Weβre watching the various channels report the returns. And the directors and producers of their election night shows insist on putting on talking heads and politicians from all over the country who not only have no clue which way things are trending, but also no firm ideas on which way things will turn out given the up-to-the-minute data feeds. Why put these know-nothings on the air to tell us their long-winded βon this hand, but on the other handβ information-free interviews. We donβt need to hear such ignorance (technical use of term) and/or ambivalence from invited talking heads; the program anchors can handle such 50-50 outcome monologues all by themselves, and they can do it more efficiently with backup data than the people on their panels or the senator from some state who will amble on in ambiguity.
So hereβs the drill. Ask the prospective person to be put on the air whether they have any firm convictions about which way this or that race will turn out given the data up to now. If the sumbich says he hasnβt got a clue, then donβt put him on the air to waste the viewersβ time. In short, if you have some firm position on an outcome that you can defend, then welcome and speak your piece β else weβll get back to you when youβve got something to tell us other than your long-winded βI donβt knowβ. How come none of those stellar journalistic professionals putting these βelection headquartersβ on the air know how to do this???

Greggy– What do you call the recent murders by Israeli snipers of clearly marked medical workers at the wall during the last round of protests, sport shooting? Or shooting rock throwing boys. Compare the number of Palestinians killed by Jewish soldiers with the number of Jews killed by Palestinians and you have the real story instead of right wing bullshit talking points by supporters of the repressive regime in Israel.

A belligerent crowd made it unpleasant for LaMalfa to appear in Nevada County, exercising the heckler’s veto over LaMalfa and people who attended just wanting to ask questions and be heard. LaMalfa took it, but didn’t come back… Why should he if your friends were going to take over, and he’d easily win the seat without showing up.
Denney lost overwhelmingly district wide, eked out a three percent margin in Nevada County, far from the 2:1 margin in The Union’s fake poll. The Union also failed to look seriously at Denney and her ballot claim to be an Educator/Farmer, without a classroom to teach in or a farm to farm. And her “AgEd” degrees prepared her to talk about farming to high school kids, not to farm. She was for “gun safety” that included banning lots of guns that can’t fire six rounds any faster than an old police revolver, and can’t fire 17 rounds any faster than a policeman’s Glock. She also couldn’t actually discuss the science behind “climate change”.
Hodge won the 2nd largest plurality for the Grass Valley City Council… the largest was for Nobody. Undervotes won handily.
What did the county do to earn the Purple label?
Went for Steve Poizner by a large margin for Insurance Commissioner.
Repealed the gas tax (or would have had the state agreed)
Went for Brian Dahle.
And, Boardman… in this County… Feinstein lost to Kevin Leon who is nearly as far left as She Guevara, now the youngest congresscritter. Sometimes, when the people are given the choice between a Democrat and a Democrat, the Democrat will win. Fewer local yokels might have voted for Leon had DiFi not had a commanding lead in the polls.
Nevada County continues to be a Purple Puddle.

Or should I call you Michael P. Anderson, aka Agent Mandersonation? You sound like him.
Don’t try to “whatabout” your way out of this, you called for the mass drowning of Jews.
If I had a gun and saw a rock thrower before he cracked open the head of someone I was tasked with protecting, I’d be obligated to shoot them. Rocks are deadly weapons. Just ask Goliath and David.

So you were pleased with the Republican votes and turnout in Nevada County. Solid Republican according to you. Red Wave in Nevada County right?

do you dispute these numbers?
Nevada County is a solid blue County having voted mostly Democratic for the second straight election. the Repubs don’t hesitiate to brand States as Red based on slim victories-Florida for example. This year Nevada County voted for:
Gavin Newsom Governor
ELENI KOUNALAKIS Lt Goveror
Alex Padilla Secretary of State
Betty Yee Controller
Fiona Ma Treasurer
XAVIER BECERRA Attorney General
Audrey Denny House
Jessica Morse House
Shannon Moon Sheriff -The Repubs endorsed her opponent Bill Smithers
The only major race that went Repub was Brian Dahle-Assembly

Paul, people aren’t like Programs in Tron:Legacy… they don’t get derezzed or turned color if their side loses.
Funny you add KOUNALAKIS… there was no GOP, LIB or GRN candidate on the ballot. Just two DEMs.
Captain Moon won over Lt. Smithers. Rank, like incumbency, has its advantage. I doubt the local GOP endorsement had much effect… how she’ll have to be a good Shire reeve going forward. You know, keep the peace, crack down on illegal grows and issue those CCWs.

Here’s a link for Todd who believed the Repubs would gain seats in the house. Todd was a believer in unskewed-polls.

Frisch has labeled Nevada County as now “center left”, which, in Truckee, probably fits very well.
His “company” is still lily white, overwhelmingly female and, I suspect, based on the titles held by men and the women that outnumber the guys… that the men are much better paid.

Dahle beats a democrat here. Cox loses by 1.8% (500 or some such) (with almost 1,000 undervotes). Ted Gaines beats a democrat here. Shannon Moon was a R until she announced. Poizner a R until he ran some years ago won by 13%.Pages 6,7 and show all the candidates for numerous offices are declared DTS’s. Neither party. All in all, no blue wabe here. I’ll say maybe a bit purple.
