth week.
The last time claims were this low the labor market was half the size it is now.
Jobless claims, which are a proxy for layoffs, have been closely followed for signs that tariffs could weigh on the U.S. economy. So far this metric signals that those predictions have not come true.
