I am shocked at the crowds that trump is getting, and I was more shocked that republicans are leading in early voting in key states. We’ll see tomorrow but it looks and feels a lot like 2016. I was shocked trump won, so I won’t be as shocked if it happens again in 2018. It’s going to be interesting and I look forward to reading your take on Wednesday.

To me it’s a question as to who the larger numbers of voters in this midterm represent. Relatively few voters change sides so it’s a question as to who shows up and how the Independents swing. We’ll know this time tomorrow what the trend is. Traditionally the incumbent party loses ground in the first midterm.

“I would think it would. Paul Manafort who does not have a fifth amendment right any longer, he pleaded guilty, will be their star witness as will Rick Gates and the president’s former lawyer Michael Cohen and Roger Stone,” Napolitano said.

You know, I was considering that statement. The easy shot would be to notice (once again) that the Great State of California is a one party system, and receives little criticism from the Blue Mob, but that is a boring and obvious thing to bring up once again.
But…what makes a multi-party system preferable to a two party system? Is the Italian government less corrupt and more efficient than the US one? Do multi-party coalitions have particularly good results? It’s not obvious to me what the truth is.
My general take is that the quality of government is a reflection of the quality of the citizens unless it’s external imposed.
