JOHN DOWD: Little did I know that it appears that they were all in it together. I mean, Rosenstein, Comey, Mueller, McCabe, the whole crowd and they were out to get this president, no matter what. I don’t think they sincerely believed anything about Russia.
BRIAN KILMEADE: Well, he flat out lied to you [Comey]. John Dowd, he flat out lied to you when you, well when the president, the president said, “am I a target of this investigation?” Reince Priebus was told no and the President was told no. That’s a lie!
JOHN DOWD: That’s right.
BRIAN KILMEADE: It’s unbelievable.
…
JOHN DOWD: Then they play games with his counterintelligence business… What was driving me crazy, Brian, you know I served as a Department of Justice. I did an internal investigation of the FBI back when Director Kelly was there and working with two attorneys general. Let me tell you, I’ve never, I mean, this is our worst nightmare that someone with that kind of power would then decide to go after the president. I mean, it’s a coup. That’s what it is — an attempted coup by Comey and his crowd. And, the evidence is all over there. I take the New York Times article as an admission of their bad behavior.

Then there is this –
President Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general sent White House lawyers a memo arguing that the president could not have obstructed justice by firing ex-FBI Director James Comey, describing a critical prong of the special counsel’s Russia investigation as “fatally misconceived,” a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press on Monday.
Barr sent the memo while he was in private practice and months before he was selected by Trump for the top Justice Department job. On Tuesday, Barr will seek to assure lawmakers that the memo was narrowly focused on a single theory of obstruction that media reports suggested Mueller might be considering, according to a copy of his prepared remarks provided by the Justice Department.
Barr is expected to tell senators he wrote it himself as a former attorney general “who has often weighed in on legal issues of public importance.”
As part of his testimony, Barr is also expected to tell the senators that Trump didn’t seek any assurances or promises before nominating him.
In the memo, Barr argues that it could be disastrous for the presidency and the Justice Department if Mueller concludes that actions the president is legally permitted to take — including firing an FBI director or granting a pardon — could constitute obstruction because of a subjective determination that they were done with corrupt intent.
Barr acknowledged a president can commit obstruction of justice by destroying evidence or tampering with witnesses. But, he said, he wasn’t aware of any accusation like that in Mueller’s investigation.

Looks like the hierarchy of the FBI colluded to try and get rid of Trump. I think Trump should have them all fired even Comey pick, Mueller. He was setup to find collusion and we know none happened. So the boss needs to toss.

Border crossings in November 2018 — the last month from which data is available — hit close to 52,000, marking the highest level of illegal immigration in the month of November since 2006. Projections indicate that illegal immigration for next year will reach 600,000 border crossings, the highest level of illegal immigration in more than a decade. Meanwhile, drug overdoses in 2017 killed an unprecedented 72,287 U.S. residents, nearly three times the number of individuals killed by global terrorism. Nearly 50,000 of those deadly overdoses were caused by either heroin or fentanyl.
Thanks team lefty for all of that!

OH NO! The po’ ol’ pollhead needs to sit down –
The establishment media and elected Democrats have failed to convince the American public that mass illegal immigration and drug trafficking at the United States-Mexico border is a “manufactured crisis,” a new poll reveals.
The latest Quinnipiac University Poll finds that the majority of Americans, Republican voters, swing-voters, American men, as well as both college-educated whites and non-college educated whites agree that there is a “security crisis” at the southern border.
In total, 54 percent of Americans agree with President Trump’s assertion that the country’s porous southern border has created a “crisis” of skyrocketing illegal immigration and deadly drug trafficking. About 86 percent of Republican voters agree, as well.

