PaulE – I don’t know what kind of broken drum you are pounding viz LaMalfa’s loss in our county. Has it not been explained to you beyond counting that the Left, that faction which soils its urban nests, has found a new and clean place here to settle and bring along its SF values. We are daily seeing the effects of progressive progress in our community. I have tried to focus on this issue in my last few commentaries, but it’s as if you don’t listen to anyone except yourself.
Yes, Audrey Denny won in Nevada County, and the socialists are in charge in California, and they are on the march to smoke out the last holdouts who still believe in freedom and enterprise. They are replicating the policies of their brothers and sisters in places like Venezuela, Nicaragua, and every African country you can name. Our results will be no different than theirs. The Democrats’ argument, that somehow our shit doesn’t stink and we’ll do socialism right, flies in the face of history and experience.

France:
The first thing I thought seeing the defacing of the Arc de Triomphe was how eerily familiar it is to our social justice warriors, Leftinistas, and socialists who want to erase the legacy of our country’s founding and the monuments that were built to honor the men of their time. Was it Jesse Jackson or was it Al Sharpton that wanted the Jefferson Memorial torn down? Or was it that memorial and national monument to that racist white privileged rich dude, George Washington? Burn it down. Burn the banks down. Burn it all down.
The second thing I thought was tossing tea in the Boston Harbor seems tame by comparison and no fire hazards were involved.
The third thing that crossed my mind was how out of touch the Greenie Elitist Internationalists are with the common man in the streets of Paris. Bet they thought everyone would go along with jacking up the price of fossil fuels to save the planet. A willing sacrifice. The smartest snail eaters in France thought wrong. And it goes without saying that those who make the rules are unaffected by the rules.
The lasting impression I got looking t the riots and anarchists is give it a few years and it will look exactly the same here.

wow Todd
You are totally delusional. You believe that a third of the California electorate that participated in the Congressional elections are either fraudulent or from illegal immigrants. If you are a typical example it’s no wonder the Republican party is irrelevant in California

So Todd you are saying guilty without any one even charged or arrested or even investigated. what do you base your accusation on? Links etc. Thats links that support fraud is the reason for the one third lead the Democrats had in this election. Show me documentation. You are the one who made the accusation.

Medicare for all? Keeping it vague. Medicare-for-all has a great talking point but no plan
“Proponents of this vision have the political wind at their backs and continue to deploy the idea effectively to win intra-party arguments without really making any headway on the core obstacles to writing a Medicare-for-all bill that could become law. That said, to the extent that political power rather than concrete legislation is the goal, that’s probably for the best.”

At least there still is some justice left in Calf.
The home of “free speech” just lost their battle for trying to curtail free speech.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/uc-berkeley-will-pay-70g-to-conservative-group-to-settle-free-speech-lawsuit
In the settlement, UC Berkeley agreed to the following terms set by YAF:
1. Pay YAF $70,000.
2. Rescind the unconstitutional “High-Profile Speaker Policy.”
3. Rescind the viewpoint-discriminatory security fee policy.
4. Abolish its heckler’s veto — protesters will no longer be able to shut down conservative expression.
Under these terms, UC Berkeley will no longer be allowed to place a 3 p.m. curfew on conservative events or relegate conservative speakers to remote or inconvenient lecture halls on campus while giving left-leaning speakers access to preferred parts of campus.

Early Childhood Education:
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that approximately 11 percent of children ages four to seventeen have been diagnosed with ADHD, and that number increased 42 percent from 2003-2004 to 2011-2012, with a majority of those diagnosed placed on medication. Perhaps more troubling, one-third of these diagnoses occur in children under age six.
It should be no surprise that as we place young children in artificial learning environments, separated from their family for long lengths of time, and expect them to comply with a standardized, test-driven curriculum, it will be too much for many of them.
New findings by Harvard Medical School researchers confirm that it’s not the children who are failing, it’s the schools we place them in too early. These researchers discovered that children who start school as among the youngest in their grade have a much greater likelihood of getting an ADHD diagnosis than older children in their grade. In fact, for the U.S. states studied with a September 1st enrollment cut-off date, children born in August were 30 percent more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than their older peers.
https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/article/harvard-study-shows-dangers-early-school-enrollment
On a related issue, studies of the much beloved Headstart Program reveal that any advantage a child in Headstart had in readiness for school and preparation for learning over his peers declines each year rapidly until it completely disappears by high school. Not much after 3-5 grades.

BillT 831am – good pick-ups (again) Mr Tozer. Re early childhood education, it seems that this Harvard study is one of these periodic recycling of what has been confirmed for years and years – early childhood education programs (especially those pushed by government) provide literally no benefit to students by the time they reach middle school (aka jr high). This conclusion gets revisited regularly but apparently has no affect on the government education industry since its implementation promotes more bureaucracies and jobs for the bottom-of-barrel members of our workforce.

Lindsey Graham says there’s a “smoking saw” tied to the Trump family’s favorite Saudi.
“CIA Director Gina Haspel briefed two Senate committees on Capitol Hill Tuesday on the CIA’s findings about the murder of Khashoggi.
“There’s not a smoking gun, there’s a smoking saw,” said Graham, adding that anyone who would deny bin Salman’s involvement at this point is “willfully blind.”