Once again Don you failed to read the poll you’re citing in your 7:33
Here’s the results of the poll in the link you provided :
American voters support 63 – 30 percent a Democratic proposal to reopen parts of the government that do not involve border security while negotiating funding for the Wall, according to a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. Every party, gender, education, age and racial group supports this idea except Republicans, who are opposed 52 – 39 percent.
Voters oppose 63 – 32 percent shutting down the government to force funding for the Wall, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University National Poll finds. Again, Republicans are the only listed group supporting the shutdown, 67 – 24 percent.
The GOP is losing the battle as 56 percent of American voters say President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are responsible for the shutdown, while 36 percent say Democrats are responsible.
Voters remain solidly opposed to a wall on the Mexican border, 55 – 43 percent, and reject every argument for the Wall. The 55 – 43 percent opposition compares to 54 – 43 percent opposition in a December 18 survey, just before the partial government shutdown.
American voters are negative in every question about the wall, saying:
59 – 40 percent that it is not a good use of taxpayer dollars;
55 – 43 percent that the wall would not make the U.S. safer;
59 – 40 percent that the wall is not necessary to protect the border;
Come on Don, you can do better than that. Here’s a link to the poll you cite

But what is remarkable about the new polling data on Syria is that the vast bulk of support for keeping troops there comes from Democratic Party voters, while Republicans and independents overwhelming favor their removal. The numbers are stark: Of people who voted for Clinton in 2016, only 26 percent support withdrawing troops from Syria, while 59 percent oppose it. Trump voters overwhelmingly support withdraw by 76 percent to 14 percent.
A similar gap is seen among those who voted Democrat in the 2018 midterm elections (28 percent support withdrawal while 54 percent oppose it), as opposed to the widespread support for withdrawal among 2018 GOP voters: 74 percent to 18 percent.

In your view did the resignation of Elliot Richardson and William Ruckelshaus after refusing to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox go counter to the Constitution?

“The headline kinda says it all, doesn’t it? We know the police kill. Question is whether we will ever stop funding this deadly paramilitary force and start funding things that actually keep the people of Portland safe.”
In his reply, Larson noted that, as the story she referenced states, the man killed was a paranoid schizophrenic home invader who attacked police with a deadly weapon:
“Gee @sarahforpdx you think the cops make PDX dangerous? Read the story and you find the dead man was 1) paranoid schizophrenic 2) invaded a stranger’s home 3) fought with the officer 4) pulled a knife. What’s your millennial snowflake solution to that situation without the cops?”

Re: Easier ways to spy on journalists?
Interesting developing story. Under the category “Let’s wait until this unfolds.” John Solemon has written some excellent articles and has done some great in-depth reporting. New ways to spy on journalists? Where are the civil libertarians now?
“Rosenstein’s effort, whether successful or not, is certain to foster a debate.
I, for one, have a special vantage point molded by personal experience.
As an investigative journalist for The Associated Press at the start of George W. Bush’s administration, the Justice Department and then-Deputy Attorney General Robert Mueller — yes, the same one now running the Russia investigation — subpoenaed my phone records without notifying AP.
Justice then took special steps to delay notifying me for months, a delay that allowed Mueller’s nomination as FBI director to be confirmed by the Senate before lawmakers could learn of the intrusion on my First Amendment-protected reporting.
There was an outcry, but it didn’t stop Justice from further intrusion. A few months after seizing my phone records without the normal notification, the DOJ went a step further and seized my personal mail through the FBI, where Mueller was then the boss.
This time, they didn’t use a subpoena or a warrant. They used an archaic legal concept known as “border-search authority” to open a package coming from the Philippines that included a legacy FBI lab report sent to me by a source.
The report was neither classified nor deemed sensitive. It simply was embarrassing to the FBI because it showed the bureau was aware of al Qaeda terrorist plots targeting airliners well before the 9/11 attacks.
After finding the report, the FBI kept the document from me without seeking a warrant or subpoena — a clear, unequivocal violation of my Fourth Amendment protections against illegal search and seizure.
When my package didn’t arrive, I became suspicious and eventually proved that the FBI had confiscated it illegally. When confronted, the FBI admitted it had engaged in wrongdoing and the bureau, DOJ and AP lawyers worked together to put rules in place to avoid the type of abuses to which I’d been subjected.
My case showed that, even with rules in place, the DOJ and FBI had the means, motive and will to trample on the First Amendment rights of a free press. Furthermore, I saw the chilling effect that government intrusion had on my work: Well-intentioned sources were afraid to talk to me or to meet, for fear they would be caught in a dragnet.
It took months, years, to recover from that harm.

Interesting to note that Senator John Warner called on the FBI yesterday to stop the leaks (to the press).
Q: when will the DOJ go after the leakers?
McCabe leaked and lied, Comey leaked and lied, Clapper leaked and lied, Baker leaked, Brennan leaked and lied, …..why have all the members of the Obama Administration involved in the Canidate Trump’s wiretaps lie about leaking under his watch?

The pit bull’s record have done gone missing.. Par for the course
“To be clear: These facts do not suggest that Weissmann or others on his behalf “disappeared” the records. Nor does any blame lie at Judge Lake’s door. (A federal judge isn’t involved in such logistical matters.) Rather, the most likely scenario is sloppiness by a staffer, but whose staffer—Lake’s, one of the Fifth Circuit judge’s, a Supreme Court justice’s, or one in the clerk’s office or file room—is unlikely to ever be known.
Now we also may never know exactly what transpired when Weissmann oversaw the Enron prosecution. “The third branch of government functions best with proper oversight,” attorney Fulton stressed, upon learning that the records no longer exist. “Unfortunately, the ‘unrecoverable’ court records now hamper that oversight and leave unanswered important questions that the public deserves answers to.”
Efforts to obtain the remaining documents continue, though: By the end of January the DOJ must respond to the motion to unredact the records that haven’t gone missing. The remaining documents, however, are unlikely to provide additional insight into Weissmann’s questionable conduct in the Enron case, which I previously detailed at length here.
Consequently, Weissmann will likely remain Mueller’s “pit bull,” because without the missing documents prompting a public outcry, nothing is likely to change—especially since Mueller led the FBI at the time of the Enron prosecutions and was surely well aware of Weissmann’s modus operandi when he brought him on board as his lead prosecutor. It is facts like these that lead many on the right to question the integrity of the special counsel probe.“

What others on the right are saying about Steve King: yesterday
https://patriotpost.us/articles/60527-republicans-have-had-enough-of-steve-king?fbclid=IwAR1XYbVFKYV__F8en-jA-0NKDrreD3HPEmrs_XQ1LEuWz8k9JbOpVDFQw0s
Sen. Tim Scott, a black South Carolina Republican, scolded King in an op-ed. “Some in our party wonder why Republicans are constantly accused of racism,” Scott opined. “It is because of our silence when things like this are said.” He explained, “King’s comments are not conservative views but separate views that should be ridiculed at every turn possible. Conservative principles mean equal opportunity for all to succeed, regardless of what you look like or where you are from. It is maddening to see so many folks who believe this and have only good intentions in their hearts tarnished by these radical perspectives. That is why silence is no longer acceptable.”
Toz sez: While most of us never had a problem with Steve King, he is suddenly toxic. I like Senator Scott, by I fear he is too naive.
Yo, Tim Scott: need to wonder why R’s are accused of racism. Pull your head out and smell the coffee. Anyone for the Wall is a racist. Everyone opposed to Obama (or his authorization of spying on citizens) is a racist. Anyone who questions the fraud, corruption, and the death count of Puerto Rico’s Hurricane is a racist. Anyone who supports Trump (or his policies) is a racist. Anyone who votes Right is a racist. Anyone who calls Senator Warren ‘Pocahontas or Fauxaontas’ (like moi) is a racist. Anyone who is opposed to resegregation of college dorms, college dining areas, or college safe places is a racist. Anyone who says Ghost Busters II is overrated is a sexist racist. Love ya Tim Scott, but the Left calls you a token nigga, house nigga, and Uncle Tom. Yes, Don Lemon is dumb as a screen door on a submarine, but to point that out is racist.
